GREAT BOOK, It truly was amazing… I could not stop reading it finished it in a day and absolutely loved it.

The Doctor’s wife centres around Fern who at first glance is a pleasant, perfect and slightly naive woman. But as the story unfolds we come to realise she is so much more than that.

The main cast of four characters are all very well rounded, not necessarily likeable (I’m talking about you Drew) but easily readable.

Daniel Hurst has created a thriller that’s engaging, interesting and has just enough twists to keep you guessing. Especially the last one.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the advanced reading copy.

Dr. Drew Devlin is ecstatic when his wife agrees to move from Manchester to a quaint costal village. Unfortunately, his motive for the move is less than upstanding. Even more unfortunately, his wife is fully aware.

Told from the alternating perspectives of the doctor and his wife, this new novel from Daniel Hurst is absolutely unputdownable. Both characters in this book have pretty concerning issues, but Hurst writes them in a way that manages to make them feel real anyway. While one of the twists was pretty obvious, but the others were more surprising. All of it is well written and compelling.

I just really enjoyed everything about this book. Highly recommended for fans of alternating perspectives, quick reads, less than upstanding main characters, or just a good twist!

This is my first book by the author and quite enjoyable at that. Dr, Drew Devlin thinks he has everyone fooled, including his wife. When he wants to leave big city life to live in a remote town, his wife, Fern goes along with it. She is his wife This book had so many different plots and twists, I did not see a few of them coming. This was a fast paced book that I truly enjoyed.

Love Daniel Hurst's fast pace high tension thrillers, The Doctor's Wife is my third novel by the author.

Told from two perspectives, we follow Drew, the doctor, and his wife Fern. The couple moved from Manchester to a small village in Arberness, Scotland. Secrets, betrayal, and revenge is the theme of this domestic thriller. I found it to be predictable and have little shock value.

I wish there wasn't a prologue! Or at least doesn't include the death which was too big of a reveal. My mind was sort of set from then and the story only confirms my prediction. If you haven't read the book, you might want to skip the prologue to chapter one.

None of the characters are likable which was fine for me because I was hoping karma would catch up to them. I like the ocean-side small village setting. Another positive is there are very few characters to keep track of. The ending was satisfying but overall The Doctor's Wife didn't blow me away.

I came across this while looking through Netgalley and I’m glad that I requested it, it’s an impossible to leave down book with lots of twists in the story. I’ve never read one of the author’s books before this one so I’m happy that I have found another new author and will be checking out his other books.

Thank you to netgalley, bookouture, for providing me a copy of the Doctors wife. Daniel Hurst is a new author for me now I know another good author who writes thrillers. This book was a book that was hard to put down. The characters were like people in your neighborhood. I did find this book a little bit predicable especially the ending.. I would read another book by this author.

Don't you love it when a plan comes together.
I mean seriously what we have here is everyone playing one another for a fool. Adults acting like kids going to the candy store on more than one occasion.
However, who's playing who is the question at hand.
After all, the doctor's wife Fern Devlin, thinks she's getting away with murder, while her spouse had a falling out of love with her, and is sewing his wild oats.
OMG! While this is occurring you then have Fern setting aside some extra's plus two and ....
Ok, Hold UP!
Daniel Hurst has written a novel that's nice, neat, and tidy. A strainght-in- your -face thriller.
Not much is hidden and everything is really airing out there as 'dirty laundry' is being tossed about on all sides.
So, who shall we believe?
When it comes to a front there's a few people who have passed, a few who have suffered miserably, and at least one who simply doesn't give a rat's hide because they've played this grieving individual & may have shocked the village but not themselves.
'Sorry for your loss' takes on quite a new meaning in this one because nobody is showing their true colors to the end as everyone is out to get whatever they can for selfish gains.
With gains come losses and when the other shoe falls it may just be the ultimate shocker.
The epilogue was quite the tricky expose....
Thank you to Daniel Hurst, Bookouture, and Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.

This book checks all the boxes. This is a domestic thriller about a Dr and his wife, whom he is cheating on !! Without giving away anything, this is written from different POV's and has so many twists that started from the beginning of the book. It was a 5 star read for me! I was hooked from the beginning and could not put down. A few plot twists seemed a bit predictable but there were enough surprises too!!!

Ok.. yes a great short story. Love that a lot. I wanted to be inside this inside two main characters to say what they should do.. why they did not see what I saw was an easy solution. But ok like life is not fair... somewthing in that spirit I accepted the story and I take it like that. Revenge is not my comfort theme but if you love you need to try this.

Thank you Bookouture and Netgalley for this opportunity

Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture and Daniel Hurst for letting me read “The Doctor’s Wife” in exchange for an honest review.
This is my first Daniel Hurst book and I loved it. This book keeps a good flow. You can't put it down but it isn't a heavy read. I prefer lighthearted thrillers rather than ones that leave me needing therapy. It has several twists and even when it is revealed the direction he is going, he still keeps you guessing. I loved it and will definitely read more of his books. It was clean where it alluded to intimate relationships but wasn't graphic.
It is about a couple who move out of the city for a fresh start and a quieter life but the husband has an ulterior motive. The wife discovers his motives and then we go for a ride with her through the journey. Honestly, you get to a point where you don't know who you are supposed to be rooting for but you can't put it down. I have stayed up many late nights finishing this book. I can't wait to look for more books by Daniel.

I enjoyed this book. I didn't love it, but I did enjoy it. It was an easy read, with some twists to keep one guessing and an ending that felt satisfying. The characters and setting were well-developed, with a great attention to detail. All in all, this book was entertaining and I would recommend it to others.

Doctor Drew Devlin.... man, oh man, did you ever underestimate her, you sure did. Hurst has outdone himself yet again with the curvy, windy, questionable path through the pages of this book that kept me captivated and honestly shocked me. The power of a wife behind the scenes is something that should never be underestimated, Doctor Devlin was perfect on the outside but as the say, karma always comes around.

My husband is a doctor. He's smart and charming and everybody trusts him. Except me. On the surface, it looks like I have it all - the perfect marriage, the perfect husband, the perfect life. But it's far from the truth. Doctor Drew Devlin is not the respectable figure he makes out to be. The reason we moved to this beautiful, old property with a gorgeous view of the sea was because we needed to put our past behind us. It should have been a fresh start for us both. Except I discover my husband has been lying to me again.

As usual, Daniel Hurst pulled me in from the first page of his new psychological thriller. The story is told from the doctor and his wife, Fern's perspectives. Fern is quite a vindictive character. But how far would she go to get her revenge on her husband? Doctor Drew Devlin is not all the man he appears to be. Drew is having an affair and will do anything to keep the woman in his life. Filled with secrets and lies, this fast paced read held my attention throughout. Some parts of the story were a bit predictable, but that didn't take anything away from my enjoyment. But I never saw the twist in the epilogue coming.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #Bookouture and the author #DanielHurst for my ARC of #TheDoctorsWife in exchange for an honest review.

This was a great thriller! I've read a few titles from Daniel Hurst and I've continued to be a fan of his work. This was a short read so I was able to read in one sitting and really enjoyed it.

I really love this authors work so much. Honestly he is quickly becoming a autobuy/autoread author for me. The way he tells stories is just amazing. Also the twists and turns in his books are just plain stunning. This book was no exception and really had me on the edge of my seat.

Overall I think this book was good, but could've been better. It was very predictable and nothing shocked me. Every plot point was very obvious. I wish there was more shocking reveals in the story.

I liked the dual POV, but hated both main characters. Though I think that was intentional for us to dislike them both.

The timeline did get a bit confusing at some points. Towards the end of the book, it keeps flashing back 6 months before they moved. But this got confusing to know the exact times because one scene in the present day is in one time then the next chapter in the present day mentions briefly about a few months passing before the trial. but then it flashes back to 6 months ago, but this would now be much longer than 6 months prior.

I finished this in 2 days so I was pretty intrigued by the story. This was an interesting plot. We get 2 POVs and towards the end, it moved between timelines. This was my first Daniel Hurst novel, so I didn't know what to expect but it was a great thriller. I couldn't stop reading it.

The story starts with Fern and Drew moving to the countryside but there's a secret and both of them are hiding the true reasons they moved here. Moving between both POVs, the readers get to see the story evolve and understand both of these characters.

I'm not going to lie, i didn't expect it to take such dark turns. I did not see a lot of the things coming and it took me by surprise how fast the story was moving. I was expecting a slow-burn thriller rather than one that was fast-paced. I enjoyed this a lot and cant wait to read more of Hurst's books.
