oh I loved going back to the island of Jersey once again with a book by Georgina Troy! What a delight of a book! Everything is yummy! The ice creams, Jersey's weather, the men (especially an italian one), and I loved the plot and the adventures in this book! I can't wait to read another book by Georgina Troy who is becoming one of my favorite author!!!

Sacha met Alessandro in Italy on her recent trip with her aunt to Rome. Her aunt fell unwell and has arranged for someone to take Sacha around Rome and that person is Alessandro. There is obvious attraction between both of them. When the holiday is over, Sacha return to her home in Jersey to run her café and ice cream sundae shop. Soon, she discovers that Alessandro is planning to open a gelato shop near her shop and he will be her direct competitor.

The book has a story plot that flow very well and it made it an easy to read. Love all the characters in this small community such as Bella, Jack and Rosie created by the author. Despite their small role in the story, these characters draw the readers into the story. Overall it is an enjoyable read to me.

A lovely read. Sacha goes on a holiday with her aunt and is taken sightseeing by a family friend, when she falls ill. She enjoys the company of Allesandro and sees the city through his eyes.
On returning to Jersey, she is dismayed to learn that a rival ice cream shop is opening the other end of the boardwalk. We are treated to some delicious sounding treats, a real sense of community and the warmth between the people who work on the boardwalk pulling together to help out.
It was the perfect introduction to a new series and I can't wait to read more.

I thought this was a lovely read.
Sasha meets Alessandro in Rome as she heads off with her Aunt on a cruise.
On returning to her seaside village home where she runs the Summer Sundaes Cafe, Alessandro turns up. His father has bought a gelateria in the same village asking his son to get it up and running for him. This now means the pair of them are in business competition with each other. Is there enough customers for both of them?

Wow, I didn’t expect to be sucked into this book but I couldn’t put it down, I read it in one sitting! I am so glad that Summer Sundaes On The Boardwalk will be a series and I can’t wait for the second book to come out! It made me want ice-cream and gelato and sunshine. Highly recommend if you want a sweet, summery read!

I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for a review and opinions are my own.

Sacha who owns a cafe in Jersey meets Allessandro while in Rome with her aunt she falls in love with him. He then comes to Jersey to open a rival ice cream shop. Loved the descriptions of Jersey as I've never been but this makes me want to go

Made me wish for summer weather and a trip to the beach, it's far too cold to be eating ice cream at the moment !
A nice easy read

A quick read but not great. The romance and relationship was muddled. The whole who painted the railing or the symbols thing was odd. Everyone seemed strangely fake and forced.

Summer Sundaes on the Boardwalk by Georgina Troy

I received an advance review copy for free thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Blurb

When Sacha Collins, cafe owner and sundae-maker extraordinaire, meets Italian archaeologist, Alessandro Salvatore in Rome, she's grateful to him for being her tour guide. Now he’s turned up in the seaside village where she lives and is setting up a gelateria in direct competition to her retro Summer Sundaes Café.

She's only been running her café for two years since taking over from her father. Until now the only other shops on the boardwalk have been a wool shop, an antique shop and a second-hand book shop. These have helped rather than hindered her custom. How will her creative sundaes made from fresh Jersey ice cream compete with his delicious Italian gelato?

Sacha is worried. Is there enough custom for both businesses to thrive? Who is behind the strange changes being made on the boardwalk? And when the oldest resident on the boardwalk is threatened with eviction can Sacha and Alessandro come together and find a way of helping her?

For a peaceful little boardwalk overlooking one of the quieter beaches on the island, there's an awful lot going on and some of it is going to lead to big changes.

My Opinion

I have yet to find a book by Georgina Troy that I have not enjoyed. This is a light and easy book to read. I found this book to be well-written with some great characters. A lovely book to read if you want to escape to the sun this winter!

Rating 4/5

Overall this book was a light and easy read. I think my favorite character had to be Sacha's aunt Rosie while they were in Rome. I would recommend to anyone who wants a little bit of summer vibes in the winter as it made me feel like I was at the boardwalk with Sacha. I do wish the chapters were a little shorter as they keep my attention better but overall was an easy and fun read for the winter time! I thought the recipes at the end was a fun touch so you could recreate the fun of the book at home!

If you want to escape from this horrible with this horrible winter weather then this is the book to read, sun, blue skies and golden beaches plus romance, what more could you want. 5 stars and enjoy.

I liked this book but it could have been so much better. I didn't feel at all the connection between Alessandro and Sacha when they were in Jersey, in Rome there was chemistry but it kind of disappeared. I also didn't really liked the fact that he didn't tell her that he was going to open a gelato shop even after he saw how close both shops were. And in my opinion the ending was a little rushed

What a lovely gorgeous book. Italy sounded perfect but Jersey was as Mediterranean as its Italian cousin. Lots of sky blue sea and beaches in both to make up for a cold wintry January. Sasha feels like gin along with her family and job at a cafe. Allesandro sounded gorgeous and like their story has more to go. In fact the intrigue about the markings on the boardwalk I need to know what they are.
Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange of an honest review.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I read this book in one sitting, it was so beautifully written.

It starts in Italy when the main character accompanies her aunt, and from there they are to go on a cruise, before returning to Jersey.

I loved the settings and the characters. It made me want to live on the boardwalk, near the sea.

I recommend this book.

A lovely, easy read which I read very quickly. The main character was very annoying but, that didn’t spoil my enjoyment of this sweet story. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

From the opening pages set in the beautiful city of Rome to the shores of Jersey, this was my first Georgina Troy book but it won't be my last. From the first page I instantly wanted to keep reading as Georgina educates us about Rome, giving us tourist information we might never have heard or known through her character Sacha Collins.

Having been bullied into joining her aunt, Rosie, for a cruise their first stop is Rome. Unbeknown to Sacha she had set her up with Alessandro, who has been asked to play tour guard to her. But upon meeting the man, Sacha soon finds herself enjoying being in his company. Before long she hears his past and returns, as planned, to Jersey. Ah Georgina tells such a gorgeous story that has a backdrop of secrets, ice cream, cafes and maybe finding true love along the way. You can't help but hope that Sacha finds that with Alessandro. After all who can resist an Italian who is a gorgeous former model?

The book is such a easy read and I loved reading about the history of Jersey. I wanted to keep reading. The book is so well written with characters that are easy to love. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series and maybe catching up with Sacha and who knows maybe Alessandro, too? It leaves you hanging wanting to know if things work out between them?

When you mention “for fans of Holly Martin”, you mean me. Holly Martin fan from the very beginning. But honestly… this book doesn’t hold a candle to Holly’s books.
It is a very light read, to light for my tastes. The characters are not fleshed out and I really missed that cozy feeling Holly Martin en Jo Thomas put in their books.
And maybe, just maybe the book wasn’t for me because I couldn’t stand the characters.
I didn’t like Italian love interest Alessandro. Maybe it was his awful accent or just the fact that he is a lying bastard.
And I didn’t like the main character Sacha, who just is a cardboard figure. She gets gaslighted and just smiles and is like oke let’s forget about that and kiss.
So no, I will not be indulging in this author in the future.
