Tell-Tale Bones is the twenty sixth book in the Sarah Booth Delaney mystery series. When Private Investigators, Sarah Booth Delaney and Tinkie get a new case dealing with two friends who have been missing for six years they do everything in their power to unravel the mystery surrounding this disappearance.

I have read a few books in this series and I enjoy following Sarah Booth and her PI investigations. I enjoy the characters and the antics that they get up to when trying to solve a case. Sarah Booth and Tinkie together always seems to lead to a good time! This book was interesting and full of mystery and I’m glad I got the chance to read it. I really enjoyed the ending of this book and how everything tied together.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book!

Sarah Booth and the gang are back and I was hooked once again. This case takes her and Tinkie on a wild journey for answers. The mystery is intriguing. I can't get enough Sarah Booth and Coleman. These stories are at heart about relationships, friends and family, and community. The descriptions of the settings always makes me feel like I'm right there. And the cast of characters feel like old friends. I'm never disappointed by this series.

"Tell-Tale Bones" by Carolyn Haines the 26th instalment in the "A Sarah Booth Delaney Mystery" series which releases on May 16th. I absolutely love this series!

They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night. In their gray visions, they obtain glimpses of eternity, and thrill, in waking, to find that they have been upon the verge of the great secret." ~Edgar Allen Poe

I always enjoy visiting with Sarah and Tinkie it’s like coming home to old friends. I always learn something about the history of the Deep South and woman’s rights movement. Sarah Booth is a very independent woman and Tinkie is a “Daddy’s Girl” but also independent despite her upbringing this makes the perfect partners at Delaney Investigations.

I really felt for the missing woman as no one should have to tolerate abuse but as we learned there was a time sadly the privileged rich and powerful could.

There were plenty of twists and turns and lots to keep you intrigued. I found this book to be a real page-turner, and reading in one day.

I’m looking forward to the next instalment

I highly recommend this book and series to all my cozy mystery friends.

I requested and received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from St. Martins Press and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my OWN.

I love this quote as it's absolutely perfect for acquainting me with the Sarah Booth Delaney Series. My gosh, this is book TWENTY-SIX! Have I been under a rock? The best thing is that I now have a beautiful catalog to gather and enjoy. I was wildly entertained and wholeheartedly filled with joy getting to know Sarah and the cast of characters that surround her. This was so much fun. I loved it.

Sarah Booth, Tinkie and of course, Jitty, are back in Tell-Tale Bones by Carolyn Haines. Working on a cold case of a woman who disappeared, possibly at the hands of an abusive husband, Sarah Booth and Tinkie keep finding themselves at seemingly dead ends. They soon realize they aren't looking for just one missing woman, but 2, and search all over the county to track down clues.

Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.

This book was a surprise to me. I didn’t realize it is part of a series and most importantly I didn’t know there was a ghost trickster involved! After I read on a bit I got the idea and it was an enjoyable and humorous read.

Sarah Booth and Tinkie's latest case involves a search for a missing daughter. This highlights other cold cases in the region of missing daughters. Sarah Booth takes it to heart as she misses her mother and what could have been. It is a convoluted investigation as there is no proof the woman is dead or alive except for recent sightings that may be iffy and potential witnesses are not forthcoming.

A big thanks to publisher for offering me an ARC! As with all of Sarah Booth Delaney’s adventures the deep South, this one did not disappoint! Returning to this delightful mystery series after a long hiatus really felt like a long-overdue reunion with some old friends. This is the 26th in the series (wow!), and it’s clear that these characters have really come into their own over the decades. Really, for me, the whodunnit is secondary to the beautiful Zinnia, Mississippi setting, where Sarah and her soulmate Sheriff Coleman Peters ride horses together amidst the rolling green hills to watch the sunrise…ah, such sweet bliss. Might I just add that it is about dang time these two finally got together! Ugh…all that silliness between Sarah and Graf is over and Coleman’s certifiably insane ex-wife is no longer imprisoning him by sheer guilt alone! As for the cold-case mystery, I really must give it five stars! We’re dealing with a distraught woman looking for her missing daughter, an evil woman abuser with powerful connections, a mysterious raven, and an Edgar Allen Poe theme. The plot thickens when we learn the missing daughter is one of many troubled teens who vanished over the years. The intrigue really had me tearing through the pages until I finally reached the satisfying ending with zero plot holes. This book really has it all—ghosts, seances, grave diggings and cute animal sidekicks to boot! I just loved this entire adventure and look forward to accompanying my girls, Tinkie and Sarah, as they embark on their next escapade through the Mississippi Delta alongside their fur-babies.

I loved this book. Ms. Haines’ characters are well defined and I love the ‘haint’ Jitty, who is a very colorful character.
Sarah Booth and her friend Tinkie run a P.I. firm successfully in their small southern town, Sarah being able to see ghosts and engaged to Coleman, a sheriff help them to uncover things, as well as a dear friend who is psychic.
We are treated to intrigue, paranormal, romance and humor in this tale. It’s a winner!
I requested and ‘Yoo Hoo’ received a NetGalley ARC to peruse gratis and cheerfully offer my opinion in the same.

Sarah Booth and Tinkie look into the disappearance of a woman who was in an abusive marriage. Suspects abound, including the husband who seems ready to have his wife declared dead and move on. Good character development, especially for Tinkie who has come so far from any stereotype of a Sothern belle in this series. Your enjoyment of this series may depend on your interest in paranormal elements and tolerance for a regularly appearing ghost. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

Sarah Booth is back for another great mystery filled adventure! I really love the characters in this series, Jitty being my favorite!! This series is one of my favorites, and this book did not disappoint!! The storyline was interesting and I didn’t see the ending coming! I would highly recommend this book to everyone!!

Tinkie and Sarah Booth find themselves working on a cold case, which soon ties into a current case, so the ladies are working with Coleman and his team. The question is whether a young socialite is still alive after all this time, or whether she has been dead at the hands of her husband all along.

A seance, digging up dirt on the past, figuratively and literally, and tracking clues that seem to change with each person they speak with leaves the ladies treading water at times, but Sarah Booth and Tinkie need to figure this one our or there will be even more blood shed.

This is book 26 in this series and I absolutely adore it! Set in the deep south of the Mississippi Delta, there’s history, ghosts, and Southern belles that make for an interesting whodunit each and every time! This series doesn’t get old, it just gets better!

Tell-Tale Bones is an interesting story. I was not sure I would like it when I started reading it but as I got into the story I really enjoyed it. The story takes place in Zinnia, Mississippi. The main character is Sarah Booth Delaney who owns Delaney Detective Agency along with her partner, Tinkie Richmond. Dahlia House is her family house that she inherited and lives in along with a ghost named Jitty. Sheriff Coleman Peters is her boyfriend. There are other characters in the story that live in Zinnia.

The story opens when her high school friend Tammy Odom (Madame Tomeeka) who is a fortune teller comes to see Sarah and tells her that she had the strangest dream that scares her. She keeps hearing a thumping sound like a steady heartbeat in the floor. The dream relates to Edgar Alan Poe's short story.

Elisa Redd wants to hire Sarah and Tinkie to find her daughter Lydia who disappeared 6 years ago along with her best friend, Bethany Carter. Tote Maxwell has filed papers to declare his wife Lydia legally dead. Lydia was a very wealthy woman. They had been married about a year. There were signs that she was abused, Did he kill her? It is rumored that he is engaged to Vivian Dantzeler. Sarah and Tinkie decide to take the case to help Elisa find out the truth. They start asking questions, They go and speak to Vivian and see that she too has bruises, Later they find out that Vivian was dead from falling off the balcony of Tope's house. Did she fall or was she pushed by Tope?

This is where the story takes off and takes the reader on an adventure of finding the truth. Is Lydia and Bethany alive or dead. Did Tope push Vivian off the balcony, etc. There is so much going on in the story that I will leave it to the reader to enjoy to the climax ending. The funniest part of the story is when Tammy does a séance at Tote's house as he wants to ask Lydia questions.

Thank you NetGalley and Minotaur Books for this ARC.

I absolutely adore the Sarah Booth Delaney series by Charlaine Harris. The way that she imparts her feminist views throughout the book is fantastic, and I absolutely adore the way that the women in the book depend on each other and support each other. The mystery for this one was intriguing, and I was glad that there were not too many sad pieces.

My only complaint is that the relationship with Coleman and Sarah Booth needs to move forward. They need to get married and start a family because it is obvious that they are trending that way.

Overall, I recommend this book to other cozy mystery lovers.

Tell-Tale Bones, the twenty-sixth book in the Sarah Booth Delaney Mysteries series by Carolyn Haines, enraptures the reader with a fast-paced journey of complex and insightful layers of mystery, suspense, tension, and a parent/child love that transcends even the evilest of an inherent psyche...reaching a pinnacle in the rectification of the immoral and sinful nature of a man whose privilege goes unchecked

Sarah Booth, Tinkie, and their devoted friends (two and four-legged alike) once again give depth and dimension to the tale as they probe for missing persons who were determined to disappear. The story’s chain of events took the types of twists and turns that keep readers engaged, emotionally invested, and rapidly turning pages.

With the characters, I’ve grown so fond of over the years, and their wit, humor, and rapid-fire repartee I’ve come to expect from Ms. Haines’ storytelling I was able to once again lose myself in the beauty of the Mississippi Delta and the vivaciousness of a heroine I look forward to becoming reacquainted with during each visit of Zinnia, Mississippi I'm swept away to.

This ARC was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily submitting my honest review.

Sarah Booth and her friends are drawn into the case of a woman who disappeared almost 7 years ago. Her husband is now trying to have her declared dead while her mother hopes to prove she is alive and stop the husband from benefiting from her inheritance. Filled with the usual great characters and an interesting string of dead gothic authors. Wonderful.
