Giglio always manages to hit me where it needs healing. I recommend this for anyone who is lacking in the parent department. It's a good reminder that the fatherless are not Fatherless. It definitely was good for me and my soul.

Louie Giglio’s Seeing God as a Perfect Father is such a comforting book. Giglio encourages his readers to know that we are uniquely who we are and loved by God. Using this knowledge, Giglio invites us to break free from our pasts and embrace this walk with God. I voluntarily read and reviewed this complimentary copy of this well-written, uplifting book that I will refer to often on my spiritual journey.

I love this author and everything he writes. I love his writing style and how he challenges me in my faith. This is an author that I have shared with my son since he was little and he is now old enough to enjoy this book of Louie's as well. Great book that got me thinking and one I will definitely be talking about with others.

This book is all about the name of God as Father and how because of that we are loved deeply by him. This is good for those who have deep father wounds that impact the way we view God as Father. He goes through the 9 different types of fathers and how that impacts our views and how God is different from that. I could see how this book could be very healing for someone in the beginning of exploring their earthly father wounds and how it impacts their view of God. I just wish Wishing it would have gone deeper into the character of God as Father instead of just repeating that God is Father and we are deeply loved by him (which is still a great reminder to the reader). Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for a review. Book was released 6/6/2023

Overall, I liked this book. The content was a great reminder of the perfect father that God is and that I am loved by him. However, I felt that it was repetitive in some ways.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Good read! This book helps to identify some of the wounds people carry from their earthly fathers and shows how God is different and better and MORE than the impressions of fatherhood some have been left with. Recommended!

Giglio is a big name, but I had never read anything by him before. This book was previously released under a different title, Not Forgotten, but rebranded and released under this title.

The content is good. At some points, I thought he was going to give the reader some practical steps or journaling assignments (which I thought would be helpful - and make me sweat!) but he didn't quite get around to practical application, which is a shame.

There is a lot of truth in this book. I was blessed to read it. Just think it could have gone a lot further as far as practical discipleship and next steps.

We look to God to be fill so many roles, but God as Father is especially important. No matter your relationship (or lack of) with your earthly father, Louie helps readers navigate a better relationship with their Heavenly Father. I found it to be repetitive at times, but the reminder is beautiful and needs to be repeated.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. It serves as a great reminder that God is my Father, and I am immensely loved by Him. However, I also found myself wanting more as I read the book....I wanted Louie to dive deeper into the character of God. The book was very repetitive in terms of reminding the reader that God is our Father and we are loved by Him. This ARC was given to me by Thomas Nelson in exchange for honest review. All opinions are my own.

Nothing beats a father's love. And for those of us who have negative experiences with our fathers - or who even have good relationships - this book is incredible in showcasing how to relate to God as Father. If you've never heard the term "father wound", or want to know how to heal from father wounds and how to experience the BEST relationship with your Heavenly Father, then READ. THIS. BOOK! It's so clear and easy to read. Louie uses his own experiences to help address the entire gamut of father-child relationships. You are sure to find something here for your own situation, no matter how unique.

However, because he is so varied, there are times it felt like I was sifting through the book to try to find the situations that applied to me. It was really broad in scope, but that is useful especially when dealing with multiple people or understanding how God is better than all father types.

“God wants you to know who God is… A Father who gave you life, made you uniquely you, adores you, and wants to be a part of your life…He can transform our lives through the power of that perfect love so that no matter what loss we have walked through in life, we can live free…what unites us is the need that’s woven into our souls—the need to be loved, and treasured, and noticed, and accepted by our father.” And in addition to all this, “He has woven into your heart a gift and a dream so that you can invest your days in meaningful pursuits that make your heart come alive and help others’ hearts come alive also.”
The precious truths and promises of this book will split open and repair so much for those of us who need to know or be reminded that “The God of heaven is for you. He sees you. And He wants you to know the joy of being a child of God and of having the most excellent Father possible.”
This book will be a balm and a blessing to so many. It should be on a must-read list for every Christian and for every person hurt and seeking healing from an imperfect father or father figure.
