I was really excited for this book. Unfortunately the format wasn't not for me. There was so many different povs that I found myself going back to refresh up who was who and what was going on. I Unfortunately dnf this one 39%.

Thank you netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this ebook in exchange for a honest review.

I really liked this book! From the beginning I wasn’t completely hooked and I liked getting to know each character. The plot moved pretty steadily for each character and I found myself rooting for them all. I like that each of the characters were written by a different author because they all sounded different but their lives intertwined well. It was a fun read that I would definitely recommend others check out.

Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the ARC.

I was not a fan of the play format of this book and did not make it very far. This was not my cup of tea so I cannot give a fair rating.

With a cast of amazing writers, it's not surprise how much I adored House Party. I was hesitant because of the numerous points of view -- sometimes that confuses or irritates me but I loved each character and their story so completely that I was happy to get back to every character's point of view. The way the stories were written and intersected exemplified the energy of a house party perfectly and yet somehow it made complete sense and didn't feel chaotic. I've never read a story collection that felt so cohesive and fun. Highly recommend!

This novel was so good!

At first, I was finding it a bit difficult managing all of the different characters and POVs, but once I found my flow, I couldn’t stop reading!

I love how each character was developed and how their lives and stories intertwined.

This was all-in-all an amazing anthology that I couldn’t stop reading!

This was a fun unique ride! The story surrounds a graduation party and switches between so many different povs.
Very light hearted and fun with cute romance with love able characters.

I hope it becomes a movie- it would translate to film so well.

Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Children’s for an eARC.

I am a strong believer that we need more books like this in the mainstream. That being said, something about this book fell flat. I don’t know if the authors were too focused on developing the characters rather than developing the plot, but I didn’t love the book as much as I expected. I also recognize that I may not be the target audience and while that is okay, I will keep this book in mind for the future.

This one was so cute, and I actually laughed out loud at parts. It was so cool to see some of my favorite YA authors do a book together. Any fans of Whiteout or Blackout will enjoy this one too.

Film studios should be fighting for the rights to House Party; it's a fresh, diverse teen comedy-slash-drama-slash-romance packaged beautifully and ready for the big screen. The characters, the drama, the EPIC house party at which it all comes together. This was an incredible YA ensemble, written by 10 different, bestselling teen authors, though you would never know it by how smoothly the narratives are woven together.

The diverse cast of characters in the book can feel a little overwhelming at first as the authors switch from voice to voice at a whirlwind pace. We have The Jock, The Artist, The Class Clown, The Emo Band Kid, The Actor, The Popular Girl, The Influencer, and others, all together in one place, slowly revealing their true selves to the reader. We see how they present themselves and, later, who they really are.

Each character has a unique story and, at least at this party, a very sweet Happily Ever After. This was a feel-good romp through the Last Big Night before these kids moved on to bigger and better things. It was a blast to read it. I give it 10/10 stars and recommend it to anyone who loves great characters and fresh perspectives.

House Party by Justin A. Reynolds was entirely experimental for me and was entertaining, to say the least! It was a fun romp of a read!

Unfortunately this book wasn't for me. I had to DNF around 30% in. I felt as if the story was going no where and it was hard to remember each character that had importance in the story. I was really hoping to love this one, but it just didn't happen. But, if you're someone who loves to keep up with multiple characters with a single location -- this one is for you! It was written very well and the characters were likable.

This book was perfection. No notes. All vibes, interesting stories and an overall feel good book that felt like a 90s teen movie and I’m here for it.

Can we talk about the fact that Carla is my favorite character, and I was cackling every time I got to her story. I even shared with my students about her unfortunate cookie mishap and had them all interested in the book. Every character was a wonderful stand alone character but the stories weaving together on that fateful night? Again simply perfect. I don’t think this review needs to be inundated with plot description. Like I said before it’s all vibes and 90s teen movies. Debauchery, romance, confusion, and a dog and goat that also steal the show. I loved it. I want everyone to read this because it’s somehow fresh and nostalgic at the same time.

This is SUCH a fun read, featuring characters penned by some of today's most exciting YA authors.

There's a house party tonight, and readers are invited to join it in a unique way: through the views of 10 high school students, not to mention the neighbor's dog, Daisy, and Daisy's semi-delusional person, the middle-aged (well, close) neighbor herself. Each of these characters comes to the party with a specific goal in mind, and while some are achievable, others become lessons about what is actually important. It's a blast to see each of these characters progress individually (and readers can do this easily because each character has several interspersed sections), but it's also a lot of fun to see the connections between them.

Admittedly, there was one character who felt like an outlier in a negative way at first, but even that one won me over after their first section.

I recommend this as a quick, easy read with a creative structure, and I am excited to share it with my students. There's something for almost everyone here, and I expect that this book will be a real draw for many young (and less young) readers alike!

When I was able to see Angeline Boulley speak at a conference and I heard her mention this book and the collaboration among these ten amazing authors, I immediately requested it and couldn’t believe my luck that I was granted access to an advanced reading copy. Thank you so much, NetGalley, authors, and Random House Children’s.

This book centers on one day - leading up to a raging, epic high school party (likely the last for these seniors) at DeAndre’s house, and then everything that goes down during the party. Each of the authors takes on different perspectives to capture the diverse group of students and their diverse experiences, hopes, dreams, and struggles finding themselves and what’s important. We hear from all sorts of archetypes such as the popular girl, the class clown, the jock, and the influencer. None of them fit nicely in the confines set for them in that role.

I was so engaged throughout the entire read and couldn’t put it down. I loved how the characters wove together and learning about what made them tick. I can’t even decide which character or storyline was my favorite. I was surprised by how much social media played a role in these young people’s definition of success and recognition. I didn’t connect with the battle to be the top in streaming stats or aspiring to go viral, but I learned a lot!

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to have this book in my middle school classroom due to content, but high school teachers will definitely be able to use it with some of their readers. I am absolutely recommending it to my friends, it definitely doesn’t feel like YA.

The various authors do a great job in telling this story, I enjoyed the concept of the interconnecting stories and the characters within. They worked well overall in this story and I was invested in their lives. It did everything that I was hoping for and I was hooked from the first page. I really enjoyed reading this and can't wait for more from the authors.

I admittedly haven't read many anthologies, but I really loved the way this one was executed! The interwoven narratives painted such a vivid picture of the party, along with giving a deeper look at all of the characters and their relationships with one another. I especially loved the inclusion of the illustrated segments! This was also my first time reading justin a. reynolds' work and I'll definitely be checking out his backlog ASAP!

This is a brilliant idea, and it was brilliantly executed by all of these stellar YA authors. The characters were deeply developed and the way the stories wove themselves together was fascinating to experience. I can imagine teens will adore this.
