The Diva Delivers on a Promise by Krista Davis is a great addition to a fun series of cozy mysteries. This author, Krista Davis, never disappoints and I enjoy this series as well as her other series. Can’t wait for her next offering of fun. Thank you Net Galley.

Sophie is a lifestyle and entertaining guru who solves crimes in her spare time. This outing, Sophie's handling a large convention when she gets the chance to attend a charity luncheon at a lavish house, and she is excited to get a peek at the place. But unfortunately, she finds a dead body inside, and the tangle of mysteries is only beginning.

Davis always delivers a well-written, interesting, and solidly plotted mystery. This series is fun for me to revisit, and I love catching up with Sophie and her friends, including her friendly ex-husband, Mars. I keep hoping for a second-chance romance between Sophie and Mars, but all of the relationships in this series have their charms. Even the one with Sophie's over-the-top frenemy and competitor, Natasha, provides some laughs. One of my favorite things about these books is how each chapter opens with an Advice Column entry written by Sophie or Natasha, which showcases the work these characters do, providing lifestyle tips and showcasing the big differences in the characters' personalities. This story involves multiple crimes, and Davis keeps the misdirections coming, but she wraps everything up nicely to provide a satisfactory ending. Davis is reliably good, and fans of this series will not be disappointed!
Also, I will be trying the recipes at the end of this one. Yum!

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the opportunity to review this ARC. I enjoyed it!

The Diva Delivers on a Promise is book #16 in the Domestic Diva Mystery series by Krista Davis.

Sophie is attending a luncheon regarding A Healthy Meal. Things are just getting underway when a body is discovered.

I wish I could be friends with Sophie! I’m a huge fan of this series and this book did not disappoint. Sophie, Nina, Mars, Bernie, Wong, and Francie are great characters. I really enjoy visiting with them. I hadn’t heard of ghost kitchens before so that was interesting. I always enjoy Sophie and Nina being on the case. There are several recipes at the end. Good characters, interesting mystery, lots of good food - I recommend this book.

Thank you to the author, Kensington Books, and NetGalley for the Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

“The Diva Delivers a Promise ” the 16th instalment in the Domestic Diva Mystery series by Krista Davis. Entertaining guru Sophie Winston is coordinating a convention for ghost kitchens in Old Town, Alexandria–and trying to keep a killer from making a deadly delivery…

I really enjoy this series! I really like Sophie, she is relatable, interesting and I love her relationship with her BFF Nina and her ex Mars as well as several other residents of Old Town. I liked how the characters were there for each other, no matter what was happening.

The mystery itself was interesting, full of twists and turns, red herrings all of which completely drew me into the story. I didn’t want to put the book down and read it till the wee hours.

I highly recommend this book to all my cozy mystery loving friends.

I requested and received an Advanced Readers Copy from Kensington Books and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Diva Delivers on a Promise by Krista Davis has Sophie Winston attending a luncheon at Geraldine Stansfield’s historic home for those involved in A Healthy Meal. The ladies walk into the dining room to find a man dead with a knife in his chest. The Diva Delivers on a Promise gets off to a compelling start. When Geraldine and her family members become the prime suspects, she needs Sophie’s help. Sophie will need to work in sleuthing in between overseeing the first Association of Ghost Kitchens convention. I had not heard of ghost kitchens prior to reading this book. I found it to be an interesting concept. The mystery was well plotted. There is quite a bit going on. There are two murders plus other unusual events that kept occurring. I had fun following the clues and figuring out the various mysteries. I wish it had not been such a hodgepodge because the main mystery was not the focus. I had to laugh at Sophie and Nina tailing various individuals. They made sure to bring along snacks (like they were going to the movies). The details of who, what, and why are provided at the end. I am disappointed in the way the author handles Sophie’s personal life. Sophie’s work life seems to be the author’s priority. We get thrown a bone now and then with regard to her personal life. I find this series different from Krista Davis’s other cozy mysteries in the regard (so different from her A Paws & Claws Mysteries). The Diva Delivers on a Promise is the sixteenth A Domestic Diva Mystery. I suggest reading this series in order so you can get to know the characters and their storylines. It is hard to read a book from this series as a standalone. I like the letters with answers at the beginning of the chapters. It is obvious that Sophie and Natasha have different styles. There are recipes at the end including one or two for cocktails. The Diva Delivers on a Promise is an epicurean cozy with a ladies luncheon, a dead dude, suspicious siblings, delivered dinners, a chaotic convention, and tasty tidbits.

Sophie is looking forward to the get together at Geraldine Stansfield house where they will be discussing A Healthy Meal, an organization that provides meals for needy children. Everyone arrives and the set up is lovely that is all except for the dead body. Geraldine had run out for a moment so she says she doesn't know what happened to the young man. The cops arrive and it looks like Geraldine is their main suspect. Sophie believes her friend is innocent and agrees to look into things for her. She soon realizes that her friends family has many hidden secrets. Follow along as Sophie delves into those secrets in hopes of nabbing a killer and clearing her friends name.

Sophie Winston is an event planner whose latest event is a convention of delivery only "ghost" kitchens. However, it's while attending a committee meeting of a local group dedicated to making sure children in need have healthy meals to eat that she ends up investigating a murder.

The Domestic Diva series is one of my favorites and it's always great spending time with Sophie and her friends Nina, Mars, and Bernie. She and Nina make a great team looking into the murder and uncovering secrets that provide a motive for several Old Town Alexandria residents. Sophie and Nina often laugh at the antics of Sophie's longtime frenemy Natasha Smith, who has just started a cookie delivery business. However, I find her entitled attitude annoying to say the least. I enjoy the other main characters and have my fingers crossed that a development in Sophie's personal life will progress the way I'm hoping, but it was left up in the air.

The solution to the mystery is complicated, but the way things are wrapped up is satisfying. As always, each chapter begins with letters from either Sophie or Natasha's domestic advice column and there are recipes at the end of the book that sound tasty. If only I had Sophie's cooking talent!

I received an advance copy of this ebook at no cost from NetGalley and Kensington Books. My review is voluntary and unbiased.

A great addition to a charming series. Lots of familiar characters along with the new ones. Food is the recurring theme, besides murder. Really enjoy the contrasting advice given at the beginning of the chapters. Quick to catch on as to which character is giving the advice, providing a bit of humor as well as practical advice. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

First off, thanks to #NetGalley for the chance to read this! Krista Davis is probably my favorite cozy author. She NEVER disappoints and this one is no exception to that rule. Love Sophie and all her cohorts. A good mystery and some good recipes to boot. Another home run in a first class series! A 10 for sure!

These books are such fun to read, like returning to a small town you grew up in and everyone remembers you. Plus they are stuffed with delicious food suggestions and recipes!

Sophie Winston is attending a luncheon for the charity, A Healthy Meal, at the perfect hostess' home. What she isn't counting on is the dead man with a knife in his chest that disrupts things. To further add to the plot, Sophie's friend Wong's smarmy, sweet-talking ex-husband has returned to Old Town and is stirring up trouble. How many murders will there be and how will Sophie ever narrow down a lengthy suspect list?

I do delight in this series, although I am about as far from domestic as Henrietta, the senator's wife, in this book. I adore the cast of characters, especially Bernie. These always leave me hungry. I look forward to the next one.

In this 16th in series our protagnist Sophie is attending a lunch meeting for a childrens charity when a murder occurs . The prime suspect is Sophie.'s friend the hostess of the party. The Diva doesn't just deliver a promise in this book, she delivers a great plot wrapped around interesting characters and a whole lot of fun between dead bodies! Once again, the author has woven an intriguing story of murder, mayhem and mystery to keep us entertained for hours while also enlightening us on an aspect of the restaurant industry that I was unaware of! I love the concept of ghost kitchens, just wish there were more of them near me! As usual, I would love to head to Old Town and meet up with Sophie and Nina for a glass of iced tea and a whole lot of fun, but alas meeting up with fictional characters just isn't in the cards for me so I'll have to make do with waiting for the next book in the Diva series to come out so I can see what happens next especially in Sophie's personal life!!

I really enjoyed this twisty-turny mystery. I love this series. The characters feel like old friends by now and they’re always getting into silly mischief.

This was a lovely addition to the series. We got a little more background on Wong and some of the neighbours. I enjoyed that new perspective. The mystery wasn’t super easy to solve and kept me guessing right until the end. This was a quick read but well paced with lifelike characters and a well developed story.

I love a good, casual, cozy read.
Highly recommend this one.

Sophie tries to figure out the mystery of the dead person in her friend's home. The family are the first suspects, but Sophie is certain her friend did not commit the murder. Lots of red herrings in this story, leaving the reader guessing until the end. Love these characters but I hope that the author doesn't rekindle the relationship between Sophie and her ex. Their current status seems healthy and mature. A good read overall! Can't wait for the next installment!

Hard to believe this is the 16th book in the series. I read only a few, but Ms. Davis writes the series as one could read as a standalone. Although it is fun and helps to know the characters from the previous books. Once again Sophie is caught up with solving a murder mystery. When invited to a luncheon at a friend’s house who would have thought there be a dead body in the dining room! As she and her friends band together to find the murderer and prove the hostess is innocent with many suspects that leads to dead ends, Another body is found at the same place, when they reschedule the luncheon and all fingers point again to the hostess. But in Sophie mind it doesn’t add up. Many twists and turns involving the solving of this mystery.
The characters are wonderful and as always some great tips and recipes are included. Thank you NetGalley for this eARC. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story. #NetGalley #TheDivaDeliversonaPromise #KristaDavis #KensingtonPublishing

I keep trying with this series but I always come back to wishing it were set somewhere other than Old Town Alexandria- a very real place with a very real police force (as well as the Fairfax County Police and lots of other law enforcement) that would take over the investigations that Sophie runs. This time out, she's there when a body is found in Gerrys elegant home just before a charity event. And it turns out there are lots of secrets, lies, and so on. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. I know others will enjoy this more than I did.

This is book 16 in the Domestic Diva Mystery series. I haven’t read all of the previous books, but I have read several of them and think that they work as standalones. I really enjoy Krista Davis as an author and I think it’s her talent that has me loving so much a cozy mystery series about a domestic diva (which would not be my natural inclination). Sophie, our amateur sleuth, is headed to a luncheon with some of the ladies of town but when they get there they find a dead man, stabbed with the hostess’ knife. Sophie knows her friend couldn’t have done this so she can’t help but investigate. I really liked the twist sand turns the mystery took and found all the characters to be very interesting. I did enjoy that ghost kitchens were so prominently featured in this one as it was something I had never heard of before.

The Diva Delivers on a Promise is the sixteenth mystery in the A Domestic Diva Mystery series. When Sophie Winston, an event planner and amateur sleuth, ends up at the scene of another dead body, her friend asks her to get to the bottom of it. As always, with the help of her friends, Sophie sleuths until the truth in revealed.

I have loved every book in this series and this one is no different! I was so excited when I saw this book was coming out and I couldn’t wait to read it. It definitely didn’t disappoint! This book and series is full of great, likable characters and fun mysteries. I especially love the main character, Sophie, and half the time I feel like I want to be her when I grow up! I enjoyed getting to meet new Old Town characters and learn a little more about Officer Wong in this book. I highly recommend this book and series and can’t wait to see what else is in store for Sophie!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book!

This is the 16th book in this long running series. But only the 2nd book in the series that I have read. The first book I read is book #15 and honestly, most of my opinions on this series hasn't changed. But I do find myself warming up to it.

I said this in my first review with book #15, and I'll say it again for this book(#16). Not a great standalone book to read. But doable if not familiar with the series. Story is interesting but there is an onslaught of characters early on and I often found myself struggling to keep up with who each character is. And how they're related.

I am not a fan of Krista Davis's writing style. There is something about her prose that I find stark. But the plot was interesting. The mystery of not just one murder but 2 AND an attempted murder AND adding on to all the other odd events and wanting to know how they crossed over each other and why... Whew! It was a lot and kept the mysteries interesting. Not overwhelming, but exciting. I didn't find it a hard mystery to solve, but the relationships between the characters took time to work out. I really wanted the Jessica Fletcher moment when everything was laid out, explained, and resolved. We sort of get that at the end. Felt more like playing CLUE. (Col. Mustard, in the library, with the candle stick.) Solid 3 stars on this go around with the Domestic Diva Mystery Series. Nice cozy. And I'm willing to continue with it.

Thank you #netgalley & #Kensington for the kindle ARC.
