The Summer Girl is book #3 in the Avalon Bay Series by Elle Kennedy and I am here for this series. While you can read this book as a stand alone, it is better to read the entire series to get background knowledge on Avalon Bay and the characters.

Cassie's grandparents owned the hotel The Beacon and has sold the hotel and her home in Avalon Bay. Cassie goes to spend one last summer with her grandmother and it determined to find a summer fling. Insert Tate, just broken up with and happens to be Cassie's neighbor for the summer. The pair decide maybe they should just be friends and Tate helps Cassie as her wingman. Can Tate let Cassie be with someone else?

The Summer Girl is an amazing addition to the Avalon Bay Series. It has small town romance, opposites attract, slow burn, friends to lovers...what more do you need?

I love a good friends to lovers book. I am a summer person at my core and this bok warmed my heart! Such a great beach read. If you want a book where you can justy sit back, relax, and enjoy the characters, this is for you!

I really enjoyed The Summer Girl, and have a been a fan of this series! The Summed Girl had a fun, sweet and spicy storyline filled with lots memorable scenes. There was great chemistry between the characters. I loved the dual POV and how the storyline moved forward while each character’s thoughts. I loved Tate, he was the perfect male lead. I would recommend this book!

I did not realize this was part of a series but I still enjoyed it! I like the writing style and found it to be a light, breezy, romance book. I typically read thrillers but I needed a palate cleanser and I think this was the perfect one!

I recommend this book if you like beach reads and romance! I will be checking out the rest of the series

Having read the first two books in the Avalon Bay series as well, I would say this book follows the same writing style, so depending on how you feel about those books, you will likely feel similarly about this one. It is a quick, easy, small town romance book that doesn't make you think too hard, which is sometimes fun to read, especially in the summer or by a pool/beach.

The main characters are people we have been introduced to in previous books but it definitely could be read as a standalone and I don't think you would miss out on too much, other than some of the dynamics of the relationships.

My Final Say: I am in love with this story. I cannot even. I'm still crying over what happened. Thankfully, happy tears are running down my face. Brilliant!

Other: This NA novel was about so much more than romance. It was about family dynamics, relationships, trust and truth, betrayal, forgiveness, and more. It was a stunning, meaningful, contemporary work of fiction.

This book was almost unreadable. I have loved Elle Kennedy's collabs with Sarina Bowen, and did binge both her Off Campus and Briar U series. But this book was so hard to get into and stay into. It was written immaturely. The MMC says the FMMC "has a nice rack" more than once in this novel. It was written with the mid 00s crass vibe I didn't appreciate. The cheating and abortion thrown out in the. middle of the parental fights at the end were gimmicky. I wanted more.

Elle Kennedy’s third book in her Avalon Bay series proves to be just as fun as the previous two. Cassie is in Avalon Bay for the summer and Tate is her playboy neighbor who she propositioned for a summer fling to gain some experience. They were super sweet. I really loved the banter between them. The romance progressed slowly but cutely nonetheless. The third act inevitability was annoying but I understand it. Overall, this is definitely a fun summer book giving beach vibes and I enjoyed it.

The third installment of the Avalon Bay series revolves around college student Cassie Soul. She intends to return to Avalon Bay for the summer to spend time with family, celebrate her 21st birthday, and perhaps indulge in a summer fling. She crosses paths with the town casanova, Tate Bartlett, and thus begins their slow burn summer romance. Overall, the plot and character dynamics were somewhat predictable, but it was an enjoyable beach town read.

I really enjoyed this story! I had to backtrack and read the books that came before it so that I was up to speed on all the characters, but they were all good. It's a great series and I think this book was my favorite from all of them.

One last summer romcom for this year! This is #3 in a series but can be definitely read as a standalone (I read the first book but not the second). I enjoyed the family drama and self discovery too. The third act was a little *wait, what?* but overall I really liked this one!

The Summer Girl is a new adult type steamy romance with some sweet scenes, lots of spicy scenes and so much family drama. I enjoyed the book although there are some things that were not my favorite such as the objectification of women, the underage drinking, and the male main character being a smoker (even if occasionally). The family drama was insane, but really engaging and came out of nowhere. I would read more for sure in this series.

I love this series! And The Summer Girl was the perfect addition to this series. I really hope there is more to come.

Nothing says summer vibes to me like another book from Kennedy's Avalon Bay series. In The Summer Girl, Cassie is back in town to spend time with family and is looking for a summer fling. Tate looks like the perfect candidate, but he friend-zones her to avoid hurting her. The summer gets complicated as these two get closer and revealed secrets may cause some problems.

This is the second book in this series that I have read and I was excited to receive it as an ARC. I like Kennedy's style of writing and how she develops her characters. This book was not an exception. It is a good summer read, but it has substance as well. Conflict was hinted at in the synopsis, so I was interested in what was going to happen and how it would be resolved. This definitely held my attention and I hope that there will be another book in this series!

Let it be known that after reading 6 of Elle Kennedy’s books, I have finally found a favorite!! Cassie and Tate are officially my favorite couple and Avalon Bay is my favorite series!

I don’t want to go into too many specifics because I don’t want to potentially spoil anything, but let’s just say that the plot had me binging the whole book. I loved the return of old characters and seeing how all the couples are interconnected in this universe. I loved how the chemistry flowed organically between Cassie and Tate and it was a breath of fresh air at how well they communicated with each other! Even the third act breakup felt like ripping off a bandaid in the grand scheme of things. Like I genuinely understood why it happened and wasn’t upset with it (which is high praises for me). I did feel like the ending was a little rushed BUT, I HIGHLY recommend this book and really hope this universe continues!

Uuuugh I just love Elle Kennedys writing so much. I devour every single book I've read of hers. This books felt both so realistic and fantasy inspiring. Tate is the most gentlemanly fuckboi to ever exist. I loved him. He's perfect. This entire story was truly perfect. Even the third act breakup was beautifully done. Highly recommend!!

Elle Kennedy’s books and writing always feel nostalgic to me as her books are some of the first I read when I got back into reading. I try to read everything new she puts out and I still enjoy her work even with the many books I have read after she sparked a new love of reading for me.

The Summer Girl is a sweet friends to lovers romance about Cassie and Tate. Cassie initially was drawn to Tate’s carefree, play boy personality for a specific reason, but Tate shot her down after realizing how his usual antics are less than what she deserves. They are both surprised when it doesn’t end after their first meeting- they are actually neighbors for the summer.

This was a good, fun summer time romance that made me want the beach, water and sun. I liked how Cassie and Tate’s relationship developed, as well as how they changed as people throughout the story. This book had the usual third act break up Elle’s book’s normally do, but I can see why it had to happen and it added an extra element to the story to keep me intrigued.

As much as I liked this book, I think it’s my least favourite so far in the series. I will say it’s a very easy beach read. It’s not too serious that you have to think that hard. It gives very much boy meets girl and girl next door vibes.

A good summer competition during summer keeps things fun. I really liked the MFC she was very likable. I liked they had some mental health reps such as her mom being a narcissist and how that’s effected Cassie and their relationship. I think that Cassie and Tate had good chemistry and I believed they genuinely had a good friendship.

Dislikes,
Miscommunication trope… nough said *rolls eyes angrily* It took a bit for the story to really get going. I wish they had gone more into Cassie relationships with both parents and kind of annoyed the grandmother didn’t step in more. I feel like the friend group tight knit fam was really missing in this book compared to the previous novels. Also, I was really over hearing about Cassie’s breast. was a little juvenile. And finally, the twist at the end…. Like wtf it was def a shock but was it necessary *bangs head*

I will probably continue to read the rest of this series as it comes along because I want to see everyone in the groups story.
