This is a warm-hearted story about being able to live in the moment. FMC Scarlett is a loyal friend, a reliable employee, a respectful daughter and a studious high school junior. She's so focused on getting good grades and applying to her dream school, the Fashion Institute of Technology, that she seems to miss the forest for the trees when it comes to the other parts of life that make a person whole like hobbies and relationships. When her bestie Macie encourages Scarlett to get out of her shell a little more, she meets the handsome , new-to-town senior Nathaniel.

The story moves along at a nice pace, using the familiar high school social events to mark the different seasons - a Winter Formal, the prom, and graduation-related activities. We see Scarlett deal with friend strife with Macie, explore the possibilities of a relationship with Nathaniel, and learn a bit more about herself along the way. She is eminently likable and readers will find themselves rooting for her throughout the book. The HEA for Scarlett and Nathaniel is probably not exactly what you might have in mind, but it's just right for these two and where they are in life.

While somewhat predictable at times, Alison Schaffir’s combination of a love for writing, fashion, and theatre shines through brightly in this debut story. I was incredibly excited to read this story from the moment I heard the description because of my own personal connections with theatre and fashion — while I’ve never been good at either, I love watching both. Scarlett is an incredibly dynamic main character, and each one of her relationships with other characters shines brightly. Her relationship with Nathaniel is beautiful, and it’s easy to see how much he absolutely adores her. Her friendship with Macie shined brightest as the best part of the book for me, with the way that both girls absolutely treasure one another and their connection first and foremost. Scarlett’s support for Macie is unwavering, and the support between the two of them is incredibly important to see. I definitely recommend adding this story to your 2023 TBR’s, ‘YOUR DREAM FOR ME’ releases March 7, 2023.

Thank you netgalley for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review. I hadn’t read any works previously by this author before, so I didn’t know what to expect. While it wasn’t perfect, it was a very enjoyable read that had all of the great elements of a romance book. Taking all of this into consideration, it was an enjoyable romance book that I would definitely recommend, so I am giving it 4/5 stars.
