Great thriller with so many twists and turns. Read this book so quick as I couldn’t put it down. Thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the ARC!

Adria is a successful women who seems to have it all. Except her husband has not one, but two mistresses. She becomes obsessed with getting her husband to stop seeing these women. She even pairs up with one of the mistresses to work against the second mistress. I wanted to shake Adria several times throughout the book and tell her to leave her husband.
I did not see the ending coming. The author put a sneaky, twisty, but well written ending. It makes the rest of the book make sense. Highly recommend!
Thank you

absolutely loved this book! The author tells the tale of the main character, who is the wife of a handsome man, who is cheating on her with not 1 but 2, women. She also has some trauma from childhood. Woven into a tale of heartbreak and betrayal and unpredictable twists!! This book has me holding my breath until the very end !! Thank you to Netgalley, Kensington Books and Shanora Williams for an arc of this book in exchange for my honest review!

This book hurt my mind. In the best way. It had me wanting to go back and re-read some of it to see how I possibly missed the crazy plot twist!! I love how the ending came together and I think the author did a great job at tying it all together to make a great ending. It’s hard to say more because I don’t want to give anything a way but I will say if you like psychological thrillers you will really enjoy this! It gave me “The Wives” by Tarryn Fisher vibes for sure!

I will say, even though I did enjoy it, that this book needs some work. I feel that some parts didn’t flow well and felt very random at times. It is an ARC though and I hope they make all of the necessary edits to make it even better!

3.5/5 Stars

Two mistresses, one wife? Count me in! This book provided some much needed escapist pleasure. Could it have been more deftly written (less tell more show)? Yes. But all in all it was a lot of fun and a very fast paced easy read with the expected yet unexpected twists and turns one comes to appreciate in a thriller. Highly recommend for fans of domestic drama and backstabbing.

This book was not what I was expecting, but in the best way! The majority of the book I kept wondering why Adira would want to do whatever it took to keep her husband after finding out he had not only one mistress, but two of them. I found myself in a constant state of annoyance, because no woman especially one as successful as her needs to put up with someone like her husband. But the ending… that was chef’s kiss! Everything made sense and it was the CRAZIEST twist!! I loved it!

This is my first read of Shanora Williams and it definitely left me at the edge of my seat. This psychological thriller was interesting and kept me hooked.
The book follows the life of Adira who believes her husband is cheating on her with two women. She then seeks out one of the women who is helping her win her husband back. The story at a glimpse seems messed up and Adira will come across as a woman with no self respect. However the fun is in reading through all those messed up parts.

There are sections or lines in the book that get repetitive and the readers can feel to question themselves about finishing the book. But in my honest opinion, it's a great read with an even chilling end. So i give this book 3.5 stars.

I thank NetGalley for providing me with this E-Arc in exchange for a review.

The premise of this story is really great and the twist was very fun. That said, the book as a whole fell flat for me.

The writing style is very readable, casual, and conversational (think Colleen Hoover and Freida McFadden). I’ll admit, this isn’t a writing style I typically enjoy. However, I know that’s just my personal preference and I acknowledge that it’s a very popular writing style right now that many readers gobble up.

The main problem I had with this book was Adira’s character development. For the first 100 pages or so we learned so little about her aside from how much she loved Gabriel and how successful she was. I would have really liked more about her - more of her day-to-day activities, more of her relationships with her colleagues, more of her business and the ins and outs of her company.

The twist at the end was fun, but ultimately I think it would have been more effective if more time was spent developing Adira rather than developing Gabriel’s relationships and Adira’s thoughts/feelings about them.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Not only one mistress does Gabriel have, but two????? How does he find the time to cheat on his wife, Adria? I enjoyed these short chapters and it kept me on the edge of my seat! The twists at the end came out of nowhere! I do appreciate her trigger warnings in the beginning of the book - child abuse and sexual abuse. Parts were hard to read. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this early release in exchange for my honest review. To be published June 2023.

I cannot express how much I appreciate when author's include a note regarding potential triggers. It allows everyone to make up their mind if they're able to consume the story. Based on the trigger warning, I will not be able to read this, but I support Shanora Williams and love her stories. I'll always recommend her books.

Well this was a wild ride! Short chapters so the pace was super quick, I was immediately intrigued and needed to know what in the world was going on!! 50-70%ish was a little slower, but I did like the flashbacks to Adira’s childhood to mix it up. Then that twist!!! Didn’t see it coming at all. The ending was a little long, maybe it only needed one of the “future” chapters, but that’s nitpicky. Overall this was a fun and gripping mystery!!!

Thank you Kensington Books for the ARC!

Great story that has you hooked from the beginning wanting to know what is going to happen to Andria (and maybe what will become of her husband).
I really liked the different perspectives and views each chapter. If gives you a viewpoint of each side on an affair. And of course there are twists!!! Wow.

The other Mistress by S. Williams, published by Kensington Books, is a full-length, stand-alone that grips you with both hands and doesn't let go anymore.
Adira and Jocelyn's story is nervewracking, raw and gritty, intense, unputdownable
And the end o dear. Lets just say never cross a woman scorned. I recommend the book.

4.5 out of 5 stars! This was a crazy book that totally caught me off guard. I was not expecting it to end the way it did. I couldn’t put it down once I got to the second half of the book. It is dark, twisted and deceptive - I would recommend looking into the trigger warnings before reading. Overall a good read and has great discussion questions at the end to really make you think. Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for providing the e-ARC for an honest review.

Holy moly this book was so good. I was not expecting that turn at the very end. I could not put this book down, as the suspense leading up to the end kept me on the edge of my seat. This is my first read by Shanora Williams but will not be my last.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for a copy of the arc in exchange for my honest review.

Omg!! Another excellent read from this Shanora Williams. This author takes psychological thrillers to the next level. I have read quite a few of her books and I’m never disappointed. This book takes you on a roller coaster ride that you are super anxious to see what happens next but scared and shocked at the same time. It’s definitely a book that once you start it, you can’t put it down. I highly recommend everyone to read this book.

The story is basically about a woman who finds out her husband is cheating on her with 2 other women. She is devastated and begin to question why is she not enough for her husband, She decides to follow the 2 mistresses in hopes of gaining intel and compare herself to them. She confronts one of the mistresses and the two of them decide to work together to break up the ongoing affair that the other mistress is having with the husband. They come up with an elaborate plan to get rid of her. However, as they are executing the plan, secrets are revealed and nothing is as it appears.

I, like most other readers, did not predict the twist at the end. I had bits and pieces of it right so it didn’t completely take me by surprise but it still gave me an “oh!’ moment when it all clicked together. Marvellously done by the author, especially thinking back through the book at the hints dropped and it all pieces together quite well.

The Other Mistress is about a highly successful woman called Adira who appears to have it all, including the perfect husband. Except this so called perfect husband of her is having an affair with not only one but two women. Adira ends up confronting one of the mistresses and they work together to take the other one down because for only god knows what reason, Adira still wants him… and wants him all to herself.

The prose and format make it an easy read although I had to suspend my disbelief over why Adira so badly wanted a man who treated her in such a way for most of the book. It’s hard to write about without getting all spoilerish but it winds together to make sense in the end, and in my own opinion it was worth reading about just for that ending. The trigger warnings from the author are appreciated, I don’t tend to need them but I know a lot of people will and it does go to some darker places than you’d expect.

So a 4/5 from me, with a star taken off because the first half of the novel is a bit hard to get through without knowing why she’s so obsessed with the trash bag husband. Otherwise, if you don’t mind a long set up, this book really pays off!
