The fifth book in the Dragon Kings, Dragon Lover and tells us Kendrick and Asavori Ranger, Esha’s story. The secondary characters are ones we recognise well and the main character are intriguing and engaging. A story of dominance, power, and love with this well written and delivered storyline and the dynamic characters this is a great addition to the series and a must read for lovers of this genre.

Again another fantastic read from an author that never disappoints me. How every story is it’s own but also intertwined from a an original core series missing amazing. And now a whole new species to this series is introduced and I loved all the descriptions and look forward to more about them.

This story involves history of the elves and dragons. When a dragonlord falls for an elf warrior it threatens both cultures. The safety of a whole species is at risk and must be considered. I enjoyed the conclusion and am hopeful for more .

This was my first Donna Grant story. I wasn't sure what to expect but I really enjoyed this story! One thing I really liked/appreciated is that you didn't have to have read the other books in this series to follow the story. The author did a great job of giving enough backdrop where the reader could follow the storyline. However, that being said, after reading Kendrick and Esha's story, I eagerly wanted to read more so now I've purchased others in the series! Great story, slow burn.

I think this is my fav Donna Grant's romance and I read quite a number. An original and well developed word building, humour, an intriguing MC and a hot romance.
I had fun and read it fast.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this arc, all opinions are mine

On Zora, Dragon Kings aren't as invincible as they thought. An invisible enemy is attacking them. Assistance comes from an unlikely source, Elves! Both groups believed that the other didn't exist and the more they learned about each other they began to realize that there were things going on they weren't aware of. Not everyone can be trusted.

Lots of twists and turns with characters you will love.

DRAGON LOVER is the fifth instalment in Donna Grant’s adult DRAGON KINGS paranormal/fantasy romance series-a spin off from the author’s Dark Kings series. This is Sienna Dragon King Kendrick, and Elf/Asavori Ranger Esha’s story line. DRAGON LOVER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is an ongoing premise throughout including the search for a missing King.

SOME BACKGROUND: For tens of thousands of years the Dragons have lived and ruled on Earth but a war between the dragons and humans forced the Dragon Kings to send the other dragons through a portal into an unknown world. Fast forward to present day, the portal has been revealed, and the Dragon Kings have been reunited in Zora, with their family and kin, but a new war is on the horizon between the Dragons, the Divine and the people of Stonemore.

Told from third person perspective DRAGON LOVER follows the building relationship between Sienna Dragon King Kendrick, and Elf/Asavori Ranger Esha. Dragon King Kendrick has crossed the boundary between the land of the dragons known as Idrias aka Zora, and the land of the elves known as Shecrish in his search for a common enemy, a powerful creature that kills and destroys without ever being seen. Meeting Elf Ranger Esha brings Kendrick up close and personal with his future, his mate, but Kendrick’s appearance in Shecrish marks the beginning of a divide between factions of elves, a divide that is a prelude to war. When Esha’s sister Savita, an elven Reader who can ‘read the runes’ reveals death and danger are in their future, Esha must come to terms with who she is and what she wants going forward. The dragons are perceived as a threat to the elves, and the people in charge are willing to kill to protect their power.

Meanwhile, Kendrick finds a friend in Dain, a Dark Elf who is able to gather information when and where no one else can. With the ability to ‘ride the shadows’ Dain, along with Kendrick and Esha traverse deep underground where the darkness hides another dangerous foe.

The relationship between Kendrick and Esha is one of immediate attraction but as a Ranger Esha has sworn a vow to never marry or fall in love. Kendrick knows Esha is his fated mate but remaining with the woman he loves means placing her in the direct line of fire. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include Con and Rhi, Vaughn and Eurwen, as well as the introduction of Elven Reader Savita and Dark Elf Dain.

DRAGON LOVER is a story of power and political control, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The premise is entertaining and enthralling; the romance is seductive and fated; the characters are energetic and dynamic.

Loved reading the mesmerizing and spellbinding paranormal romance story. When Kendrick, a Dragon King, is going after an unseen enemy, he discovers elves do exist, meets a beautiful sun elf, Esche, a warrior ranger, conflict and danger surround them, and feelings develop between Kendrick and Esche. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a riveting must read love story. Can't wait to read the next story in the series by the awesome and amazing author, Donna Grant!

Elves join this ongoing saga of mystery and suspense, expanding our knowledge of Zora, along with its secrets.

The dragons and the Dragon Kings are still under threat from an invisible enemy. Kendrick crosses the border during one such a confrontation where he is helped by a group of elves calling themselves the Asavori Rangers. Their leader, Esha, opts to help him look for the entity and they encounter more than they bargained for.

Similar to the other books in this series, Dragon Lover starts out slow, properly setting up the newly introduced elves and their corner of the Zora realm. Kendrick’s presence engenders mixed feelings amongst the elves. And there is a lot of mistrust within the different groups of elves themselves.

I just love the Dragon Kings and their powerful magic and Donna Grant does an excellent job of utilizing that effectively. Kendrick is gentle, but fiercely protective, and Esha has had only herself to rely on for the longest time. Like all the other Dragon Kings and their mates, the attraction was swift and intense. But Esha was pulled in two different directions and she had to make some tough choices. I did wonder how they were going to find a way to be together.

Again, the ending leaves so many existing questions unanswered and creates a few more. This series definitely has to be read in order as each book forms an integral part of the whole story. It’s like putting a puzzle together. You will have to be patient, that’s for sure. I can definitely recommend this series if you like fantasy/paranormal with dragons, elves, fae, and steamy romance.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

Another dragon king book! It is always fun for me to read another book in this series as the dragon kings had to move from Earth to a different planet. We still get to see some of the other dragon kings and their mates and even get a lead in to the next book in the series!

So funny that Esha, an elf, thought dragon shifters a myth and Kendrick, a dragon shifter, thought elves a myth...too hilarious when they meet and find out that is not the case.

As you read along, you can see the chemistry between Kendrick and Esha but wonder how they are going to overcome their differences and mesh their different world views.

Add to that the increasing tension between the dragon kings and the different races on Zora that starts the same issues that lead them to leave Earth when the other races that they have tried to coexist with, decide that they need more space and want to take dragon land.

Loved the sizzle between Kendrick and Esha, the drama of the tension between the elves and the dragon kings, and how they could make an attempt at a match when Esha has spent her whole life serving as a ranger.

Great HEA and looking forward to the next book in the series!

Kendrick is on a planet that looks like Earth but isn't Earth. He is tracking an enemy and goes right through the border between his side and the human side because he wants to keep tracking the enemy that's almost impossible to see. He meets Esha there where she is also tracking the invisible enemy. Esha is a warrior like many of her people and doesn't believe him at first when he tells her that he's a dragon shifter. Her people know there are dragons but they didn't believe that shifters existed until he shows them that they do.

They agree to let him stay for a few days in order to track and get rid of the invisible enemy but after that they want him to leave. But Kendrick realizes that Esha is his mate and he doesn't want to go back home without her. He doesn't think she'll leave her people to come back to his home with him so he isn't sure what to do.

Watching them get to know one another better as well as search for their enemy was fun. It was a good story and can be read a standalone.

Disclosure: I was given a copy of this book via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Ms. Donna Grant does it again!!
This one is a novella that you can just read in one sitting. I just didn't want to put it down at all.

Fantastic story!!

I do highly recommend.

I very much enjoyed this novella. To me it felt like such a complete and well rounded story.
This is the first book I have read in this series and from this author and I never felt like I was missing something crucial to the story.
Looking forward to going back and reading the earlier books.

Kendrick, a dragon king, is trying to find the invisible enemy that keeps attacking them. While fighting it, he inadvertently trespasses on the elfs land. Through the threat of war, he finds Esha. She leads the Rangers and they have a common enemy. They fall head over heels for each other, but the uncertainty of the future makes being together difficult.

I'm late to the Dragon King stories, but I've enjoyed this one immensely. I know that I will be anxiously waiting for the next book in the series. I'm usually a mystery or thriller type of gal, but every once in a while, I like to cleanse the palate with a good romance. Throw in a shifter, and a dragon one at that, and I'm hooked. If you like the unusual, this book is for you. It's a novella, so it's an easy read. But fair warning, you might not be satisfied with stopping at this short story and your tbr list will get longer.

Thank you to NetGalley, Evil Eye concepts and Donna Grant for this ARC.

The dragon kings just get better with each book. Kendrick has been tasked with trying to find the creature that is causing havoc on Zora. He is worried about his friend Merrill that has disappeared no one has been able to find him. He needs to focus on finding answers so when he meets an elf he is shocked as he has never seen one before.
Esha can’t believe that she has seen a dragon as the elves believed that they were a myth. But can she trust Kendrick?
Will they be able to work together to find the creature that is attacking everyone?
Kendrick knows that he has found his mate but he knows that he has to leave her behind. Is there any hope for him & Esha?
A great read. Love seeing the other dragons & their mates. The reads are always filled with such colourful details.
Thank you to Netgalley & the publisher for the ARC copy. This is my voluntary review.
