The Scone Sisters are back, but this time they come to Key West and Hayley. Hayley is excited to see her friends, the Scone Sisters, who she met in Scotland during her honeymoon. They are in the US to film an American version of their show. Things get off to a rocky start though, when there is a fire and subsequent murder. Hayley must find the culprit before she or friends are next!

Another great entry in this series! If you haven’t read the book that introduces the Scone Sisters, it’s ok - just a few things might not be as clear, but the overall story won’t be affected! Hayley and her crew are always a great read.

I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

When the lovely Scone Sisters visit Hayley and Miss Gloria from Scotland, they will be having their first cook off in the U.S.. As soon as the ladies arrive, they find out their B&B is closed and being high season, there aren’t a lot of options available for housing, so Miss Gloria steps up and hosts them on her house boat.
When the husband of one of the contestants is murdered, and it turns out he was the owner of the B&B that had the fire, The ladies find themselves digging for clues to figure out who killed the man. Was it their manager who has gone missing? The wife who they believe was abused? A random act of violence? The ladies intend to help the police find out…even if the police don’t want their help.

I adore this series. It’s a perfect setting for shenanigans and mysteries as Key West is full of so many oddities and people that it’s easy to escape and envision the story as it’s written. Miss Gloria is my idol and I want to be her when I grow older…she’s spunky and the perfect sidekick for Hayley. Each of these reads fine as a stand alone, so don’t let the fact that this is the lucky thirteenth book in the series stop you from reading it as your first introduction to the series.

I have loved thos series since it first came out. But this book is the best yet. It had me completely absorbed into the story and I read it in one setting. Then got mad at myself because I finished it so quick.
I just reviewed A Clue in the Crumbs by Lucy Burdette. #AClueintheCrumbs #NetGalley

A Clue in the Crumbs is a feel good, wholesome (albeit a murder in there), mystery with congenial and likable characters. It’s an easy, relaxing read to cozy up with a cup of tea and a freshly baked goodie. I really enjoy the Key West Series and look forward to reading more in the future. Thank you Netgalley and Crooked Lane Books for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own. #AClueInTheCrumbs, #NetGalley, #CrookedLaneBooks..

This book is a character-oriented culinary cozy crime (it even has some recipes at the end). The plot and the crime itself aren't as relevant as the interactions between the characters.

I enjoyed it, it was pleasant and easy to read, but I didn't know the characters as I haven't read the previous books, so I didn't really connect with them. Also, I found the ending too easy to guess (there was a lot of foreshadowing), there wasn't any surprise for me, and it was too brief (suddenly the book was over, and it took me by surprise).

I want to thank NetGalley for allowing me to read this book, and I hope I can read other Lucy Burdette's books soon.

I enjoyed this book very much. It’s a fast paced story with a solid plot. There’s lots of action and the characters are great. I especially liked the scottish ladies. I was surprised by who the killer is. The takedown is great. So glad to see Gloria staying put. #AClueintheCrumbs #NetGalley

I was excited to be given an advance copy of the newest book in this food critic mystery series set in Key West, Florida. I have to say that this is one of my very favorite cozy mystery series which I have been reading since book one. Food critic and newlywed, Hayley Snow, lives on a newly renovated houseboat and her elderly friend and former roommate Miss Gloria lives on a houseboat right next to her.
Hayley and Miss Gloria are happy to welcome Violet and Bettina Booth, aka the Scottish Scone Sisters, to Key West. The sisters will host a cooking show in the US and Key West is their first stop. The same day they arrive, the bed and breakfast the sisters are staying in gets torched, some of their supplies doesnt arrive. and their agent is nowhere to be found. The contest begins the next morning with three local bakers. One is the inn owner’s wife, Rayna, who is the most promising of the three, but also a suspect in the fire. Then Rayna’s husband gets murdered near the Inn and the murder weapon belongs to the Scottish Scone sisters. Hayley, and the three elderly ladies follow clues to ferret out the real killer. This was a fast paced lighthearted cozy with plenty of red herrings. I can't wait to read the next book in this delightful series. Thank you to netgalley and Crooked Lane Books for providingvme with this advance copy.

Hayley lives on Key West’s Houseboat Row with her husband, Nathan who’s a firefighter 👨‍🚒.
Hayley and Miss Gloria her former roommate are expecting the Scone Sisters. Hayley and Nathan had met the two sisters on a honeymoon tour around Scotland.

The sisters Violet and Bettina Booth had become famous across the UK after winning the television show contest *The UK Bakes! Scone Edition*

Now they’d been invited on a tour doing guest demonstrations and judging contests, hunting for the next participating in the American edition of the show.

While on a short tour of Key West, Hayley notices a building on fire. Turns out it’s a bed-and-breakfast the Scone Sisters had earlier checked into. The place belongs to a man called Vincent Humboldt.

The contest begins the next morning featuring three local bakers. One is Vincent’s wife, Rayna who’s become a suspect in the fire incident. The next night, Vincent is found dead by a dog walker. Turns out the murder weapon used belongs to the Scottish sisters.

It’s up to Hayley, Miss Gloria, and the sisters to search for clues to the murder to find out who wants to sabotage the competition.

Included are recipes such as Roast Shrimp in Butter Sauce🧈 🍤, Violet and Bettina’s Cinnamon Scones, Irish Soda Bread, and Chocolate Loaf Cake With Vanilla Drizzle.

Thank you to Lucy Burdette, NetGalley, and Crooked Lane Books for the arc of this book.
Overall an interesting culinary mystery. Would recommend.

I had a blast reading A Clue in the Crumbs.
Haley Snow, Miss Gloria, Nathan, and all the other wonderful characters made this book so much fun!
The Scone Sisters, a pair of Scottish older ladies, are heading to Key West!
Known for their fabulous scones, the sisters are part of a baking show, and their first stop is murder.
I couldn't get enough of the mystery or of the laugh out loud parts, especially all the "ma dears."
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.

I love a good foody, cozy, murder mystery! Although this is part of a series, I haven't read the other books or anything else by this author but it was so easy to fall in love with this little world and our characters! I loved the twists and clues and it made for a very interesting story!
