So freaking cute! And yes why judge by looks?

A cute book with amazing illustrations about a little monster who looks like a monster but is a cutesy baby inside. And that’s what got me.

Well done with the writing and the animated feel of the reading experience.

Thank you, Quarto Publishing Group- Frances Lincoln Children’s Books, for the advance reading copy.

Really enjoyed reading this book with my 5 year old daughter. She enjoyed the interactive part of the book. I would say it is probably suited to a younger child but it was still very much enjoyed!

I love the illustrations in this book! It is such a cute take on your typical monster.

I read this to my 3.5 year old daughter. She got distracted and confused with the middle page that said “The End” and I turned the page to read more. Since it was the first time we have read it. She didn’t really interact with the rest of the book because she was asking why I didn’t stop at “The End”. I think Pre K/Kindergarten is a good age group and Audience for this book!

Are You a Monster? is a fun interactive read-aloud picture book that will have children of all ages roaring and stomping along, as Monster encourages them to be the scariest monster possible.

Warning! This book contains a monster. A really angry, really scary, really bad monster… or so the monster says. And Monster has a very important question: are you a monster too?

Children will love playing along with the book as monster tests them on their monster skills. Do you have a long pointy tail? Big yellow eyes? No? Can you make a big, loud noise? You can!

Kids get to join in with this hilarious story and play their monstrous part, and by the end Monster may just regret asking that all important question.

I read this to my 3 yr old daughter and she loved it. I love that it encourages playfulness and physical interaction

I received a digital ARC of ARE YOU A MONSTER? via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Thank you NetGalley for providing the eARC for me to read.

As an educator, I absolutely love this book. Karsten switches it up. Why be scared of the monster when you could be friends with the monster? As someone who teaches younger students with cognitive disabilities, this book is perfect for engaging students in active reading, allowing them to follow along with the book. The book is funny, engaging, and perfect for kids.

Adorable, interactive children's book. It's a silly book that got my children up, laughing, and stomping around, pretending to a *monster*. The illustrations are beautiful and again, pulls in the readers to interact with the book. In sum, I'd say the book is fun, silly & goofy- can't wait for the physical copy to be released!

This was adorable. Another book I cannot wait to buy and read to my 6 year old. She's going to love this and is definitely a monster. Goes to show if you ask the right questions you'll probably get the answers you're looking for!

This little monster feels like they're too scary and bad to be cared about, so they're on the hunt for other monsters to cause a ruckus with.

Initially the monster's criteria doesn't match and the story seems to end but then other ideas of what makes a monster are thought of.

Then our little monster gets a little scared of us readers when we start matching the scary characteristics.

A great, sure to be interactive book for preschool and elementary kiddos.

What a cute monster book for children. My 5 year old loved this book. I’m fact, he asked if we could get the “real book”, so I’ve already placed it in my Amazon cart and surprise him with it in a few days. One thing that I loved about it was it made the concept of a monster less scary. Now (hopefully) when my kid thinks of monsters, he thinks of this one. I love that it was interactive. In the middle of the book, it says “the end” and my son was so excited to know that there was more. I also liked that he saw some sight words, so he was able to help me read a lot in this book. Definitely recommend!!!

Are You A Monster? Is the perfect book for any younger reader. My son thought it was so funny that this little monster thought he was a monster. He laughed and stomped and had a great time interacting with this book. This book helped making read time fun and interactive for my son and I. I highly recommend this adorable monster book.

ARE YOU A MONSTER? is absolutely hilarious! My kids LOVE monster books, especially ones like this that are interactive. If you have kids who love getting up, stomping and making loud noises, this book is the perfect companion!

We had so much fun pretending to be monsters and laughing about it. The entire book is just this little green monster saying he's looking for other monsters. But the reader of the book couldn't be a monster, could they?

The illustrations are great, as well. Big, bold letters for the story and as much as he's probably not trying to, the monster in the story is super cute. We especially enjoyed his pink glasses and blue bow tie.

A must-read for all little monster fans!
