What a great book, very different from this author's previous books but a thoroughly good read. It kept me involved in this fast paced thriller which had me hooked from the very beginning until the ending which was just brilliant.

All the characters were excellent even though at times I just wanted to shake Rachel but it added to the suspense in this book.

Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for this fantastic ARC which I have no hesitation in recommending.

I am a fan of the author and this book was great just like her other ones.

Rachel lives with her new boyfriend and her two sons. Her eldest teenage son Shay is giving her trouble. Being beaten up and the victim of bullying, Shay has become reserved and the relationship between him and his mother has suffered. One night Shay sneaks out after been told he can’t go to the party in woods due to be grounded for his previous behaviour. The next morning Rachel wakes and Shay is not home worried Rachel tried a to find out where he has went which turns out it’s not only Shay who is missing and how much danger is Shay in.

This was a great thriller which kept be gripped to the end with a great ending.

Shay is missing.

Imagine the fear of walking into your 16 year olds room to find that he is gone. That his window is open from where he snuck out to go to a party you told him not to go to, his phone is off, and there seems to be no trace of him.

This is where Rachel finds herself. Constantly questioning everything and everyone and determined to bring her son home.

The book is fast paced and manages to keep that tension throughout. As a parent, I was able to emphasize with Rachel as she went through the worst nightmare of her life.

She navigates her relationship and how little she truly knows about her partner, she navigates how naive she is about the online world where teens are easily groomed, she navigates the desperation of grief while trying to maintain life for her younger child.

She isn't likeable. Her naivete is over the top, but still you feel for her.

I like how this book showcased the dangers of the online world and how a seemingly innocent video chat can evolve into something sinister. How teens can be blackmailed into desperation.

3.5 stars rounded up because I think the message and awareness give it the edge .

I received an advanced copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest review.

My Review:
Wow!!!!! Enjoyed!!!!! What a fast paced gripping book that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I raced through each chapter like it was my last just so I could find out what happened next. This is my first book by this author and it certainly won’t be my last one. I was hooked on her writing from the very first word. So let’s talk about this book for a minute. I really loved the main character. She was fierce and would stop at nothing to find out what was going on with her son. I could totally relate to her as I’m a mama bear also who would protect my son at all costs too. I love it when you can see yourself in the characters. Next up is the story line. I love all books that deal with children especially teenagers. They intrigue me since you never know what they are going to do next. Are they going act responsibly or irrationally. Since their brains are not fully there yet they could go either way. That’s why books about them are great. You never know what to expect or what is going to happen next. It makes for a great plot. Now let’s talk about that shocking ending. I was speechless. Endings are everything to me and this one rocked. I will definitely be reading more of this authors books in the future.

In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I was wowed by this book! It started off very strong and jumped right into the storyline. I appreciate books that jump right into the storyline. Give me background information throughout the book as necessary – just like this book did. I loved the different take that this book had, and I don’t want to say what it is as I don’t want to give anything away. There were moments in this book where my heart was pounding with anticipation. Overall, this is a fantastic mystery where I couldn’t figure out what was going on. I highly recommend this book!

This was my favourite book I have read in a long while, easily 5 stars. Love how the tension builds. Finished it so quickly even though I was busy this week. The perspective of each character changing through the book was really well communicated.

Rachel is separated from her husband, Mick. Living with David, her new partner, is a challenge because her children have not taken to him.
Shay, Rachel's elder son has sneaked out during the night and not returned home. She assumes that he is staying with a friend, and then becomes concerned when there is a report of a girl being attacked at a party in the woods, and she finds out that is where Shay was.
Other young teens go missing, and David seems to care more about the parents of those children than he does about Rachel.
He is hiding something, but Rachel doesn't have the energy to find out what it is, she has to find her beloved child.

I read this book in one sitting. It is definitely a page turner, with many twists. I just feel that Rachel and Mick were a bit relaxed about their missing son.... going about with their day, work etc, and being able to smile... I personally have been through a traumatic experience with my child, and found it difficult to break a smile or laugh at a joke. Just my personal opinion.
But all in all, a very good book, I enjoyed it thoroughly and can recommend it.

4/5 stars from me. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! What a poignant story! This book was nothing like I thought it would be! It had suspense, intrigue, murder, mystery and a bit of a who done it! The storyline was crazy good with some great twist and turns! I was a bit shocked at the storyline but unfortunately this stuff does happen! I highly recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

Gone by Ruby Speechley.
My son is missing, and everyone is lying to me.
Last night my son, Shay, sneaked out of the house and didn’t come home. He promised not to go to the illegal party in the woods. But someone’s been attacked and Shay has gone missing. The police want to know if he saw what happened. I’m worried he could be involved.
I really enjoyed this book. I had my suspects and it wasn't who I thought it would be. Twisty. 5*.

A missing teenage child…a mysterious boyfriend…an ex husband who is around too much…friends…intrigue and mystery..another son who seems forgotten..this talented author has written a cannot put down novel. The characters come alive on the pages of this book. This was a story that was not easily guessed. In fact, the outcome was a total surprise to me. I would never have guessed the ending. I did become suspicious of one of the female characters. Enjoy this story. This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher and the author.

WHOA!!!! I have loved Ruby's books in the past and this one was no different! Shay sneaks out to a party and does not come home. Before long, other boys have gone missing. HIs mom has a new client who seems overly clingy. It was very obvious to me the minute Alice appeared in the book that she was going to be behind what was going on. Shay's parents continue to dig into his computer and find out he's been involved in an almost cult like thing and have been blackmailed. Then the police think they are being trafficked. Without giving too much away, I did not guess the correct "bad guy" and the ending was way different than expected! Great book!!
