A funny and insightful BTS about Katie Porter's rise as a Congresswoman. Her witty and intelligent speeches on the house floor are a backdrop to her day to day life as a single mother trying to keep corrupt CEOs and shady government practices in check.

In I Swear Representative Katie Porter has summed up a lot of what’s wrong in US politics and showcased what’s right.
Before reading her autobiography, I already respected Porter. Now I understand more of why. Porter sounds like a regular person because she is a regular person.
In I Swear Porter tells her story. How the child of the farm crisis made her way to boarding school on scholarship and on to Yale. How she fell in love with law and learned the ins and outs of bankruptcy. And how she has challenged corporations, bankers and those in both parties to do right by the consumers, citizens who don’t have access to millions of dollars or the hallowed halls of the US Capitol.
From Iowa to California to DC, Porter’s story is relatable. She’s a single mom, a professor, and like she says, she understands the realities of daily life budgets and the hardship of paying for childcare right now.
Porter is a disrupter, and she’s completely unapologetic about that. We need more Representatives like her.
I Swear is fantastic.

Katie Porter appeals to every facet of the American electorate.

She grew up on an Iowa farm. She earned scholarships to prestigious schools. She battles with her weight. After three children, she endured a tragic divorce. She understands mortgage loans and can explain them to sixth graders. She has solutions to immigration and homelessness. She won't back down.

"I Swear," publishing in April, introduces the California Congresswoman as she revs up her campaign for U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein's seat.
