Detective Casey White and her fiancé Jericho are about a week away from leaving the Outer Banks to follow her daughter Tracy as she is moving out of town. It was not an easy decision but Casey has just found Tracy and longs to remain near her. While preparations are underway, one of their colleagues shows up at their home completely devastated. His niece has been murdered and he asks Casey to step in and to try and find the killer. Of course Casey will do anything and Jericho feels the same.

Several years earlier, a young team of archery players had come up with a name for themselves, The Sunflower Girls. As the victim Casey and her team are desperate to find justice for was found in a sunflower field, Casey soon learns a possible reason. Sadly, when the girls were very young, their coach took advantage of them. Now, Casey has to understand why a brutal murder would take place that apparently connects back to that tragic time for the girls.

Sadly, there is another victim, also connected to the case they are investigating, with the murders being very similar. There is another connection to both cases and it does not take Casey long to discover that it’s all goes back the abuse that the girls underwent at the hands of their coach. Could he now be exacting revenge on the girls that turned him in and testified against him? Or is something else at play? With their impending move weighing down on them, Casey stays laser focused in her attempts to identify and stop the killer.

Although this eighth book in the compelling Detective Casey White series could be read as a stand-alone, there is a lot of back story about Casey, Jericho and Tracy that the reader would miss if this series is read out of order. I do love how B. R. Spangler gives details that will allow the reader to easily read this book on its own, but if you want a good, well-written book that follows the lives of these dedicated characters, reading the previous titles will definitely be time well spent and enjoyed. Having picked up this fabulous series from Book Two, I am fully invested and cannot wait for the ninth book in a series that has become one of my favorites.

This is my first read by this author. Even though it's book #8 the story stands alone. I do want to go back though to see character growth.
What a horrid way to die...being hunted down and shot with arrows. We then go back in time and I could see who but not quite and not why.
As the victims fall we see their history together and the connection.
Dark and deadly secrets will be revealed.
Fantastic story line and wonderful characters. You won't be able to put it down.

This book is simply amazing! This is book 8 of the Casey White series.
After reading this book, I decided to read the whole series from the very beginning as this new author delivers on all sides for me:
- Great character developments. It is clear Casey White and her fiancé Jericho Flynn are highly likable main characters surrounded with an equally likable and very able team.
- Great backdrop setting of the Outer banks North Carolina. Living in England, this is probably the only way i will probably get to "visit" that part of the world so when a talented author makes an amazing work of describing the setting, I am very grateful and feel enriched from the experience.
- The murder plot is solid and keeps you hooked all the way through.
I can't wait to start this series from the beginning!

A very quick, fast paced suspense with characters I love.
Charlie finds herself on a sunflower farm - deep in the stalks as a hunter pushes toward the kill zone.
Casey and her team are assigned - as Emmanuel and Charlie were raised as siblings after his parents' deaths. The struggle to find any clues - beginning with determining the weapon used adds tension as another body is found. In sunflowers.
Casey and Jericho are preparing for their move to Philadelphia - following Tracy and Nichelle. They struggle with the idea of leaving the Outer Banks - their home, friends and comfort.
Very well done. Cannot wait for the next!

Book 8 in the fantastic Casey White series.

When a former member of Casey's team turns up distraught he begs Casey for help. His cousin has been found brutally murdered. She promised to help him find out what happened.

Heading to the scene they find her in a field of sunflowers with numerous sounds on her body. And they can see she was left to bleed to death.

Who would do such an awful thing?

Making enquiries they find out the victim was part of an archery group at school known as the sunflower Girls. Is it a coincidence or connected to the horrific crime.

And then another girl from the group is killed.

Can Casey and the team find the killer before they can claim any more victims?

I love this series and this one was full of drama that kept me reading long into the night. I highly recommend this brilliant series to all crime genre fans.

I swore I wasn’t going to read another book in this series until I’d gone back to the beginning and read the rest of the series. But when Bookouture asked if I wanted to be on the tour for his new novel I just couldn’t say no.

Bodies found in sunflower fields, shot with arrows, no evidence left behind. Who l would want to kill off a group of friends who haven’t seen each other for years, and why?

I loved this book just as much as the previous one in the series and the mix of Casey’s personal life alongside the investigation cemented why I need to go back to the start and read all of these from the very beginning, even though I know where the relationships are now and I’m loving watching them grow, I want to read more details of how they got to this point.

There were so many clues and blind spots in this book, hinting to who the killer may be, I definitely didn’t have it all figured out but it had me captivated from beginning to end.

Another winner in the Casey White series by B.R. Spangler. I had this one figured out pretty early on but that did not take away from me wanting to finish this book. Love the characters! Love the writing! Love the story!

Their Resting Place is the 8th installment in the Detective Casey White series, and once again does not disappoint!

The book opens with an intense and bloody scene in a sunflower field and hooked me into the book immediately. Casey and her colleagues are called out to investigate, and while delving into the case another body turns up in another sunflower field. Both girls were found with invitations to the scenes with the word GUILTY printed on it, and upon their arrivals they met their deaths. But guilty of what? What is the killer punishing them for?

The book is twisty and I have so much to say to summarize it up, but don’t want to spoil anything.
My only complaint is that there was no continuance from the previous book with something that happened to Casey. I expected a mention of her healing or some form of dealing with that happened, but it didn’t happen this book. Otherwise this was another fantastic addition to the series, and after how the epilogue left us hanging, I’m dying to see what rollercoaster the next book takes us on!

This book opens with an intense and heart breaking scene of a young woman running and pleading for her life. Bloody sunflower fields, a wicked murder weapon and a strange invitation with only one word written on it - "guilty" make this spine tingling mystery captivating. Detective Casey White is asked to assist in an investigation of a murder of young woman. Charlie Robson's shattered body has been found in a sunflower field with what at first appears to be many bullet holes. However, after further examination it is determined that she has been killed with arrows. The case becomes even more bizarre after Casey interviews the young woman's mother and finds out that Charlie was a member of an archery club in high school known as The Sunflower Girls. When another young woman's body riddled with holes is found in a sunflower field, the investigation rises to another level. Now the team is on a clock to find out who is targeting these young women, and they want to find the other members of the club before there is any further bloodshed.

This was an intriguing mystery that kept me engrossed into the book in the wee hours of the morning. The manner of death was disturbing to say the least. The author did a great job of keeping me guessing until the shocking twist at the end. The characters are well described and well liked. There is an underlying story with Casey and her soon to be husband, Jericho, as they try to decide if they are going to leave the Outer Banks. The author does a good job of filling in the blanks so that you will fully understand this back story.

The mystery was well written and bone chilling. It actually gave me the creeps as actual people became prey and the killer became a hunter. I highly recommend this book for thrill seekers and mystery lovers.

OMG, I absolutely have been loving this series and am so glad I randomly found it on Netgalley. After reading the a couple of middle books, I had to go back and find the originals, and now I'm caught up and loving the newest release.

This time, Casey and her team are in the middle of a newly discovered case--a body of a young woman, laying in a field of sunflowers, and odd marks that turn out to be from arrows. Investigation discoveries lead to finding out the woman was on the archery team in high school, nicknamed the Sunflower Girls, when another woman's body is found, also a teammate. The team must work to find the killer and protect the remaining members before the killer finds them first.

Once again, Spangler has brought back the main cast of characters and done an amazing job furthering their stories and backgrounds of the team. The mystery is on point with several twists and turns before finding the actual killer. I'm definitely enjoying this series and can't wait for the next one.

This is the eighth book in the Detective Casey White series which I have been following since book four and as with the other books in the series this one doesn't disappoint.

This is the 8th book in the Detective Casey White series. I haven’t read the previous books so I was a little lost regarding the relationships. The author does a good job of filling in the blanks though. Overall I thought this was a good read & would recommend.

And as Casey, Jericho, Tracey and Nichelle set out to investigate they discover Charlie was found in a field of sunflowers lured there by an invite and the word 'GUILTY'

But what's Charlie guilty of? And who could've wanted her dead?

That's what Casey and the team have to find out fast, especially when Tracey finds out that someone is currently in prison for an identical crime.

And when the team learn that Charlie was a member of a high school archery team called the 'Sunflower Girls. 'They fear the killer will strike again. Unless they find them quickly.

And while the race to catch the killer was going on, I was hooked, and I had no idea who the killer was, until they were exposed. Which is what great crime fiction is all about and it's one of many reasons why I would happily recommend Their Resting Place and the series as a whole to others.

Oh! And I can't wait for book nine especially after that ending!

Pulse pounding story of rollercoaster crimes of murder of several young women. The story is chilling and makes you want to keep reading to the conclusion. The tease at the end leaving you waiting for the next story.

This was an absolutely brilliant story, so well written, fast paced and full of twists and turns!

I enjoy reading this series and this book did not disappoint.
This is another great addition to a wonderful and intriguing series.

Gripping to the very end!

Another brilliant mystery added to the Detective Casey White series. This book has it all, a mystery that will keep you guessing mixed with the emotional drama of the characters as they make the difficult decision of do they relocated to Philly or stay in the Ourter Banks with one final twist at the end giving a snippet into what might be next in book 9.

If you are a fan of this series, you will not be disappointed, it delivers yet again.
