INTRODUCING SAI THE PEACOCK: THE UNIQUE BEAK by Estani Frizzell, Illustrations by Sophia Frizzell.
Thank you NetGalley and Greenleaf Audiobooks for this ARC audiobook.

Sai is a young peacock who lives with his royal family and he loves to sing. His family laughs at him and at his dreams of singing, saying his beak is too big and that he makes funny sounds. Saddened by this, Sai vows never to sing again.

This cute children’s short story is about believing in yourself and never giving up.

The audiobook is fantastic ! We haven’t read very many books about confidence and how it’s gained. This is a great life lesson about what friendships can do. I enjoyed listening to this with my kids.

A beautiful story about friendship and celebrating what makes us unique. Written in verse and accompanied with engaging music and sound effects, the narrator brings this story to life. A perfect addition to a class or school library to help young listeners learn how resiliency, and support from friends and family can help build confidence and improve or community.

I liked this book. I think it had a good message of having the right kind of support behind your dreams. I can't wait to see the illustrations that go along with this audiobook!

A story for being judged based on appearance rather than on talent. While this is an unfortunate truth of our world so is the truth that having someone believe in you can change your perspective and therefore you life.

Book Title: The Unique Beak- Introducing Sai the unique Peacock
Author: Estani Frizzell
Narrator: Estani Frizell

Genre: Children’s Fantasy

As a grandma I love children’s stories. This one has a wonderful message.

Little Sai, the peacock, has a huge beak everyone makes fun of. No one bothers that he has a lovely voice and likes to sing. A dejected Sai becomes silent and sings when no one is around to hear.
. A teeny cricket listens to the songs and encourages Sai to sing.

Do what you believe and follow your heart.

Cute book! Sai the peacock was a fun read. I’m sure my niece will love this book when it comes out and I will be purchasing it for her when it does.

What a great little book to inspire confidence in young children who are seen and feel different than their peers. A tale a friendship between two unlikely friends: a peacock and a cricket. I listened to this with my five year old niece, and she loved it! This will teach children to embrace their differences and be bold against people who will try to dim their shine. My niece and I would love to hear more adventures of Sai the Peacock! I would recommend this to any young child or any elementary school classroom.

My heart just broke for Sai at the beginning, but in the end I was smiling.

What I loved:
~ the rhyming
~ music playing in the background
~ different accents for different animals
~ the message of how it could take just one friend to really make a difference in your life
~ how confidence can be the key to follow your passion

What I was not feeling:
~ how his own mom was trying to bring him down and was really mean about it
~ how others followed along and ‘bullied’ and made fun of him

I believe this is to be geared towards 4-7 year olds. Most of the wording is easy to follow along with, but a few bigger words, which rhymed along nicely, seemed out of place ~ ginormous, atrocious, ferocious. It does give a good teaching opportunity and I think this would be a lovely story to read along with while listening.

The narration by the author for 7 minutes and 57 seconds was great.

I can’t comment on the illustrations since I listened, but the cover is very bright and eye-catching.

This was such a super cute book! I loved the narrator, and the sing-song quality. The book was a story about looking beyond the physical and connecting with the creature on the inside. Confidence is the first quality people see, and this book reinforces that message. Loved the cover illustration too! I will recommend to my teacher friends!

We "read" this book as an audiobook and really enjoyed the audio journey of Sai and his unique beak.

Sai's story is a great lesson for all children about not being afraid of our differences. Sai's beak is unique and he doesn't realize that it makes beautiful music at the beginning of the story. Many children also have differences they may be ashamed of or shy about, but once they realize the talents they possess or that they do not need to be ashamed, they really blossom into wonderful humans. This book can help them on that journey.

The narrator, who is also the author, did a wonderful job portraying Sai and cricket in various voices. Although there were times when the background music was maybe a little too loud, it tied in well with the flow of the story. The music was intense when the story was more intense and softer towards the beginning and the end. The narration was also calming. We listened to this book right before bedtime and found it to be a pleasant way to wind down the day. The audio version of this book is terrific!

Sweet story of Sai the Peacock. His large beak gets him ridiculed by other peacocks. But Cricket appreciates his sound and helps him have confidence to perform. Nice message of believing in yourself, friends being supportive etc. I listened to the eight minute audio book which is well done and includes back ground music as well as the spoken word. I haven’t seen the illustrations but the cover makes it look colorful and promising. As a librarian I love having good audio of books that I can play while sharing books with students. (It saves me reading everything myself.) I thought the story was uplifting and would be easy to understand, especially for younger readers.

Introducing Sai the Peacock: The Unique Beak (Hardcover)
by Estani Frizzell
Through the friendship of Cricket. The story to show that confidence makes people look at themselves better. That when they find out who they are and doing what they love. Shows that if you believe follow your heart and answer when it calls. You can do it when you have confidence.
The audio book has music that is distracting.

This book was a great children's read. I loved the message of loving your differences. Sai had a larger beak than the other peacocks but he didn't let that hold him back from pursuing his dreams. A great listen for the kids

This review is for the audiobook version. Such a sweet story of friendship and what happens when someone believes in you. We all have a song to sing. Everyone will not like our song. When someone cares it gives you confidence to keep on singing no matter what. For me, the musical score was overpowering at times, distracting me from the story, even making it difficult to hear the words. Overall, Sai and Cricket cheered me up and gave me confidence.

Thanks NetGalley for providing this book in exchange for a review.

Sai the Peacock: The Unique Beak
3.5 Stars
Audiobook Narration 4/5

The narrator did a good job giving each character their own voice. Children will love her expressive voice, with sound effects. I found this book difficult to hear clearly in a few areas (worse at the beginning). The narrator's voice is competing with the piano music in the background.

Sai, a peacock, faces a lot of ridicule for his abnormally large beak, which makes him sad. Join Sai as he embarks on his journey to get his confidence back. This book promotes friendship, loyalty, and delivers a strong anti-bullying message. The book offers pre-reading skills, such as rhyming, poetry and phonics.

I loved the reading of this book! The narrator was great, and so was the story. As a very short 7 minute listen, I think children will enjoy listening to it. The message conveyed through the character of Sai is beautifully done and must be known to every child. I especially loved the background music given to the audio too!
