I read this slowly, as it was hard for me to engage. I ended up in a bit of a slump, and found this story wasn't quite for me. I took so long to review as I hate to write reviews that aren't hyping people up for their hard work... but for this, the writing really fell short for me. It felt more like a rough draft, with many spelling errors and some choices of phrase were just.. Well, totally not giving what the author wanted to give. At all.
The story, however, has promise and could be enjoyable. It is very similar to chosing theo, so if you liked that book, you will like the story here too! Despite the writing issues, the characters were likeable

Review: My Alien Prince ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆
Author: Mary Kirkland
Publication Date: 14 February 2023
Publisher: Booksgosocial
Romance | Sci Fi & Fantasy

I received this book from Mary Kirkland and Amazon Publishing, UK Booksgosocial, as an advanced eArc for my honest review any opinions that come from this review are my own. Thank you to both the Author and the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book.

The book itself was okay can I imagine myself traveling to an alien planet to relax and unwind hell yes and I would be getting paid to sign me up. I enjoyed the book for what it was. The plot was well written and so were the characters. The author did a great job with building the world as well. Baby and the smut lawwwdd it was done very well. I was able to connect with each character especially Drex he was such a sweetheart and the way he treated the ladies omgeee. Overall, it was a lovely book the spice is rated a 3.5 for me the biggest issue with this book is the writing i.e. the inner dialogue felt like the characters were rambling on and on to be honest, I didn’t care about typos because it was and arc.

I usually never read this kind of book and I'm definitely not the right target for this title. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone at least once but I think I chose the wrong book to do it because sadly I did not like My Alien Prince one bit. First, the story doesn't make sense at all, but the writing really threw me off! It was so childish and full of errors, sometimes it went from present tense narration to past tense, other times from first person POV to third person! Absolutely insane. Would not recommend.

The problem was this book was the very rough planned plot with loop holes surrounding it. Immature characters and unbelievable romance. The writing style did not help as well.

Okay I’m here cause I’m missing Ruby’s books. Did this meet my expectations? Not really, but I guess fans of the genre would appreciate it more.

This started off really well with some good ideas, but was let down by poor editing.

The story also lacked any real romance and ended up as erotic / smut.

This was not for me.

Such a cute read. I really enjoyed the MMC, he was such a protective sweetheart.

The book was well written, fast paced, good spicy scenes, funny moments, HEA.

I’ll give this book a 4,5 star (not the biggest fan of “miscommunication” and “third act breakup”). Overall an amazing read. I will recommend.

First of all, when I received this book and I started reading it mmm it just wasn't compelling to me, though the writing is good, the idea of this group of women sent to "Xavia" to help repopulate their planet was good... but somehow I couldn't get invested in the story, I didn't like the female lead character (or her sister), and the male lead wasn't much better.

I did try to finish it after getting a revised version, I don't enjoy DNFing books to be honest, so I finished it today yay!
Happy reading everyone!

This was everything.
I never cried for an alien in alien smut books. Like never. Thank you for the emotional journey ❤️
As a lover of big blue/green/yellow aliens, I am now a big fan of Xavians 💙
Cant wait to read more. The story was fascinating. I can already feel a big war coming up!
Also, there are 3 peens yall. Hehe 🫀

(Ps. Some parts need a proofreader because the names are mixed up as a nonnative speaker I didn't mind those.) but its a debut novel so I know it will all be better ✨

After my fiancé left, I impulsively joined my sister on a spaceship for an Earth-sponsored trip to Xavia, a friendly, tropical planet with handsome, alien men. When I started reading I couldn't put it down I read the book in one day.

This was not for me.
There were far too many grammatical errors including incorrect punctuation and word choice and subject verb non-agreement.
It was a poor imitation of the IPB series and appears to be an attempt to capitalize in its popularity.

Katy and her sister Sara think they are getting an all expenses paid year-long vacation to another planet to take in the sights and experience some well earned relaxation after Katy's ex-fiance stood her up at the altar.

Little did they know, their government had actually sent them as unsuspecting brides in a bargain with the planet's inhabitants for resources in exchange for women to breed with them. Drex, the prince, was not pleased to find that the women had been lied to, and so began the story of their unwitting romance.

My Alien Prince is exactly the kind of alien romance you think it will be from the opening sequence. This was definitely spice heavy, but there was enough plot to keep it going. I can already see the sequels from the other women's perspectives. If you like spice over plot, then this book has you covered.

This was a NetGalley review.

This was a just ok read to me. I usually like these types of book but this one took me longer to finish not for me.

I think this concept was absolutely promising and I was quite excited to start it but unfortunately, this story did not hold up.

I understand that I received an ARC and at this point, I am not even looking at the spelling mistakes and errors.

The writing was very poor and immature and it needs serious rounds of editing. I love a good alien romance and I was expecting a lot from this book.

This started out really promising, but in the end it was just okay. The storyline and plot was there, a lot was just straight cringey

There is literally nothing as spicy and smutty as Alien romances. Call it a guilty pleasure of mine but this book was ***chef's kiss*** Loved every second of it.

I delved into My Alien Prince looking for a good escape story. Fortunately, I did find that. Unfortunately, the storyline wasn't quite as strong as I hoped for.

Katy is persuaded by her sister, Sara to visit another planet on a goodwill mission. There is a financial incentive for people to agree to go since it's a one year commitment and Katy needs the money so she agrees. When they get there, the situation isn't at all what they expected. Apparently, they are expected to stay with hosts on the planet with the hope that they will form a connection and choose to stay. Ultimately, the goal is for them to procreate as the planet has lost a great deal of its female population and is in danger of extinction due to another alien race which invaded and has been attacking them.

Katy is matched up with the Prince, Drex. She's determined that she'll eventually return to Earth, so she tries to keep her feelings on lock-down. Of course, Sara is all in and immediately falls for the alien she is matched with. Drex, Katy's match is considerate and determined to not pressure her in any way. As time progresses, their chemistry takes over and brings them together.

I think this book had great promise. Unfortunately, somewhere along the way, it lost steam. I did like the finish and felt like it gave the reader a solid and happy resolution. I think it just felt sluggish in the middle.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I voluntarily chose to read and review it and the opinions contained within are my own.
