I made so many notes while reading this book - Alter uses really interesting historical facts, stories and anecdotes to back up each of his "recipes" to finding your way out of a breakthrough. Many resonated with me almost immediately, some were surprising, others less surprising but worth repeating. I shared some of the examples with creative friends, and it helped give them all a new perspective. I also successfully used the idea of generating ideas in multiple settings in a design sprint I lead with my team. My only complaint while reading it was that it's quite long - and so, hard to remember each "tip" as you move through chapters. An end of chapter summary in addition to the `cheat sheet' at the end would have been very helpful.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for the ARC.

A very interesting look at getting through mental road blocks. I found parts of it very helpful. Some parts not so much, but an interesting read either way.
