T.I. Frazier’s Lauren the Cow is a sweet and gentle story about persistence and positive thinking.

A young Jersey cow named Lauren lives with her mom on a farm. Lauren decides she want to be “a jumping cow!” Her mom tries to dissuade her. But Lauren has an objective in mind and she’s determined to attain it. She practices and practices, running up hills with her friend, Tim the Fox.

Lauren soon advances to bigger challenges and higher obstacles, colliding face-first with a fence. When Lauren begins to doubt her abilities, Tim the Fox cheers her on. He’s joined by other animals, all rooting for Lauren. She’s soon jumping higher and higher until…..

Oh, wait. To find out what happens next, you’ll have to read the book.

Lauren the Cow is a delightful stlory that will appeal to young elementary aged readers. The vocabulary is simple and age-appropriate. The pacing is nimble. The tone is positive and uplifting. Sentences are short and easy to digest. Vibrant colors and bright, eye-catching illustrations enhance this charming read and its gentle message of believing in yourself and following your dreams.

Lauren the Cow is just the right length. At 22 pages, it’s long enough to convey the essential theme but not too long that it will over-tax young attention spans. Overall, it is a clever and highly readable book with a surprise ending.

This sweet story will also make an excellent read aloud for parents, grandparents, or older adults. It will surely captivate its target audience of young children and those who love them.

This is a super cute book about Lauren the cow and her perseverance and hard work she puts into learning to jump. She tries over and over again until there's a humorous twist and you'll have to read the book to find out just what it is.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Oh my word! This is a feel good book about Lauren . Lauren is a calf that has a big imagination and big dreams She wants to grow up and become a jumping cow. Her mother tells her cows don't fly and instead of feeling disheartened she decides to train herself to jump. With the help of her fox friends she trains hard until she accomplishes her goal. Though it's a children's story it is also ideal for adults with big dreams but fear of failing that they don't even try. It's an encouraging book on pressing on to achieve your dreams and the power of persistence. Highly recommend! The illustrations are also amazing.

This is a delightful story about perseverance and working hard to achieve your goals. The book is beautifully illustrated and teaches children not only to have dreams, but that those dreams will require hard work to attain and will not come without trials. This is a beautiful children's story.

Cute children's book providing a good message to children. Similar message to The Little Engine That Could which was a house. The illustrations were impeccable as well.

Lauren the cow lives with her mother in the countryside. When this jersey calf grows up, she is determined to become a jumping cow.
One thing I noticed right away is how vividly illustrated this book is. Younger children will be especially drawn to these beautiful illustrations. Older children who can understand the concept of the story will appreciate the lesson it tells, as it will help them to believe in themself.
Lauren wants to be a jumping cow and as they are not known for jumping the way horses are she starts out small and works her way up to bigger and higher things, a blade of grass, a stick and has finally worked her way up to trying to jump over a fence. Lauren, try as she may fails time and again though she has plenty of encouragement from the other animals on the farm.
Will she be able to jump the fence finally and become the jumping cow she is determined to become? Children will enjoy reading this with an adult and the encouragement they'll get out of it.
Highly recommended as a positive book for children.

At first, the story started off leading to a possible inspiration. However, the end seems a little abrupt and didn't feel like it came to a cohesive end.

This book had a nice don’t-give-up message but I didn’t expect a twist at the end of a children’s book. I thought it was cute, but it wouldn’t be something I would buy for reading over and over to my six year old.

This book is a cute little story about a little cow who has a goal and works very hard to achieve it. It has a very cute ending that ties it in to a popular children’s nursery rhyme - which was a pleasant surprise.

My kids both love this story and we have read it multiple times. How Lauren gets up and tries again and again is a good lesson for young kids. The illustrations are well done and soothing on the eyes which makes it a great bedtime story.

I would recommend this book to families of young and early elementary kids alike. Would also be a good “story time” book for small groups of kids.

My thoughts ~ I loved the main character Lauren the cow. I feel like this book was about a lesson and that lesson was to never give up, work hard and you can achieve your goal. There was also good friendship building.
( altering her words to keep out spoilers )
My Daughter ~ I loved Lauren she was so pretty, she didn't give up when she was told she couldn't do something, this book made me happy.

Lauren really wants to become a jumping cow. She starts small by jumping over twigs and grass but wants most of all to be able to jump over a fence. With encouragement from her fox friend and a lot of determination, she accomplishes her goal!

The message of determination and perseverance is a wonderful one for children to learn and I appreciated that theme throughout this short book. However, the ending seemed disjointed from the rest of the book. Lauren ends up flying to the moon and her mother joins her, indicating that she knew cows could fly all along. This was an abrupt ending. I think if the flying was revealed earlier and/or hints were shown, this could have been a cool ending. But instead, it left me feeling confused.

The first thing I would like to mention about this book is the illustrations. Lauren is shown to be so cute and the facial expression of her and Tim the fox are spot on. This is the story of Lauren the young cow who wants to learn how to jump. Even though she is told cows don’t jump she is determined she will. With the help of her new friend Tim she takes different steps to make it a reality. I really like the moral of the story and the surprise at the end (to the author very clever). I think this would be a great bedtime story for toddlers and young elementary children and I highly recommend it.
