Adorable book for younger children to help them see that God is all around us! This book is very simple and easy for younger readers to comprehend that when we look around us, we can see God everywhere! A touching story for young Christians.

A lovely story about the seasons and how different aspects of nature and each time of year reflect God's love and presence in different ways. Each page features children enjoying different activities during each season of the year. The story is written like a poem with a repeated refrain and a focus on nature and God. The illustrations are charming with playful details and soft, bright colours. This would make an enjoyable read for Christian kids and families.

There was a time when one of my boys would thank God for everything during our morning prayers. He thanked God for the trees, the road signs, the road, everything. He would thank God for so much I’d finally have to gently ask him to wrap it up so his brothers could have their turn. Still, I loved those prayers. I loved how he marveled at everything around him, and was thoughtful enough to thank God for it. It’s a memory I treasure deeply, and I thought of it often while I read God, Right Here.

God, Right Here is a beautiful homage to the world around us, and all the blessings the Lord grants us throughout each season. Be it splashing in the puddles, looking at the brightly colored flowers, or basking in freshly fallen snow, Lawler reminds us this is God’s handiwork. It’s proof of who He is, proof of His love, and proof of His glory. Lawler praises the Lord alongside Poh’s beautifully illustrations culminating to one lovely, lovely book I found myself quite enchanted by. I loved the story, but I also loved Lawler’s dedication to her children, her author’s note, and the Bible verse references. It made me think of Romans 1:19–20, which reads, “Since what may be known about God is plain to them because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – His eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made so that men are without excuse” (NIV). The Lord has made Himself known through His handiwork, and what a marvel it is; the world around us is full of beauty and wonder, and God, Right Here is a wonderful way to share that message with a child you love. I highly recommend this book as an addition to anyone’s personal library.

Heartwarming, with beautiful illustrations. A great children’s book to remind us that no matter what season we are in, God is near.

This super cute book helps kids remember that God is all around us in nature. The book uses easy to understand language and has beautiful illustrations. For me, the only downside of this book is that it uses gendered language for God (calls God "he"). I understand that this may work for many families, but is something to be aware of in case it doesn't fit your theology.

This is a lovely little book introducing young readers to the seasonal changes of the year through the lens that it is all part of God’s marvelous design. This would make a wonderful gift for a young child who is just learning about the changing of the seasons.

Thank you Kara Lawler, InterVarsity Press and Netgalley for this digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

God, Right Here -Meeting God in the Changing Seasons by Kara Lawler describes how every season is God's handiwork, the presence of God and attention in the smallest details.
When I was a little girl, I was always taught how everything, especially humans were created with so much love and care. So reading this book as a 25 year old, I was reminded to not look down upon myself for my shortcomings but to work on being a better version of me and grow more in faith and God's love and to spread that same love among my brethren.

Also, the illustrations are so heartwarming. I got so lost in them. This is definitely a book that I'd want to read for my future kids💗

This was a sweet and simple book for toddlers to better understand Gods glory that we’re able to see in nature everyday. This book was a good read and helps your child recognize the little things that we overlook daily and should appreciate more because it is all the work of God. Absolutely loved the authors message and illustrations.

Started with one of my favorite Psalm, I fell in love with the book. The author obviously loves nature and found God in it. His handiworks are everywhere, and we can see, smell, touch, feel and enjoy them. With the change of season, we learned about His promises, and His faithfulness to us, not to leave us alone. A beautiful book, and a great reminder of His love and blessings in what we can sense everyday.

God, Right Here felt a bit bit short and lacked sustenance. It does however have beautiful illustrations.

Amazing Read

I received a copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review

Thank you Kara Lawler for the opportunity to read your book. This was an incredible read. I got this book so I can read it to my Sunday school kids at church. The book provides children with the knowledge that throughout the seasons God's handiwork is everywhere. He made everything in the world to fulfill His glory, and through the pictures, children learn that God will never leave us. I am glad that I can use this book as a resource for my Sunday school kids. I loved the pictures and the writing. It makes me glad to know that we can have more books like this so that children can read about what God does for us and who he is through every season. Overall, an amazing read.

This book was super cute!!

I love how she takes you through seasons and shows the beauty Gods creation of each one.

However I can’t give it a 5* because some of the writing didn’t flow and on one page there was a blurb “Gods art” was added in a weird spot and threw the movement of the story off for me. But I did enjoyed this book and reading it to my kids. So it still gets a 4* from me.

Poh takes readers on a journey through the seasons. In each, she emphasizes God's handiwork and gifts. Younger readers will connect to the activities and beauty that surrounds them as they see how the earth changes throughout the year. The illustrations capture the joy and beauty when we pay attention and see how life changes. A lovely reminder for older readers as well.

God, Right Here is an absolutely beautiful book..
The author, Kara Lawler shares how God is here through every season. The illustrations by Jeannie Poh are just gorgeous and I could feel the cold on her Winter artwork, smell the ocean in her Summer artwork as well as see the brilliant colors of the leaves for Fall and I could smell the flowers in her Spring artwork. This is a wonderful book for children and even adults will enjoy it. It shows that no matter what, God is right here, always.
I was given an ARC of this beautiful book by NetGalley for an honest review.

This children’s book has beautiful illustrations. My son is 6 months old and he liked the pictures too! I really like this as a first introduction to seasons from a Christian worldview. I like how the author mentioned all different things to love about each season and interwove scripture into the lines. I enjoyed that there was a little boy in a wheelchair on some of the pages.

What a beautiful little story. We loved it!

I received a complementary ebook copy of this story from the publisher and NetGalley. I was not asked to leave a positive review and my opinions are my own.
