Being the crafty one of my siblings, I read, and used, Beaded Friendship Bracelets as inspiration while I made friendship bracelets for my sister to trade at the Taylor Swift concert! Beaded Friendship Bracelets was a great book to help guide me through the supplies, techniques and different styles of friendship bracelets. All of the bracelets that I created were a hit at the show!

Beautifully photographed instructional manual for making beaded friendship bracelets. The book covers a multitude of types of beads and how to use them to make over a hundred types of bracelets. It encourages imagination and creativity. List of the various supplies and tools needed are pictured for clarity. This would be a good selection for Summer Reading Program planners because friendship bracelets are one of the mentioned craft ideas.

I learned a LOT! I had no idea there was so much to know about beaded bracelets, but there really is. This book is so thorough and helpful. I think it'd be a great resource for anyone looking to make this a new hobby.

This book was so informative about the tools and types of beads you can use. It starts off with a little history and then gives you "recipes" for each bracelet featured. The books covers such a variety of bracelet types and the techniques used. It details everything so well that it would be great for either a beginner or someone more advanced. I have made many bracelets over the years and I learned a few things!
Just remember, you need the right tools for success! I highly recommend this book for everyone! Nothing says "I think you are awesome" better than a handmade item!

I will be really honest, I love this kind of craft books, they give lots of interesting ideas or for a gift or to keep a child busy, I was hopping for the ideas to be more broad, different kind of bracelets, but in this book it was all about beads, and in most cases with wire and or chains, so its not very practical for young children. I was hoping for this book to have ways to thread friendship bracelets and or of the sort, with at least some of the different models…

hey it is not a bad book, but I suppose I can’t really recommend it for young kids that you want to teach an activity that will keep them busy, they will need to use some instruments and equipment that can injury so read it with care.

This is a great book for creating beautiful beaded bracelets. It explains the tools needed and even has an index for different types of beads. There are several “recipes” for creating multiple types of bracelets. The illustrations are colorful and clear!

I teach an after-school beaded jewelry class and I'm always looking for new titles to add to my shelves as well as new ideas for my kiddos. I don't think there's a whole lot of new or original ideas in this book, but when a student is stymied and can't think of an idea, this would be a helpful resource. Perhaps it would be a good "jumping off point" and would help a student get started.

I like the details in the instructions, the photos that come with the instructions, and then a photo of the completed bracelet. There are so many to choose from!

Okay. It's hard to review a craft book that's meant for kids, but there are just a couple comments to make.

First, the good:
The amount of detail that goes into teaching the different knots and describing all of the tools/supplies you need and can use is impressive. It's nice to see a book designed for beginners go into so much detail. Some of the designs are also absolutely gorgeous, too. As a crafty-type, I'm definitely looking forward to trying to make some of these...

However, maybe I didn't look at the cover closely enough to realize that almost all of these projects use the same sort of beads (thin, clay beads). Sure, there are accent beads and tassels that break up the sameness of one type of bead, but it's difficult to get a similar look if you were to use a different kind of bead (pony beads, for example).

I was also expecting a few more projects to have step-by-step instructions. Instead, there are a couple step-by-step instructions (with great visuals!), and then tons of projects with a finished-product picture and a list of supplies.

So with the complexity of some of the projects, I'm also not sure an appropriate age range for these bracelets. I'd say at least 10-12 years old. These would have definitely been a hit in my Girl Scout Camp days, for sure!

Are some of the designs wonderful and make me want to wear bracelets? Yes!
Do I especially love the Robin Hood pattern? Absolutely!
Do I think I'm going to go invest in the supplies to make them? Maybe!
Will people who already have the supplies enjoy these patterns and projects? Yeah!

A wonderful book on beading and creating friendship bracelets- or even just making unique fashion bracelets. This book goes over different materials that can be used, as well as listing items for specific projects.

Great little craft book with plenty of details about beads and bracelet making. I know in my public library, this book would be a hit!

The kindle version looks a little funky. Other than that this would be 5 stars. The designs are easy to follow and there are a ton of cute options.

What a great book AND fun blast from the past!!! The book cover alone made me nostalgic to elementary and middle school days where I spent countless hours creating different kinds of friendships bracelets. A couple of months ago I was cleaning and actually stumbled upon a dusty box of old string and beads and kept intending to donate or chuck it, so catching this on NetGalley felt like a sign I was meant to make a bracelet or two for old times sake!

What a great book for everything beaded friendship bracelets. The pictures are clear and colourful, there is detailed descriptions outlining all the different kinds of beads (and their proper names), the types of string and benefits of each, different cutters that can be used, and ways to cut down on costs to make bracelets more affordable. It walks you through everything from the tools you’ll need to start (such as glue, and beeswax), and to end off the bracelet such as the different kinds of clasps. Then the book walks through some suggested colour, pattern and bead types to make a particular look for a bracelet and it’s complete with instructions for cord type, length of material, type of knots, design, etc. Everything has really detailed pictures and I found it easy to follow.

I learned some really neat tips and tricks in the book and fully intend to try more out in the future (hello fabric beads you are a gorgeous and unique idea!!)!

Highly recommend you pick up the book! Fun for adults and kids alike, and could make a great craft adventure :)

Lovely craft book for all ages. Who doesn’t love a friendship bracelet? Bright, colourful and clear photographs of techniques and examples of finished bracelets. Everything you need to know. I found the knots very useful. I now know another use for dental floss! Make one, give it to a friend or loved one and you will feel great. Believe me it’s true!
