I absolutely loved this book, 5/5 stars! I couldn’t put this book down, it was so good. This is the first book I’ve read by Lauren H Mae and I can’t wait to read the rest of her books. It was my favourite read in January. Thank you to Netgalley, Headline Publishing and Lauren H Mae for an opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest thoughts.

"Wish Lists and Road Trips" is the first novel I've read by Lauren H. Mae. This book centers around Britt and Nick, both of who have various goals during this trip from hell. Britt has called off her wedding after years of being cheated on and decided to go on her honeymoon by herself. Nick is struggling with his brother's untimely death, and is trying to accomplish all the adventure goals his brother set for him before his passing. Everything about their trips go wrong, but it does cause their paths to cross and they decide to set off together.

I felt their decision to travel together was a little unlikely, but did enjoy how they both had important goals: Britt, to prove that she could stand on her own to feet, and Nick, to prove that life can be one wild adventure. I thought this was a cute book, and it reminded me a bit of a Hallmark movie where two strangers have to carpool together to get to their final destinations and fall in love along the way.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

5/5 stars! Considering I love Christina Lauren, Emily Henry, and Beth O'Leary, and this book is supposed to be on par with theirs, I was extremely excited to get the opportunity to read this book. I've also lost a sibling unexpectedly, so I found myself drawn to Nick's story of grief. This book was the perfect strangers to reluctant allies to lovers trope! This book hit all of the right marks for a contemporary romance, but it's also more than that. It tells the story of healing, processing loss, and what it means to depend on people. I gobbled this book up and will be searching out more by this author ASAP!

I received an advance review copy for free through NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily

Thank you to NetGalley for an arc of Wish Lists & Road Trips in exchange for an honest review. This review is wholly my own and may not be reproduced.

When I saw that this book was being compared to Emily Henry & Christina Lauren, I was tripping over myself to get in line for an arc!

This delightful rom-com revolves around Brit & Nick, complete strangers, who get stranded in Costa Rica after failing to get back onto their cruise ship in time. They work together to get back home and maybe just fall in love along the way.

This story was adorable. Brit & Nick were so likable and their adventures were downright funny at times. And you will feel the BURN!!!!

This is my go-to genre when my head is hurting from all the mystery/thrillers I read. Think of it as a palate cleanser. Something light, fun and a little bit of romance thrown in. This was absolutely a perfect & joyful read after coming off two thrillers and an extremely tedious literary fiction.

I loved this & I know you will too!!! Absolutely read this one

4.5 Stars

This was such a cute and fun read! Brit and Nick were both great characters and their chemistry felt very real when it develops throughout the book. The adventures and detours were so fun to read and I was hooked through the whole book. It would definitely be a great beach read!

As well as the cute romance, the book also focuses on grief and it felt like a very realistic portrayal of this, you could really feel everything that Nick was going through and how it was affecting him.

Wish Lists and Road Trips by Lauren H. Mae is an escapist read that was just the ticket for keeping away the chill on a cold winter day.

Brit Donovan and Nick Callaway have found themselves in Costa Rica under very differing circumstances. But when both miss their cruise ship, they must join forces to find their way back home. What ensues is a series of misadventures that will acquaint them not only with each other, but will also provide an opportunity for them to each confront their own personal demons.

This is an easy, undemanding read that helped me to pass a few pleasant hours. 3.5 stars

Many thanks to NetGalley and Headline Eternal for granting my wish by providing an ARC of this title.

First off, thank you so much for Headline Eternal for granting my wish to read Wish Lists and Road Trips! When I read the synopsis and saw the cover, I knew this one was a must-read for me! I wasn't expecting this to be my favorite read of January though.

What I loved:
- Dual POV, opposites attract, forced proximity, a bit of grumpy/sunshine, some spice
- The plot! There's a ton of plot here and subplots, but Lauren weaves them together effortlessly. From the plot regarding Brit and Nick's past, their travels, and everything in between. I enjoyed every single second.
- Nick. You can't help but love grumpy Nick and his personality.
- Brit. She's pure sunshine and made Wish Lists and Road Trips even more fun.
- I've gotta admit, reading this in January was the perfect escapist romance. This book is a perfect vacation/summer read!

Read if you liked:
- Off the Map by Trish Doller

All in all, if you're looking for an escapist opposites attract, add this one to your list! The characters are charming, the plot is fun, and you'll enjoy every moment!

A HUGE thank you to NetGalley, Lauren H. Mae, and Headline for the opportunity to read this ARC!

Two stranded strangers agree to travel together in order to return home, but when a slew of misadventures derail their plans, it might mean a chance to fall in love . . . Impossible to resist, impossible to predict, impossible to put down . . .

A sparkling read. Cosy, comforting and liberally sprinkled with magic, it’s absolutely delicious!

A steamy, opposites attract romance, ideal for fans of Emily Henry, Beth O'Leary and Christina Lauren.
.........................................

Two stranded travellers. One unexpected journey.

Makeup artist Brit Donovan wants one thing: to prove to her overbearing family that she can be independent. After breaking off her engagement to her cheating ex, she sets off on her honeymoon cruise alone to recharge before opening her own studio.

Nick Callaway isn't on a pleasure trip. Armed with his brother's ashes and a list of places, he's on a mission to fulfill a dying wish. Burdened with survivor's guilt and on a countdown to get home in time to help his family's company, the only thing he wants is to get this trip over with.

When they're both stranded in Costa Rica after missing their cruise ship, Nick and Brit team up to make their way back to the US. Complete opposites, their initial frustration - heightened by the obstacles of grounded flights and delayed trains - gives way to a searing attraction, and the feeling this may be a journey that neither will want to end.
