Daniel Hursts books just get better and better and this one was excellent I read it in less than 24hours I didn't want to put it down! It was filled with twists and tension from the very beginning to the last page! You don't want to miss this one! I highly recommend this fantastic page turner

Worst. Vacation. Ever but a suspenseful read. I read lots of vacation-themed thrillers; some can be meandering with characters that fail to accept logical conclusions. Not this book! It gets to the point but still manages to take us on a suspenseful journey. This is my third book from Daniel Hurst, and I enjoy his writing style and how his stories develop and resolve.

This book was amazing, nail bitting good. I could not stop reading it. Every time I thought I had it figured out there was a twist and it kept me hooked till the end.

This is the third book I have read by Daniel Hurst. He is quickly becoming a favorite author. I love how you get hooked right from the start and how easy the books are to read.

A wealthy woman and family invites her less fortunate best friend and family on a weekend holiday to their new luxury vacation home. It is quite remote and relaxing. That is until the woman overhears a conversation with shocking details. The two husbands do not get along nearly as well as their wives do. Throw in a teenager and a preteen and you've got a story.

I enjoyed the characters, even the ones I didn't like. As more is revealed about each person you begin to see why they are the way they are.

Several twists along the way and another surprise to finish it off. I knocked this one out in a day, which is rare for me.

I highly recommend Daniel Hurst.

There isn't much Daniel Hurst has written that i haven't read.
I like his style of writing and i can trust i will get a decent story with a few surprises.
As with all his other story's this one follows the same format and are of certain length that they can be read in a couple of sittings.
Usual great story line with a few surprises here and there. If you enjoy a thriller without to much gore then this is the one for you.

Netgalley gave me the opportuntiy to read one of Daniel Hurst's books previously and I really enjoyed it. Since then, I've purchased several of his books. I was lucky enough to get this one too. I think all his books are great psychological thrillers and this one didn't disappoint.

A deliciously, scandalous psychological thriller that will make you think about what you DON'T know about the people you love. Two families embark on a holiday together deep into the woods far away from the rush of the city. The holiday home was hours away from the city with no neighbors for miles. The holiday started out pleasantly enough until a dark secret was revealed that could destroy everything the families held dear. I read the book in one sitting because I desperately needed to know how it ended. I loved the ending because it completely caught me off guard. This was another fabulous thriller by Daniel Hurst. I would highly recommend all of his books.

The cover and synopsis of "The Holiday Home" sounded great, and I loved that the story is set in Scotland. This is a quick, enjoyable read with plenty of twist, turns, and deception. I also love that it is told in multiple POV's. Recommended for lovers of domestic mystery/suspense. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

So this one started off good. A two family vacation in a remote home. Always an appealing plot for a good mystery novel.
But then it quickly became a mess of paranoia and just bizarre.
It was ok. But very unbelievable.

A free holiday sounds like an absolute dream, but sometimes things come with a price. An isolated cabin, a raging thunderstorm and the scene is set for this very entertaining novel by Daniel Hurst. As I have said in previous reviews I find Daniel's books a little hit and miss but this is the second book of his I have read in a week and I have enjoyed both of them immensely. The book starts off with Kim and Lewis inviting their friends, Nicola, Ryan and their daughter Emily on the trip. Nicola and Ryan do not live the same kind of lifestyle that is enjoyed by Kim and Lewis so there is quite a bit of jealousy lying beneath the surface. As the story progresses people's true personalities come to life, providing us the reader with some great entertainment.

This is definitely another great book from Daniel, it is quite a quick read and I knocked it over in a few hours yesterday afternoon. Thank you to Netgalley , the author and publisher for an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an unbiased review.

Lewis and Kim, along with their teen-age son Cole, head to their holiday home in Scotland with Kim's best friend, Nicola, her husband Ryan and their 11-year-old daughter Emily, for a long weekend getaway. The weather is bad, Lewis and Ryan do not seem to be able to get along and Cole is a typical mopey, moody, 15-year-old who is even worse since there is no internet or phone service available. As the weekend progresses, things go from bad to worse. I enjoyed this book even though the characters were pretty much all unlikeable but it kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end.

A completely unputdownable and addictive psychological thriller

This was a fairly good book. I just felt it was so slow in too many spots. With the characters, it was a bit where in the end everyone loses. I did read it all the way and it was not bad, just not the great book I thought it would be.

Nicola and Ryan travel with their friends Lewis and Kim and their children to Lewis and Kim's holiday home in Scotland, ready for some relaxation time, however when Nicola overhears a conversation that brings a shocking secret to light, a series of events is set into motion that means things will never be the same again for any of them...

A brilliant thriller that keeps you turning the pages until the end. Tense and shocking, I was totally gripped. Another fantastic book from Daniel Hurst.

This was a great quick and fun read! I loved that it was set in Scotland too, my favorite place. This is my first Daniel Hurst novel and was not disappointed. The book starts off with two couples and their children going to a holiday home owned by one of the couples. Upon arriving, they are enjoying the hot tub, views and drinks. When Nicola, one of the wives reads her husbands texts, her world is turned upside down. What is supposed to be a fun weekend getaway leads to murder, deception and betrayal. This is a story about four flawed adults with a multitude of secrets and lies. After a five hour drive, they finally arrive at Lewis & Kim's Holiday Home, a cabin Ryan knows he could never afford. It is secluded and they are all anxious for a fun time. However, the weather is cool and raining and maybe an omen to what will happen. Their guests are Nicola, Kim's best friend of many years, and her husband Ryan, along with their daughter 11 year old Emily and Cole a moody 15 year old, the son of Kim & Lewis. There is tension between the two men and several disagreements. Lewis is quite strict with Cole and Ryan is more laid back and thinks Lewis should be easier on the boy. Then a text is overseen, and paranoia sets in. Soon a whispered conversation is overheard, and the story takes a tragic turn that becomes bigger as a betrayal and infidelity are exposed. Cole's story is heartbreaking because everything is happening behind his back. He is truly the innocent in the story. As the car battery is dead the three males head out into the woods to reach the main road for a phone signal to call for a mechanic. On the way back whiskey is consumed, confessions are made, and tragedy ensues. Who will survive the mess they've created?? It becomes a heart stopping moment leading to a murder and more secrets and lies. In true Daniel Hurst form, there is an unexpected twist at the end of the book that comes as a perfect surprise ending to a very good story.

Kim and Lewis invite their friends, Nicola, Ryan and their daughter Emily to their holiday cabin in Scotland for a weekend getaway. The trip starts off rough, beginning with Ryan's jealousy of their fancy cabin and all the money Kim and Lewis have. Nicola and Kim have been best friends since school, so they are hoping they can get along for the rest of the weekend. Matters only get worse when Ryan gives Cole, Kim and Lewi's son, an adult beverage. Later that evening, Nicola discovers a message on Ryan's phone from Kim telling Ryan to calm down or they will find out, She becomes suspicious and wonders if they are having an affair. But what she discovers, may be worse.

THE HOLIDAY HOME was another engaging read by Daniel Hurst. I don't know how he comes up with these incredible stories but I am a huge fan and will read all of his books. I had a feeling early on what was happening, but he got me with the final twist at the end of this one. I loved the alternating points of view and the quick pace of this story. You can easily read it in a days time, which is another bonus for me. I definitely recommend THE HOLIDAY HOME if you've enjoyed his other novels or are looking for a great thriller to add to your TBR list.

This was a very fast reading novel, I didn't like the turn it took about 75% in but otherwise it was his usual gripping, what’s going to happen next kind of book. I didn’t like any of the adult characters, they all deserved what they got except one. Wasn’t my favorite of his, but still glad I read it. The cover was Awesome.

In The Holiday Home by Daniel Hurst we follow two married couples with their two children on a holiday to Scotland. Nicola and Ryan barely makes ends meet so when the other couple, Kim and Lewis, insist on paying for the trip to their holiday home they can’t say no. As soon as they arrive tension is filling the air and secrets are about to be told.

This was a pleasant thriller read. Fast paced and with a few twists and turns. It’s the perfect book for a lazy summer day in the hammock or when you Cody up in the sofa with a piping hot cup of tea. The plot is a bit predictable and it follows the same pattern as many, many other thrillers out there, but sometimes it’s a bit comforting to read those kind of books too. I will absolutely read more from Daniel Hurst when I’m in the mood for some suspense.

Nicola and her family have been invited to join her best friend for the weekend at their luxury holiday home in Scotland. It is remote, and the weather is not what they expected.
Nicola senses something is amiss when she notices her husband, Ryan, ogling Kim as she gets into the hot tub in a revealing bikini.
Ryan does not like Lewis, Kim's husband, but is on very good terms with Kim's teenage son, Cole.

Nicola overhears a private conversation between Kim and Ryan, and discovers a secret that they are keeping from her.



I feel that Nicola has grounds to be angry, but it seems that she is hellbent on confronting Kim and Ryan and does not care about the consequences. Considering the remoteness of the house, and the fact that she would have to travel home in the same car as the rest of them, I feel she should have waited till they got home to start her battles.
I cannot say I enjoyed this immensely, it was entertaining enough to keep reading to see what happened next.
The final twist was something I did not expect.

I hope that the final edition of the book is proofread for the spelling errors and typos.
