Seven Girls Gone by Allison Brennan is the 4th book in her fantastic Quinn and Costa series. I am a big fan of Allison Brennan, who always gives us sensational mystery thrillers; and Seven Girls Gone was a fabulous addition to this series.

Beau Hebert, is a police detective in a small town, St. Augustine, Louisiana, and he is very frustrated. During the last three years, five women have been murdered, one is still missing, with no one in his department caring, as his leads continually gets squashed; and Beau suspects the police department, mayor are all corrupt. He reaches out to an old friend who works for the FBI Mobile Response Team for help. Special Agent Matt Costa and Detective Kara Quinn, as well as all of the FBI Mobile Response team are called in to help Beau.

Kara and Michael arrive first, with Kara, who is a great detective, having lots of experience working undercover. She makes it her business to visit Magnolia Inn, where many of the victims who worked there ended up being killed. Kara uses her disguise to meet many of the police and people working at the Inn. Michael goes with Beau to search the swamp for the missing girl, Lily. Matt arrives with the rest of his team, which includes Jim and Ryder. Matt (the leader of the mobile team) visits the police chief to explain that they are investigating these deaths, and no one from the department is happy about their being here, especially Officer Guidry, who already angered Kara, as well as Beau’s grandmother. In a short time, the seventh girl is found dead, and Kara is concerned that Winnie will be next; she is determined to get Winnie to work with them, in order to save her.

The relationship between Kara and Matt is still on the border line, as Kara isn’t sure she wants to stay with the mobile team, or go back to being a Los Angeles Detective (she on loan, and her job in LA is in jeopardy). Matt finds himself falling hard for Kara, and though she is very much attracted, she isn’t sure if she can become permanent with Matt. Kara also became close to Beau’s grandmother, and very protective. The danger escalates, as Mat, Kara, Michael, Jim (forensics expert) finds themselves under attack. To say to much more would be spoilers, as you need to read this book from start to finish.

What follows is an intense, pulse pounding thriller, with many twists and turns. Who was truly behind the corruption and murders? As we got closer to the tense climax, the danger escalated in this heart stopping thriller, with so many people involved. I could not put the book down, as the suspense was amazing. Seven Girls Gone was so very well written by Allison Brennan, that I fully recommend you read this fantastic exciting edge of your seat thriller.

When seven girls go missing and end up dead is a small town, Beau Herbert wants to make sure someone pays. However, he’s convinced the department is corrupt and calls a friend from his Navy days, who just so happens to be FBI. Will they figure out who is responsible and can they clean up the department before another girl vanishes?

Brennan does a great job describing the remote Louisiana scenery, so much so, I could picture it clearly. What really worked was the character development. With a team of characters it’s often hard to give so many people the right amount of exposure at the right time, but it’s well done here. Every woman will be Kara’s biggest cheerleader and every man will want to be in Matt’s place. My only caution is the action slows down in places, giving you places that you want a break.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and am probably going to go back and read books 1-3!

Absolutely chilling! A dark gritty story about the underbelly of a bayou town. Wonderfully colourful characters that bring the setting to life. A heartwrenching plot that terrifys you and saddens you at the same time. Fear and suspense abound. So well written you feel like you are in the plot. A deep dark spiral full of anticipation and horror.

A favourite Author. A fabulous series. This is Book #4. Can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading them all. Twists and turns galore. This book will have you sitting on the edge of your chair as you try to figure out what happened to the missing women. Don’t miss this amazing book. I highly recommend it as I do everything Ms. Brennan writes. Thanks to NetGalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing and the Author for allowing me to read and review this book.

Book #4 in the Quinn & Costa Series. Let’s just say I love this series so much that I read Books 2 to 4 in a week! Now I’m sad I’m going to have to wait a year to read Book #5

I recently got tired of reading police procedurals, but this one is so different than what I’m used it, I just love this series so much! Allison is so good at weaving multiple storylines together seamlessly while keeping suspense and tension in the story.

She also has a knack for writing lovable characters! In this one, I fell in love with Beau and his grandmother, and St. Augustine (minus the bad parts) but Allison really painted the town as a quiet charming bayou town.

Another part that had me falling in love with this series is the dynamic of the crew on the Mobile Response Team. They work so well together and are starting to build a little family. I love that dynamic. Also, let’s not forget the steamy dynamic between Kara and Matt!! I can’t wait to see where that goes!

It's the deep south in the Bayou of Louisiana. Police detective Beau Hebert has been focused on the solving the murder of 5 local girls and 2 that are missing. A well known betrothal/bar is the focus of his investigation. The police chief puts road blocks on his investigation and Beau knows he is is too close to the case. How are the deaths related He calls his old Seals team member Michael. Michael brings in the troops Matt and Kara and other parts of the team. They have a mobile CSI unit that they use that is state of the art in crime solving. Each team member has something to offer in solving this case. Kara with her ability to blend into the small town and try to observe suspects and possible victims. Matt with his ability to bring the team together and keep them focused and going forward in the case. Michael with his loyalty to his job and friends. He is the friend for life.

With many moving parts and a team that works well together. Plus the chemistry between Kara and Matt keeps the tension in high gear, you become invested. Reading several books of this series, Kara's character is very multi dimensional. She is the vulnerable, loyal, fierce - a real contradiction in the making. Thriller where justice is defined. I am fan.

A special thank you to Harlequin and Ne

“Seven Girls Gone” by Allison Brennan 🔍

This book investigates the murders of 7 girls at the Magnolia Inn … which is a hot spot for selling sex and drugs. It seems as though the police have turned a blind eye to these murders and any leads on these cases have gone cold 💀

The residents of St Augustine, Louisiana know everything about everyone .. are not so welcoming to newcomers .. and also ensure that secrets stay HIDDEN 🤐

This story of small town corruption, murder and crazy plot twists will keep you on edge throughout! I cannot wait to read more from this author! This is the fourth book in the Quinn and Costa series! I did not know that it was part of a series and I was able to follow along without feeling lost!

BOOK RATING: 🖤🖤🖤/5

Thank you kindly to @_mira_books_ @harpercollinsca @htpbooks @netgalley @abwrites for my advanced digital copy in exchange for my honest review! This book releases on April 25, 2023!

This is my third novel that I have read in 2023 by @abwrites 🖤 Seven Girls Gone is the fourth book in the Quinn & Costa series and is my favorite in the series so far! First, this cover is gorgeous! In this series installment, the FBI’s Mobile Response Team finds themselves in the small bayou town of St. Augustine, Louisiana. There have been 7 girls who have gone missing and then found murdered in the past three years. Then a witness dies while in local police custody. Detective Quinn, Special Agent Costa, and the rest of the team have their work cut out for them to solve what is going on in this small town.

Have you read any books in the Quinn and Costa series?! If not, I highly recommend this series and Seven Girls Gone!

Thank you @_mira_books_ and @netgalley for allowing me to read this book ahead of publication in exchange for my honest opinion.

The Mobile Response Team is on another case; this time they’re in Louisiana looking into seven dead women. This isn’t like other cases they’ve worked though because this time they haven’t been invited in. They hear about the case from an old friend, a local cop, who thinks that there is corruption in the department. There’s lots of pushback, but Costa and his team are determined to solve this case, and Costa is determined to keep his relationship with Kara Quinn even though he can sense her pulling away. This book was another great installment to the series. As always the readers get several perspectives; this book focuses on not only the team, but Beau, the local cop, his grandmother, an informant, and several others. Much of this book is told through dialogue about the case, but it will keep readers guessing until the end. There were a lot of players in this novel, many of which have the same last names, so it may be hard to keep track of everyone. All of the characters just add to the believability of the story though. This book is a must for readers who’ve read the rest of the series; this one doesn’t quite work as a standalone.

If you are looking for a fast-paced, thilling read, look no further than this one. This can be read as a stand alone, but I recommend the whole series from the beginning. This is book #4, and it is the best so far in the series. There is no doubt that I am a fan, and I cannot wait for more. This is the latest book in the "Quinn and Costa" series, and I am so sad that I am completely caught up!

This time around the FBI's Mobile Response Team head down to Louisiana. One of the team members, Special Agent Michael Harris gets a call from an old friend in the Navy who now works as a local police officer. He is dealing with unsolved murders, evidence disappearing, a lot of fear, and no one is listening him. He needs help, so he calls in his friend. Agent Harris heads down with Detective Kara Quinn to see what is going on. This is the start of a case that starts out as murder, but has a lot of unanswered questions and everyone is in danger. Special Agent in Charge Matt Costa brings in his team to help solve this case.

What I really like about this series is that every case is unique. Each team member plays a pivotal role and the cases show how important each team member is to solving the case. The story moves fast in this one, as it does in each installment. I couldn't put the book down! I love Detective Kara Quinn - there is still so much to learn about her. I also enjoy seeing more of each character as we get to spend more time with them.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the advanced reader copy of this book - I really appreciate it! I am not-very-patiently waiting for the next book in this series. If you love a good, solid thriller with a mystery, as well as strong elements of romantic suspense, pick up this series. This book releases on April 25, 2023. Once you start this series, you will not want to stop!

In the small town of St Augustine's most of the people in power are corrupt, including the sheriff. When women begin disappearing detective Beau Herbert is the only one questioning their disappearance and realizes he needs outside help. He calls his old army buddy who is now FBI and the town erupts trying to protect there secrets but the body count continues to rise.
I enjoyed this story, the characters were great and the twists and turns where enough to keep me glued to the pages. The romance was kept to a minimum and didn't detract from the story which made me happy. I read the book in two setting but honestly wanted to finish it in one. Highly recommend this book and hope to see some of these characters again.

I like the Costa and Quinn series and their team but this book was so hard for me to get into. Right from the start, the bad people were introduced and disliked immediately. After reading a quarter of the book, I had to start skimming and skipping. I finally started really reading again for the last 25% as things were coming together. The ending was satisfying and, honestly, I didn’t feel as though I missed anything.

Anytime I am looking for a good thriller mystery I check to see if Allison Brennan has anything that I have not read before. When I saw that Seven Girls Gone was available I jumped at the chance to read it. Once again, I was not disappointed. Seven Girls Gone is phenomenal.

The setting of Louisiana was perfect. I liked the different locations that seemed so realistic to what I would expect to find if I ever visit. The people with their southern charm but also their sense of loyalty to their friends and town were perfect. Mimi, is the perfect southern grandmother and I loved so much how she embraced everyone who walked through her door.

Seven Girls Gone is a great book. The storyline is full of twists and turns.

Thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing, and MIRA for access to this ARC in exchange for honest feedback.

I enjoyed Allison Brennan’s thriller immensely. When I finished is when I realized it was over 400 pages long — which is definitely on the long side for a book of this genre, I think. I read it in one sitting because it was gripping and engaging, and it didn’t feel long at all.

The character development is done meaningfully, and Brennan takes the time to develop complex relationships between characters, as well, which I loved. Her descriptions of crime scenes and settings are extremely detailed without ever being redundant or dragging on.

I also didn’t realize this was 4th in a series — I didn’t know about the series before I got the ARC. I liked it enough that I want to check out the previous 3.

Brennan doesn’t shy away from discussing complex issues that arise in the politics and day to day life of rural American towns, and the consequences of being far-removed, under-resourced, and feeling neglected or forgotten. Her representation of the deep mistrust that people in small towns often feel for outsiders is masterfully written.

Review: Seven Girls Gone
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m definitely in the post-vacation blues. We were in Canada skiing for a week and I felt so free riding down the mountain without a worry in the world. Now, back to real life 😩

I read this one on the trip. I received this ARC from @netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

I think one of the main problems is that this was a series and I jumped in on book four. There were a LOT of characters, which confused me, and I didn’t feel invested.

As the title implies, it is about girls who went missing in a bayou town in Louisiana. I liked the premise, I just wanted to crave finding the solution and I didn’t. I would still pick up another book from this author, but I might try a stand-alone next time. Thank you @netgalley and @_mira_books_ for the ARC.
