Catholic parents need resources that touch upon this topic. This book is very soft on giving advice, so more devout families might need to go elsewhere. This book is appropriate for those with toddlers up to children who are beginning high school. Parents may enjoy the stories and anecdotes shared, but as for being a "survival" guide, it's more like a book about typical questions children ask, like What happens if you miss Mass? Why do we have to go to Mass? The author chooses to share experiences from Catholic parents and dole put common sense answers rather than share feedback or insights from priests/bishops or passages from the Cathechism.

I received a complimentary copy of this book via Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I actually found this book to help answer my Evangilocal friend's questions about my religion because I swear they ask more questions than children's at times. It is also a good book for Catholics like myself who were raised in the church but haven't been since their conformation.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading and learning.

This is a book that fulfills a need for Catholic parents at this time. It uses solid examples of some of the hardest questions to answer our youth in this confusing period. Whether it's sexual morality, questions about death, or whether animals are in heaven, this book provides suggestions on how to answer some of these questions. While it provides a framework, it is not a recipe, but more a "do it yourself" book for parents and grandparents trying to navigate our confusing culture.

With helpful tips such as- if you haven't been praying out loud as a family, try to structure it around, "Whoops, Wow, Please, Thank you.

Each chapter is organized with questions and answers and then ends with Key takeaways, reflect and journal and suggestions of how to practice."

I felt that this book provided easy and tangible responses to tough questions. I think this is a very helpful resource that will serve to encourage conversation and learning for both the parent and the children/youth.
