Having not read any of the previous Bedlam Bible series as well as no idea that this was part of a series initially, I liked this creepy audiobook. The narrator was really good and will definitely trying to find his other works.
The story was really great and very atmospheric and will be trying some of the other books in the Bedlam Bible series.

This was an excellent creepy listen. I loved the way the narrator added to the dark atmosphere of the stories. An author definitely want to read more of.

After I listen to 12 residents dreaming I got hooked! I want to listen to all his creepy 8th Block series. Its creepy and so entertaining! Loved the narrator. Its a quick audiobook to listen but I wouldn't mind if it was longer even.

This book had amazing descriptions! The narrator of the audiobook was the perfect choice. Nice and creepy. A quick enjoyable book.

Another random story written by Pauley III and yet again I find myself enjoying it although I wish this one was slightly longer.

4 stars. While this hasn’t been my favorite in the series, I can’t deny that this is masterfully written and extremely witty. I enjoyed the style of writing and it really demonstrates the author’s talent. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you Netgalley for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

Creepy and eerie, this book gave me the chills and I did not want to read it at night! The atmosphere was good, and the writing style was easy to read and fall into.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an audiobook. This book was a really good experience. I’m usually not into these kinds of books that feel like a fever dream, hence the 3 stars.

Weird and wonderful, another to get your mind racing and keep you listening.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for gifting me this arc in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

Really enjoyed the book from start to finish. Author wrote this with great pace. This book is now one of my top books of the year for sure. Loved every second of this book.

Weird for the sake of being weird and I oddly like it.

If someone had told me I was going to be reading a poem/song for NetGalley I really would have told them that they were confused.

But here I am.

Nice addition to The Bedlam Bible. Book 5.

WHY do the hardback & PPB have different covers? Choices … cuz this is a cover buy!

Absurd. I’ve got a couple more to read.

Honest do not know how I fully felt about this audio book poem.
It essentially is a cosmic horror poem, about a being named Old Joe Booth. His life spans from the start of life on earth to modern time.I unfortunately listened to this multiple times well hospitalized, and every single time I ended up falling asleep.
Each time having to restart it where I last remembered before nodding off. I loved Holus Bolus so I thought I would like this one as well. I do not feel like I can rightfully rate this poem audiobook, because I couldn't stay awake or fully focus and remember the story (side note: I have adhd as well)
I got a copy from #NetGalley as an arc audiobook to listen to.
I thought I would request it to listen to because I had not a lot to do, a lot of time and listening to audiobooks was a better way to spend my time well unable to read. I can't listen to it anymore, and I couldn't even remember the ending.. I don’t really want to give this a star rating. I didn’t on goodreads but I guess 2.

Super weird and way too vibes only. I saw how the cosmic horror elements were supposed to play a role in this but it just didn't work. It was just jibberish after the 56% mark.

This was my first book by the author but it has me hooked on the author now. This was a nice creepy book. I enjoyed it!

Started out a bit confused by the lore, but the longer I listened to it the better it got. The ending is very fitting, not every horror story needs a hero and a happy end. The body horror was horrifying in a good way and left me slightly nauseated. The narrator manages to campture the atmosphere perfectly, giving the whole story a poetic feel.

This was an interesting listen. I haven’t read the rest of the series so maybe i’m missing some content to this book but i still found it to be a creepy, fun book. It felt like a stream of consciousness. This was a defiantly haunting piece and I listened to it in one sitting with it being a short book.

Big thanks to Netgalley for the audioARC.

The Ballad of Old Joe Booth by William Pauley III.
Narrated by Connor Brannigan.
A Song For Eighth Block.
The Bedlam Bible #5.
Some monsters are impossible to see. This is The Ballad of Old Joe Booth. An epic poem in four parts. A song for Eighth Block.
I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. I loved the narrator. I loved the cover that's what drew me to this book. 5*.

This book is introduced as an intermission in the bedlam bible series- however, this is anything BUT a filler.

“We must remember there are some reading these books who have yet to face this terrible beast head on. Surely, in the eyes of these fortunate souls, these sacred texts are but a bundle of bizarre musings and nothing more - weird for the sake of being weird.” Those who get it, GET IT.

If you had told me when I started this series that one of these books would make me cry, I would have thought the radiation in the walls was starting to get to you. This starts off strong with a deeply moving authors note and transitions into a beautiful story that reads more like poetry to me than anything else.

Pauley’s writing is so fucking genius. There is no other way for me to explain it.

Man, for such short reads these books pack a lot of punch! Nothing wrong with some lunch hour horror!
