Sparks fly when Remy pulls a stranger out of the waves in front of her house, becoming in that moment the only person he's ever remembered meeting. Jeremiah is obviously wealthy but has no idea who he is or who would have pushed him off a boat into the ocean.

Remy, like Finley (Wade's last book), was a character whose personality and lifestyle I couldn't relate to at all, but I wanted to know what would happen to her and Jeremiah. I loved the unique supporting cast. The moment Jude appeared, I knew he was the one I would have been more likely to pick and am looking forward to his book.

The biggest difference between this book and everything else I've read from Wade is this one is missing the clear explanation of the gospel she usually brings. To say the faith thread is light in this story is an understatement; I had no idea at the end of the book even where the characters ' faith stood. If you're looking for more of a general market clean read with Wade's signature style, this is it, but I personally will be looking forward to seeing her return to the strong faith messages that drew me to her books in the first place.

I read an copy of this book provided by the publisher and Netgalley so I could write a honest review, and all opinions are my own.

Remy was such a quirky character, but the reason behind her wanting to be left alone was heartbreaking. Loved the way she cared for Wendell. Jeremiah's amnesia and his mysterious past was intriguing. I felt the story was a bit drawn out with lots of inconsequential characters.

I completely adored this book! Filled with intriguing mystery, swoony romance and a beautiful message of worth and sacrifice, Memory Lane is a fantastical start to the Sons of Scandal series! Remy Reed, a talented wood sculptor, has always been happy in the solitude her cottage at Islehaven brings, crafting fine art and imagining fantasies of dragons and princesses. She wants no one else to deal with except the friends she has already made. Until one day she finds a man at sea, stranded and with no memory of who he is. She can’t afford the trouble he brings, but there is just something about him that awakens a sense of wanting more than her life of seclusion. Both the heroine and hero deal with heavy topics like trauma and “scandals” in their lives and I loved to see how they both flourished in spite of them and became better people not just for each other but for themselves. Remy and Jonah have my heart, always! Cannot wait for book 2!

Thank you for the ARC of this book!!

I'm giving this book 3.5 stars out of 5.

The book started off great and I was immediately pulled into the book. I really liked Jeremiah and Remy's characters and the amnesia angle of the book. Then I started to loose interest as the book went on. It seemed to really drag on in the middle for me. Then towards the end, it really picked back up. I absolutely loved the ending of this book! Wow, I really wasn't expecting that.

Overall, a solid read and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

What I read: Memory Lane by Becky Wade

Why I picked it up: I’ve read a few of her other series and loved them, so when I saw this was available from NetGalley I had to request it. I received this book for free, but all opinions are my own.

How I read it: On e-galley pretty quickly.

What it’s about: Remi moved to a small island off the coast of Maine about six years ago to find solace, quiet, and a place to do her art. Today when she sits to enjoy the view, she finds someone bobbing out in the ocean. She ends up rescuing him, calling him Jonah because he has amnesia and can’t remember who he is, and nursing him back to health. At one point they need to take him to the mainland for medical care and the doctor recognizes him – which sets off the beginning of him getting his memory back.

What I liked: I appreciated the self-restraint and understanding that Jonah/Jeremiah has throughout the book, even when he is first rescued and in a bad place health wise. Even when she shares her past trauma, he is very understanding.

What I disliked: I wanted more – which is guess is okay since this is the first in a planned series of at least 3 – one for each brother. We were introduced to just one in this book.

Genre: Maine, trauma, chaste love story.

Rating & Recommendation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and yes – I’ve read many of her before and loved them, this one is definitely a different kind of story – but just as well done. It releases on February 14th.

Memory Lane was great! It was a different feel than a lot of Becky Wade's books but I loved it. It had sweet romance along with mild mystery and intrigue!! I can't wait to read more in the series!

This just didn't do it for me. I hadn't realised it was a christian book when picking it up but went in open minded. But overall I just didn't like the characters and wasn't invested in anything and found myself not wanting to keep reading.

This is the first book in Becky Wade’s new series, Sons of Scandal. I’ve read all of Wade’s other books, and have enjoyed them. However, I think this is my new favorite. I had a very hard time putting it down. I loved the amnesia trope. I loved the interactions between the girl trying to stay isolated and safe and the guy trying to figure out who he is. I chuckled over the great humor in a lot of the dialogue. I cried when things didn’t go the way I thought they should. I loved the mysteries that need to be solved (more than just “who am I?”!!) I can hardly wait for the next book.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own. #MemoryLanebyBeckyWade #NetGalley

I read 20% of this book, but it just wasn't for me. I like the amnesia angle of the story paired with the enemies to lovers, but the characters were just not drawing me in. I am a big fan of enemies to lovers and definitely recommend you give this book a try if you are too because the characters may click with you.

A cute closed door romance set on the coast of Maine. A reclusive artist finds a half drown man with amnesia. Not the worst read of 2023 so far, but very predictable once the first flash back happened.

A romance and mystery all rolled into one. How did Jeremiah end up in the ocean, and how did his wife die, plus does he get the girl in the end? Slow going mystery and then lots of action in the last couple chapters, but it stays interesting throughout

I was honored to receive an advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions and views are my own.
I am not keen on giving spoilers, so I want to choose my words carefully.
When Remy finds “The Duke” and gets pulled into the tangled mess of unraveling the mystery of his history, she ends up being pulled in much farther than she was prepared. As the pair continue to work together, their relationship grows unexpectedly and Remy has to face her own painful memories. The end definitely took me by surprise and had me on the edge of my seat, but the most beautiful truth that wove it’s way through the whole story is this- “I know that God has a soft spot for those of us who feel like we’ve been thrown onto the garage sale pile. A giant soft spot for us. He’s never closer to us than when we’re beaten up, unloved, and betrayed.”

Wow. Just wow.
