I have read all of the books in this series (Romantic Escapes), although each can be read as a stand-alone, and pleased that this was another marvellous read. Hattie has gone to France as wedding planner for her cousin at a French chateau owned by Luc, a handsome champagne maker. Hattie has escaped a failing relationship at home but certainly has enough to deal with when she realises the chateau has been neglected and will need a lot of work to get it to the ideal place for a wedding, along with a bit of sabotage thrown in too.
Julie always manages to mix romance and food in all the romantic escapes book and once again I wanted to be there, eating warm croissants in the sunshine, cycling down the French rural roads and drinking fizzy champagne. Great characters too as always.
This is a must read in my opinion, in fact read all of the books in the series, you really won’t be disappointed.
Thank you to Harper Collins One More Chapter and Netgalley for an advance copy of the book, my honest review however is completely my own.

I received a free copy of, The French Chateau Dream, by Julie Caplin, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. When we are not looking for something, or expecting something, thats when it usually finds us. Hattie was not looking for love, but it found her in a chateau in France. Their are so many wonderful characters in this book, Hattie, Fliss, Luc, Marthe, and so many more. A delightful read, I really like how Hattie matured in this book, standing up for herself, and not being an enabler anymore.

Everything I have come to expect from a Julie Caplin novel and more. It is filled with Champagne, food, excellent feel of a location, cameos of characters from some of her other books, sunshine, and a fabulous romance.

I mean what more could a girl want.

It's a wonderful summery read, that transports you to a French Chateau and Hattie who is a wedding planner, who has recently broken up with her boyfriend and is determined to prove that she plan a fabulous wedding for her cousin.

But nothing is quite as simple as it sounds, when it looks as though someone is trying to sabotage the wedding preparations (it's obvious to the reader who it is, but Hattie is oblivious) ,

And Luc the Frenchman who lives at the Chateau really grew on me quite fast and I absolutely adored him.

I was so absorbed in this story I thought I would read just a bit more before bed, and well read the last 25% in bed, well into the early hours of the morning (don't think it was quite starting to light again, but probably close!). I was just enjoying it so much, and was eager to see how everything would resolve itself.

Another wonderful escapist read from this talented author. I loved it so much.

Thank you to One More Chapter and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I am enjoying the Romantic Escapes series by Julie Caplin. Each book puts me in a fantastic location, and I can explore it while reading. This story takes place at a beautiful French Chateau which also is an active vineyard.

I adore the main characters of this book! Hattie is a kind-hearted soul that always seems to put herself second and is often caring for others and neglecting herself. Luc has finally put his dream as a priority, but will they come true if so many things seem to be against him? When these two meet, the chemistry explodes, and I knew both of them would be fine. Since this is a romance book, I was certain the outcome would be happy (which is why I mostly read romance books).

The book explores many themes, but I think the main one is that you are the main character in your own life. While you should not ignore the needs of others, you must be happy first and foremost in order to help anyone else. Family is not just blood relatives. You can build your family from the people that you love.

I enjoyed this book, which bought so many warm feelings to my heart and I definitely recommend it!

Thank you to HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter and NetGalley for giving me the immense pleasure of reading the advance reader copy, with no obligation to write a review. My review is written freely as a hobby, and is totally my own opinion, not influenced by receiving the ARC.

Julie Caplin has really hit her stride with the French Chateau Dream and established herself as a force within the romance genre. I always thought her work was light and fluffy really enjoyable romance, but her previous book and this one, she really shines an author able to write multi-dimensional characters, interesting plot within a gorgeous setting, the entwining of cultures and a whole lot of chemistry between her lead characters. Luc and Hattie simply ooze in the chemistry department. I just loved this book. A great summer romance read. 5 stars.

Loved it!! It was nice to see Fliss again from The Cosy Cottage in Ireland and The Christmas Castle in Scotland. I definitely enjoyed her more in this book than the previous ones. Fliss knows what she wants and isn't afraid to say what's on her mind. She's also a wonderful chef. All the food she made sounded delicious. I couldn't imagine why Hattie showed up two months in advance to plan a wedding. It seemed a bit extreme. After seeing the state of the chateau and all the dust, she made a wise choice. I guess rudeness runs in the Carter-Jones family. Gabby is just like her parents. I guess when you are that rich, it doesn't matter what you do or don't do. I now need to read the book about Nina and Sebastian. I probably would have strangled Yvette and buried her among the grape vines. She was a grown up and threw tantrums like a toddler. Hattie definitely dodged a bullet with Chris. Her future would have been waiting on him and his mom her entire life while they had one medical issue after another. He guilted her into coming back to him. Luc and Hattie were perfect for each other. It just took them longer to figure it it out.

Definitely recommend the book. This was a fun read. Loved the story, characters and writing style. Can't wait for the next book in the Romantic Escape Series. Look forward to reading more books by the author. Loved the cover of the book.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

When Hattie is offered an escape route from a stifling relationship she can have no idea of what will happen on her short stay in France. Hattie is an assistant wedding planner but resigns from her job to organise her cousin's wedding at a château in the Champagne region. On arrival she meets the son of the owner, and it is obvious that they will become an item, so it is the journey which is important. There are many interesting characters and lots of incidents. An enjoyable escape to sunny France.

Thanks to Net Galley and the publishers for the opportunity to review this book.

I very much enjoy reading this series! The books can be read as stand-alones. There is some overlap of characters but you don't need to read them in order.

Living in a French chateau has never been on my list but it is now.

I'm very much looking forward to the next book in this series!

A gorgeous book set in the Champagne region of France. Every little detail from the delicious food descriptions, stunning backdrop of the Chateau, wine, and a gorgeous hero, what’s not to love about this delightful book. The characters were so well written and added so much to the story.

This was my first book by the author but it certainly won’t be my last! I’m looking forward to reading more of Caplin’s Romantic Escapes Series.

Highly recommended summer read with five bubbly stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is another enjoyable, quick, easy read by Julie Caplin. Hattie isn’t looking for love but finds it while escaping to France after a failed relationship. It’s romance, in a French chateau, in the summer — what’s not to love?

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a review copy of this book.

Get ready to uncork Julie Caplin latest escape read by traveling to France. In the heart of wine country, Hattie finds herself planning Gabby's wedding at Luc's family's chateau.

This is Hattie's chance to pursue her wedding planning dreams while piquing Luc's interest. Caplin's charismatic characters and romantic escape reads provide traveling adventures within her captivating books. As a sneak peek, readers who love Paris, 'The French Chateau Dream' enlists a weekend in the capital city.

Thank you to #NetGalley for the early edition in exchange for an honest review. I love Caplin's novels but it felt disjointed until midway through the book and not on par with her prior titles. When the characters started working together to plan the wedding, I felt like the author recaptured in her unique style and I was swept away by the French countryside and bottles of champagne.

When Hattie's boyfriend gives her an ultimatum, it's him or her chance to start her wedding planning business by planning a wedding in France for her cousin it's just the push needs to break off a relationship that has deteriorated over the last two years.

But once she gets to the beautiful chateau in the Champagne region of France she finds it might all be a bit more than she bargained for. The chateau is a working vineyard and family home, but most of the grander rooms are grubby and in desperate need of refurbishment. In addition, the locals are hostile and she can see her first wedding being her only one.

Luc is the handsome French son of the chateau's owner. At odds with his father, he has only agreed to work for the family business if his father agrees to let him make champagne again (rather than sell the grapes to other winemakers). He only has one year to make things work and he is worried that if the wedding is a success his father will see it as a new income stream, rather than a one-off favour for an old friend, and his home will become a wedding venue.

When they first meet Luc and Hattie feel sparks, but when their agendas conflict will romance triumph?

Another gentle romance set against a backdrop of gorgeous food and wine, add in a jealous local, buried secrets and you've got a great summer read.

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

This book was OK. Not my best from this author but i enjoyed it all the same. At times I couldn’t relate to the main character Hattie and I felt that her and Luc’s relationship felt a bit rushed and slightly unbelievable.

The overall storyline was good but I wished there was more about the location or more detail about the wedding.

4 stars
