"Ten Dates" by Rachel Dove is a delightful romantic comedy that delivers laughs, heart, and plenty of charm. From the moment I met protagonist Claudia Knight and her quest to find love through ten blind dates, I was hooked. Dove's writing sparkles with wit and warmth, creating a cast of characters that feel like old friends from the very first page. As Claudia navigates the ups and downs of modern dating, I found myself rooting for her every step of the way. Each date is a delightful adventure, filled with humor, romance, and unexpected twists. Dove has crafted a story that is as heartwarming as it is hilarious, and I couldn't help but smile as I followed Claudia on her journey to find true love. With its lovable characters, witty dialogue, and swoon-worthy romance, "Ten Dates" is a feel-good read that is sure to leave a lasting impression. Dove's talent shines brightly in this charming tale, and I can't wait to see what she has in store for readers next.

I really enjoyed this book. I was hooked from the start. I did feel like it started to slow down in the middle there but it definitely picked back up at the end there. I’ll definitely read more from this author!

Ten Dates by Rachel Dove #Review

Today we have a lovely romance, Ten Dates by Rachel Dove which was published by Boldwood on 19th March.

Is it the end of their love story or just the beginning?

My Thoughts

Callum and Alice’s story is both romantic and emotional but always has a lightness of tone, despite the dramatic situation which Alice finds herself in. You always feel a connection between them but are never sure whether they will be able to find their way back to a shared life.

Family is very important in the story. Alice’s family play a big part in the ten dates as they happen. Alice longs for the type of marriage her parents and brother have but she has always had an independent streak and stubbornness which has made it hard for her to admit her feelings. You can’t help but admire Callum’s determination to get through to her and never doubt that he loves her. As Alice’s memories begin to reappear she realises that she is going to have to trust her instincts as to what is real and authentic. This is a great read if you are looking for some out and out romance.

In short: will love find a way?

There is so much to love about this book!

Strong lead characters in different ways, trauma, humour, and romance which would tug at even the hardest of heart-strings; this is a wonderful read.

It’s fair to say everyone would benefit from having a Callum in their lives. Endlessly patient, steadfast and determined to recapture Alice’s heart after she forgets their relationship following a car accident, he is the epitome of the perfect gentleman and, as such, you find yourself really rooting for him to succeed.

Alice is a very different but equally likeable character. Used to being fiercely independent, but with a wicked sense of humour, it is heart-warming to see how she begins to reconcile herself with her feelings as the story progresses.

A simple premise for a storyline, but one which the author delivers exceptionally well, making it one you want to rush through to find out if it ends in an ‘happy-ever-after’.

With thanks to the author, Rachel at Random Resources and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to participate in the tour.

My Thoughts: this book was just an absolute delight from start to finish.. the book opens with Alice just coming out of a coma.. it soon becomes clear to her family that she doesn’t recognise Callum as the love of her life.. to her he’s just her brothers best friend.

Determined to win her heart again and help her regain the memories of the last 2 years that she’s lost he recreates the ten dates from the first time round..

We get the story from the perspective of both Alice and Callum which really helped to open the story up.

You could feel the need, the want and the love dripping from Callum’s chapters, I was really hoping that his plan worked, but let me tell you I was Alice I’d have been professing my undying love for him a lot sooner! 🤣

This really was a lot of fun with a lot of laugh out loud moments, moments that made you swoon but also moments that pulled at your heart strings!

100% recommend.

A lot of women would dream of having a man/partner like Callum, his love for Alice is clear to read in this cute story. His devotion to help her remember their relationship/life together kept me hooked. This is the first novel I have read from Rachel Dove but I don't think it will be my last.

In this delightful standalone romance, Rachel Dove takes us on a journey of amnesia, second chances, and rediscovered love. Callum's unwavering devotion and Alice's relatable uncertainty as they navigate their complicated past and attempt to rebuild their relationship create a captivating slow-burn romance. With a perfect blend of childhood enemies-turned-friends-turned-lovers, relatable characters, and heartfelt moments, Dove crafts a story that tugs at the heartstrings. From the hilarious and heartwarming recreated dates to the endearing side characters, every aspect of this novel adds depth and enjoyment. As a new-to-me author, Rachel Dove impresses with her skillful storytelling, leaving me eager to explore more of her work

Rachel Dove draws you in with her story telling and always makes me both laugh and cry. One can't help but become invested in the characters and their lives. They become real people, one shares their emotions and hopes for a happy outcome. A tragic accident leaves our heroine with no memory of the past two years of her life

It's giving The Vow, which I totally love as a real life story. When a man is so head over heels he does everything in his power to get his one true love to fall in love with him all over again? I don't think there's anything better than that!

As booklovers, the main problem we have is having too many fictional boyfriends with super high standards, Rachel Dove only means to make it worse through Callum.

Thanks to Net Galley for sending me the ARC to read in exchange to an honest review, this book gets a 4 star from me because why not ?

Synopsis:-
The book tells a story of Allice who on the best night of her life suffers an unfortunate accident which leads to a 3 month comatose, while her boyfriend (could've been Fiancé) only prays for her to open her eyes

she does wake up eventually only to find out she's lost 2 years of her memory, 2 years of her best years lived, 2 years of growth, happiness and falling in love.

My Thoughts
The very first thing I loved was all the Genre combos this book had, when I picked it, I thought it would be the normal Enemies to Lovers, but no
It's got a little bit of everything, from Enemies to Lovers to Strangers to Lovers, Childhood friends, and Brother's best friend

Second, it was how every emotion, dilemma, fights, decisions and even joy were all perfect delivered, every reaction meaningful and needed.

We also get multiple POV's which made us understand the characters deeper or maybe made me fall in love with Callum harder (haha)

I'd recommend this to any one who loves rom-com, YA , or contemporary reads but it can also be a great light refreshment to those who love intense reads

Thank you NetGalley for gifting me Ten Dates! ❤️

I enjoyed reading this book. This book was a nail biting one for me.

Alice got into an accident and was in a coma. When she got out of the coma, her memory was not all there.

Callum is in love with Alice and she is everything to him.

So, I love me some Callum. He is my Denny of Grey’s Anatomy minus the bad heart. (So if this is a movie, I need Jeffrey Dean Morgan)

In my opinion Callum made this book for me. The love and dedication that he has for Alice can move mountains!

Now, I will say that this book gave me The Vow vibes….but this book is still very good.

This amnesia romance story intrigued me. Alice was in a car accident and was in a coma for over two months, yet the last thing she remembered happened in 2020, which was two years ago. It was so sad and tough to hear her forget two years of her life. And seeing her boyfriend/fiancée be heartbroken over Alice not remembering their relationship was hard. It was sweet, though, that he was willing to stick by her and take it slow to help her regain her memory.

It took a while for the "ten dates" to be introduced into the story. And I feel it took a long time for them to actually happen. I was 65% in and only two of the ten dates happened, which made the rest of the dates seemed rushed. They also spent a lot of time on some scenes, like the garden, which felt boring.

I was not attached to the characters and felt bored. There were some laughable parts though.

Thank you to the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

♥️ brother’s best friend
♥️ second chance romance
♥️ frenemies to lovers

Oh my heart! What a sweet, heartbreaking read!

Alice wakes up from a two-month long coma after a car accident and sees Callum, her brother’s annoying best friend, by her beside.

Turns out, the accident removed her memory of the last two years, and with it, the memory of falling in love with Callum. They fought for each other, they lived together, they were unmeasurably happy — and she can’t remember a single moment of it. “Her memory ended the night they began.”

Determined to win her back, Callum gives Alice a proposition - ten dates to make her fall back in love with him, just as it happened the first time around. He re-created their love story, trying to trigger her memory. The unwavering love, the dedication — total swoon!

Callum is broken. He is so devoted to Alice, and I loved that as their story went on, he was focused less on trying to force her to remember their past. Instead, he was so focused on trying to get her to fall in love with him again. 🥹 Callum is one of the sweetest heroes I’ve ever read!

Since they grew up together, they have the sweetest little moments, memories and inside jokes! It was so heartbreaking to see him have to be cautious around her. This is the love of his life, but his adult self is little more than a stranger to her now.

She always like him growing up, and she does remembers her feelings for him. The TENSION that this causes between these two! They have such sweet, intimate moments as they get to know each other again.

I was expecting a little more from the ending, but it did make me tear up nonetheless!

Thank you to @netgalley for an advanced reader copy of this book!

I absolutely loved this book.
After waking up from a coma Alice has no memory of her relationship with Callum, and he goes out of his way to recreate their courtship exactly as it was first time, a real sign of his love and devotion to her. I enjoyed the personalities of both of them that comes through throughout the story., and how Alice is slowly piecing thing together, yet thinking of Callum and what’s best for him, very emotional and well written and I couldn’t put it down.
