I thought that this was a fun early reader that I know will engage the kids and that the kids would enjoy themselves.

I had a tough time putting this graphic novel down. We see Scaredy Squirrel receive an unexpected crate, and they fear bad things might be inside it. They ask a friend for help in getting it to Antartica as quickly as they can. When this proves to be tougher than they thought, other friends come in to help. Once Scaredy finds out what is inside it, their entire mood changes. As this story comes to a close, Scaredy and their friends has a fun day playing in their new pool.

This is a super cute story. I read the first in this series and found it charming and this one is even cuter. The first installment introduced us to Scaredly Squirrel who is as neurotic as the name implies but still manages to find some friends. This second title is all about their adventures. It shows Scaredly being their whole self and the friends who care and love them. Even though this is what I saw, the actual story is just cute and fluffy. Nothing overt, but that's what I love about it. It's perfect.

The readers in my library cannot get enough of Scaredy Squirrel and neither can I! This book will not disappoint his fans. The longer format gives us more time to savor the suspense and enjoy Scaredy Squirrel's company and antics.

Such a cute book for kids beginning to read longer books on their own. Scaredy Squirrel receives a parcel from an unknown sender and is terrified to open it for fear of what might be inside. He doesn’t like surprises and is worried that it might be something bad. His friends step up to help him move it and the unthinkable happens but are Scaredy’s worst fears realized? Definitely a cute book about overcoming fears that is short enough for kids to read but long enough to get some fun jokes and a good solid feel-good story in as well.

I would like to thank the publisher, author, and netgalley for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Random House Children's, Random House Graphic, and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book.

Scaredy Squirrel is back in another fun installment; this time an unexpected crate arrives at his tree, and in true Scaredy Squirrel fashion, his mind runs through all the terrible things it could potentially be. Thanks to his friends (including a new one), they figure out what is inside, the origin, and develop a plan of how to enjoy it. Along the way, Scaredy realizes that he might have gone overboard yet again, apologizes, and and as a result, everyone is able to enjoy themselves.

This inclusions of the horoscopes seemed a bit odd to me, but they didn't really detract from anything. For me, things almost went off the rails in the middle of the book during the chaos of everyone trying to do different things at the same time, but it *was* an accurate depiction of what can happen when everyone has a different opinion about something. However, as always, adorable illustrations and a fun story.

Thank you to NetGalley, author, and publisher for a ARC of this book for review. This did not affect my review.

My son (8yo, 2nd grader, difficulty with reading) absolutely loved this book!! He read it several times and I am just now getting the chance to write our review.

If you have any background of Scaredy Squirrel you know you doesn't like surprises, change and likes routine. This matches myself and my son.

The story is about Scaredy Squirrel receiving a surprise package and immediately his senses are like oh no. My son and I liked Scaredy guessing what could possibly be in the currently upside down (oh no) package and enlisting the help of his friends to figure out how to remove this package.

We both liked learning what was in the package as well as who sent it and how Scaredy and his friends used iI. Also the ending was really sweet. My son gives this 5 stars!!

Side note: Scaredy reads his Horoscope and those of his friends at the beginning of the book which may be bothersome to some.

I received an electronic ARC from Random House Children's Publishing through NetGalley.
Scaredy is back with new adventures in this lower elementary level chapter book. A surprise crate arrives and Scaredy wants to get rid of it. He imagines all sorts of crazy items being inside. Readers will enjoy the humor as the story unfolds. Scaredy's friends help him by listening to his ideas and offering their own on how to get rid of this crate. When it accidentally cracks open, they discover it is a pool. Further disasters occur as Scaredy first wants to get rid of it and then sets up rules for them to have fun. Scaredy, Ivy, Timber and Rash figure out their friendship, support each other, and enjoy their time together.
The illustrations are colorful and fun to look at. Elementary level readers will appreciate the way the characters interact and enjoy guessing what is in the crate too.

This was an adorable read that felt geared towards preschool and up, yet still very enjoyable to my 8 year old. We both enjoyed the graphic novel format with chapters, to help early readers ease into this format. The story was cute and funny, and we just love the way Scaredy’s friends embrace his anxiety and support him, without pressuring him. Another great read in the series and it’s sure to make a great edition to homes and libraries.

The Scaredy Squirrel books are a favorite among my preschool kids, and I like reviewing the new ones to see if they would be good to add to my collection. I think this book would be great for older preschool children and younger school-age children. The graphic novel format fits well with the story being told.

Scaredy gets a mysterious package in this one that he wants to send to penguins in Antarctica. Along the way, he makes new friends and has many silly adventures with them. The humor in these books is perfect for younger children who love how Scaredy acts. I’m sure that they would love this one too.

We fell in love with Scaredy Squirrel on the Vooks app and this one is just as adorable! When Scaredy gets a surprise, he has to teach his friends all the safety rules but maybe he’ll even have some fun!

Scaredy Squirrel books are always a hit, and I love the chapter version of this book. Scaredy Squirrel and other friends work together to figure out what is the surprising item inside a crate that he receives. They come up with lots of absurd ideas of what might be in the box, including "expired yogurt" and other silly ideas.

The book is separated into chapters, in a beginner graphic novel style, with easy to read font. The characters are all equally as silly as Scaredy, and would be a great book for my patrons who want a funny book that isn't too long.

I recommend this for all schools and libraries!

Scaredy Squirrel is scared of everything, and is suspicious and thinks of the worst when he receives a surprise package. With the help of friends, he learns that surprises aren't always bad!
This is a fantastic, hilarious beginner graphic novel for young readers! The images are bright, bold, and easy to follow. The humor is spot in and readers will enjoy it.

Great for fans who enjoy Ben Clanton (Narwhal and Jelly), Mika Song (Norma and Belly), and Mo Willems.

Scaredy Squirrel, yet again, delivers another exciting and sensitive foray into life's adventures.
A surprise crate is delivered to Scaredy and all his insecurities bubble to the surface. Younger elementary students will delight in the characters' attempts to figure out the good and bad that could be contained within that box. The illustrations are so eye-catching and striking. The theme of having fun is emphasized and surely lives up to it.
