I listened to the first four Tori Hunter books but read this fifth one as an advance copy. Right off the bat, there were questions about what was going on and how various situations were going to come together— a young girl abandoned on a park bench, college students murdered in a drive by shooting, drug deals, mob hits, and more! How is this all going to come together? Kudos for keeping me on my toes from start to finish!
Now that we’re in mid-series territory, I like that Hunter and Braddock’s personal and professional lives are settling down enough that there is less drama and more focus on the case/investigation. I definitely enjoyed this fifth installment as much as the first. Keep them coming!!
*Thanks to Bookoutre and NetGalley for the advance review copy.

Tori Hunter books seem to come out when I’m not looking. So I haven’t read every book in the series. You don’t have to. This could work as a stand alone.

A brutal driveby seems to lead to a rash of murders. All of them some pretty bad guys. It is no mystery to the reader who dunnit. We are right there with her. If you’re like me. You like her. I understood her. I wanted good things for her.

I was pretty satisfied with how it all turned out. There were some good things and some bad. Some sadness and some satisfaction. I would definitely recommend.

Another Brilliant read in the excellent series!! I absolutely love the agent Tori Hunter series it’s number 5 in the series but Roger Stilljes keeps it fresh as the first one in the series!! Lots of twists and turns in this one I was on the edge of my seat!! Tori and Braddock I just love them together!! I had trouble keeping track of who is who!! It starts off with a drive by shooting in a quiet town and this was just the beginning this one was action packed full of suspense!! I Need Book 6 now!!!

Tori and Braddock are back and this series just keeps getting better. The case is full of action and suspense. Then you have Maggie who I was completely invested in. Our main characters have grown a lot over the last couple of books. I like the balance between their professional and personal relationships. I also enjoy the procedural aspects. I'm a big Steak and Eggs fan. I'm anxious to see where things go next.

I hadn't read any of this series before but if this one is anything to go by, I think I will. I do think it would have made more sense and been even better if I had read the rest of the series but that is my fault not the books. Lots of twisty turns and some breat characters and pacing.

I've been a fan of this series from the beginning and always look forward to spending more time with Tori and Braddock. They are great company to be in, and a book in this series will always promise a fast chase and a gritty crime!

The characters and their relationships are well established, but it's also easy for new readers to get on board with their dynamics, and there's a lot of great detective work to keep you gripped to the case.

For me, personally, this instalment was a little too action-heavy, and with so much going on, it made the story feel less personal compared to the rest of the series so far. But that's just my personal preference moulded from my expectations of these characters, and I have no doubt that most readers will love the action-packed thrill ride that this book takes you on.

This may not have been my favourite instalment in the series, but it's still a series that I highly recommend for those who like well-developed investigative crimes with strong characters, great twists, solid writing, and a fast pace.

(Side note: NEEDED MORE SNOW!!)

I'm on the blog tour for this on 14th so my reviews will be live then!

Agent Tori Hunter is back in book # 5 and the author is still keeping me captivated! Tori is on the hunt for a shooter of a drive by shooting killing three but is it just a drive by? There is so much going on in this book that you can't help but want to follow along with Tori and her team to uncover the truth. Love this series and this book! Read it you definitely wont' be able to put it down!

The Snow Graves is book 5 in the Agent Tori Hunter by Roger Stelljes.

I love this series. And Stelljes writes the best police thrillers. This is one of my favorites and I’ll read anything this authors writes.
I can’t get enough of Special Agent Tori Hunter and her partner Detective Will Braddock.
The Snow Graves is so well written, with sharply observed characters and the kind of fast-paced, twisty plot that keeps you turning the pages
The action and suspense are perfectly executed.
I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough, loaded with suspense, fast paced, full of mystery and nail-biting action this novel will keep you deeply engrossed all the way through.
I hope book six is in the works, because I’ve been so invested in this series and need more.

“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”

I always read Tori Hunters series and this is the fifth book of the series.

The story starts with the shooting deaths of two college students Cam and Grace. Agent Tori and Detective Braddock comes to investigate the scene and initially believe that Grace ex boyfriend Rob might be responsible but when they realize that a gang is involved the investigation soon turns deadly

The book feels like you are watching an action packed movie. It was a page turner and unputdownable with twists and turns. However I didn’t enjoy this book as I did with previous books probably because I am not into gangster themed books but then it will certainly keep the reader on edge. Overall, this was a good thriller that is worth 4 stars!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only

The survivors are victims too!😟

4-4.5🌟 stars
A really exciting but a tad long suspenseful crime novel with a good range of sympathetic characters to counterbalance the bad guys. And a woman on a mission who's decidedly stuck in the middle. This was my first read of a Stelljes work and I really enjoyed it.

This story got to me emotionally because the criminal group that touched everything off neither thought nor cared about the emotional repercussions for the loved-one survivors of their actions. All in their way (or even suspected of endangering their illegal operations) they treated as disposable. Including a nine year old deaf orphan!

I was taken with the way the story morphed midstream from a police investigation of a drive-by shooting that kills three innocent young people on a quiet suburban street to a vigilante killer's efforts to singlehandedly take out some ruthless mobsters operating in small-town Minnesota. Maggie, the former contract killer who's recreated herself and stayed under the radar, risks it all to avenge a neighbor and good friend's senseless loss of her teenage only child and protect a young deaf girl. I found Maggie a very sympathetic character despite her ruthless quest for street justice.

Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

I am a huge Tori Hunter and Braddock Fan, but I will say this was probably my least favorite out of the series. I still enjoyed it. The story just drug on a little.
With that being said I do recommend it and I recommend this entire series.

Former Special Agent Tori Hunter and her partner Detective Will Braddock are back! In an action packed, heart in the mouth captivating read.

Which sees the pair investigate what starts out as a drive by shooting. But soon turns into something so much more. As those behind the drive by try to frame a disgruntled ex.

Only thanks to a mysterious female caller. The team is able to act and, in doing so connects these deaths to a spate of mysterious disappearing drug dealers and a Chicago-based mob enterprise. That's established themselves in Manchester Bay.

And as the bodies begin to pile up and the mysterious female caller becomes more brazen. The stakes get higher.

And with so many twists and turns. This was a cracking read. That truly had me hooked and I would happily recommend this story and series to others. As genuinely each one has just got better and better.

I am back with Special Agent Tori Hunter and her partner Braddock and oh boy what an action packed crime thriller. It all starts off with a drive by shooting in a quiet town. But this is only the beginning. This is a real page turner and I literally have no nails left. This is a really good police procedural with great characters and a very intense storyline. This book kept me reading late into the night. A high octane rollercoaster of a read. And for me the best in the series so far. Loved it!!!!!!

Great characters, a compelling storyline. All the way through I was wanting to get to the end to see the finale but trying to take my time as I didn’t want it to end.
Fabulous author this my be the first Roger Stelljes book I have read but it won’t be the last.

Agent Tori Hunter is working hard as she investigates the murder of a young couple. Why were they gunned down? Then a young girl is founf sitting alone son a bench by the scene and she refuses to say anything. Tori discovers the little girl is deaf. What did this little girl see?
So much going on in this fast paced story!
So many twists and turns!
There is drug dealing, organized crime and murder.
All in all, a good read that I encourage you to pick up.

First I’d like to say I adore this author. This book, however was not my favourite. I love the normal town life/ dark uncurrent/ serial killer stories. I wasn’t really prepared for a mafia/mob/drug dealer story. The title was also really deceiving. I found this one lack the normal terror and suspense from the other books.
However, i adore the characters. Tori is one of my favourite literally hero’s. The writing was well done, the story flowed. I will absolutely still pick up the next book.
This one just wasn’t for me. Don’t let that deter you, it’s still a wonderfully written book

The Snow Graves is the fifth book in the Agent Tori Hunter series. This is the second book in the series I have read, and third book by the author. the series is intense and this new one is an action-packed thriller.

Nico signs to his deaf sister to wait here as he tries to figure out how to escape. As he hears gunshots he and Alisha run to a truck and drive away. But they are followed, and Nico leaves his sister on a park bench and signs to her to wait here as he tries to draw them away from his sister.

A young couple lies on the sidewalk gunned down. Maggie a nearby neighbor hears the gunshots and runs out to help as the shooter speeds away.

Agent Tori Hunter works the murders of Cam and Gracie, two college students who were dating. Tori is notified that a nine-year-old girl is found sitting alone on a park bench, refusing to speak. No one knows this girl and is taken to a foster home. While Tori is visiting Alisha, she realizes she is deaf. As her hands move in sign language, Alisha tells her, we had to run from the lady in the black car. I want to go home.

Tori gets a call from a woman who whispers to disguise her voice and tells Tori that she is looking at a person they are looking for. Tori will have to decide whether she can trust the information or not.

This story has just about everything you need for a pager turning mystery. Drugs, the mob, mob hits, and an informant to boot. It was extremely fast paced with so much going on. The characters are well written and extremely likeable. I really enjoyed this book.

Another excellent book in this great series. I have read and enjoyed every single one and are all as great as each other. A real page turner, I was gripped from the first page I couldn’t read it quick enough. I love the relationship between Tori & Braddock as not easy to live and work together but they make it seem easy. It’s so well written so bring on the next book, I can’t wait. Hope we don’t have to wait too long

Boom 💥

Another absolute page turner. This series gets better with every single book. I want more. I don’t do spoilers. But hot diggity…what a ride.

And I’ll say one other thing…I rooted hard for Maggie. There I said it.

My reading plate is quite full at the moment, and I wasn’t looking for another thriller, but when I saw that The Snow Graves is penned by Minnesota author Roger Stelljes, I jumped. Tori Hunter? The name sounds familiar. No, not Torii, the much beloved Twins’ center fielder. This is Tori, short for Victoria, a retired FBI Special Agent who is now living in northern Minnesota with her boyfriend Will Braddock. I was confused, because I thought I’d read at least one Hunter book, but it turns out I’d read seven of the books in the McRyan series.

This book gets rolling quickly and never stops. If drug dealing, organized crime, murder, and revenge are all things that you like in a thriller, you’re in luck. Who knew northern Minnesota could be so exciting? This story is chock full of action and, once I got into it, was hard to put down.

Tori is a likable character. She’s smart, determined, and quite capable. The other law enforcement characters are not so well fleshed out, not even Braddock. I had difficulty trying to figure out Steak and Eggs – who they were, what their names meant, even, until later in the book. A little background on them would have been helpful. There is, however, plenty of background on one other very significant character. I won’t give a name, as this would be a spoiler. I was really pulling for this individual, despite some obvious flaws. I was satisfied that the outcome was as positive as could be expected.

It's always a pleasure to read well-written stories by fellow Minnesotans. If this genre is in your wheelhouse, you might very well enjoy The Snow Graves .

I received a digital copy as an ARC in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture, and the author.
