A different twist on the YA Thriller! Who is making the secrets that the others have burned come back from the dead? It kept me on the edge of my seat and I could not put it down! I just wanted to know what was going to happen to Sam and his friends! I would highly recommend this thriller to teens!

This is my first book by Vincent Ralph.

Did I enjoy the book yes. Is it one of my favorite thrillers no. I did love how short the chapters were. It made the book speed through.

The plot was great! I didn’t get the plot twist until they were revealed which is always a good thing. I was pulled into the storyline and could picture this entire book. I think this is a good YA Thriller that people will enjoy.

I heard Vincent’s other books are fantastic and will definitely be checking them out.

Secrets Never Die is a YA mystery/thriller. The pacing is good, there are some interesting twists and turns. The conclusion was a surprising twist. My only complaint was it ended with a question as if there will be a sequel.
Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martins press for my ARC, all opinions are my own.

Sam Hall and his friends speak their deepest secrets in an abandoned space in the woods called the Dark Place. This year, however, the secrets have gotten free and are coming out to play!

This YA book is super creepy and well written. Much less angst and much more plot and interest! If you like a scary YA, a male hero (for once), or just like a scary creepy story, Secrets Never Die is for you!

Thank you to Wednesday Books for the e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book, significantly more than I expected myself to. While some of the characters fell flat from lack of description, others shined and compensated for that. I would have enjoyed this book more if it was paced better and had dropped better clues throughout that hinted at the final plot twist. Getting to the last 20% of this book felt like a completely different story that was rushed. Overall, I think the characters did act like real teenagers without reading as overly whiny and the mystery was interesting the entire time, even without a murder ever occurring.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Sam and his friends to the same thing every year. They each have secrets, that they would like to remain buried. Someone wants those secrets to come out. I liked this book.

Ever since I read 14 Ways to Die, Vincent Ralph has been an auto-read author for me. I devour all of his books & this one wasn’t any different. I absolutely love & appreciate short chapters & Ralph always delivers. While this wasn’t my favorite book by him, it was still good. I went in blind (like I said, auto-read author) & I’m so glad I did because this wasn’t anything like I was expecting.
The only thing I will say I wasn’t a fan of was that some stuff with the characters didn’t make sense. Lauren didn’t feel like a flushed out character & Elisha was a little to flighty for me. But that’s just nitpicking. Overall I liked this book a lot and will continue to read anything by Vincent Ralph!

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

This was a pretty good mystery! I enjoyed the story line and thought it was well developed. Normally, I have trouble picking out twists and turns and didn't see all the ones in this. It was good! I enjoyed it!

*I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.*

This book is ok. This is a book I wanted to enjoy but it left me wanting more. The storyline itself was good. The twists were good and unexpected. However they lacked a lot due to the lack of character development, understanding, sympathy. The story told a lot of character backstory for the main character but it was like watching/reading about a stranger. (friends of the main character didn’t have backstory introduced until much later in the book). There wasn’t any real reason or emotions tied to why we should like and feel sympathetic towards the main character. Throughout the entire book there was just a weird disconnect between the reader and the characters. If this wasn’t there the book would be a solid 4.5-5stars.

With all that being said, I would still read this book again. It was a good and easy read. It kept me wanting to read more to find out what happened.

A big hanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press/Wednesday Books for granting me a copy of this book in return for my honest opinions.

This book had short chapters which I love. I don't know why, it just seems to make the read faster and more enjoyable for me.

The book is full of action with lots of secrets, tension and an exciting cast of characters.

I became invested in the story and finished the book in one sitting.

The characters Samuel, Elisha,
Dom, Harran, Molly, and Laureen were all incredible.

Absolutely loved the creepy ending and the plot twists!!

Recommend.

This book was so easy to binge read. It was twisty, dark, and fast paced. The characters had so much more potential but I feel like they fell a little short of being well rounded. The over all plot of this book was solid. It reminded me of the movie Truth or Dare with Lucy Hale. I’ve heard great things about this author so I’ll be sure to read more from him. I didn’t realize this was a YA thriller but enjoyed it all the same!

I loved this book so much! I really didn’t know what it was about when I started reading it, but I quickly was obsessed! The characters are well developed, and I couldn’t help but love them all!

Every Halloween, Sam and his friends sneak away from the big Halloween party at Dom's house and go to the Dark Place for their annual ritual -- going into the cabin in the woods, one by one, and confessing their secret(s). However, this year everything is different, because someone/something interrupts the evening. And then they start receiving strange messages from a Sasha Craven. Someone knows their secrets and is using that information to harass and scare them. Sam, Haran, Elisha, Dom and Lauren don't know each other's secrets, but Lauren's secret comes out first (in part), and eventually all the other secrets will be revealed, which will be both devastating and freeing. The secrets some of them are carrying have profoundly shaped their lives and the lives of those they care about. However, there are even greater and deeper secrets that will be unearthed.

The story has a lot of suspense and surprises. Each friend has a reason to keep their secret hidden, but as the harassment/stalking increases and other family members become involved, the friends diverge more on what to do about the situation, and things break apart further as the secrets are uncovered. The tormentor has been playing a long game, with motives much more intricate and sinister than the teenagers would ever guess and has managed to recruit a number of willing assistants. Some of the oddest or most innocuous seeming comments or events hold vital clues.

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC for my honest opinion!

When I read the synopsis of this book, I was so excited. It seemed like a classic thriller YA story with a twist.

Three sentence summary:
Sam Hall and his friends visit an abandoned hut in the woods that they call "the Dark Place". When they visit this special place they hold "funerals" for their secrets and do not tell anyone else these secrets - not even each other. Now, someone is using these secrets and blackmailing them - who can they trust and who is watching them?

I thought this book was a good YA thriller. It took me a few chapters to get really into this book but the chapters were short and quick which kept me powering through. I thought Sam was the most flushed out character but I wish we could've known more about the other friends that visited the Dark Place with him. It was hard to understand the importance of their secrets and also just their overall relationship with Sam. I do think their secrets were not super awful but I can see why as a teenager it would feel terrifying to have these secrets revealed as they would feel like a much bigger deal.

The plot twist was interesting and the last half of the book was definitely better than the first half. I would be interested in reading more stories by this author and I would recommend this book to anyone who likes YA thriller novels especially as it comes out in September!

This was an interesting thriller.  I liked the premise of a "Dark Place" to spill secrets.  I also liked the exploration of the main characters personalities and secrets.  Things were revealed at the appropriate time and it was well done.  There were some really interesting characters.  However, I ended up not super loving the villain's motivation.  Overall, I had a pretty fun time with this story.  This was one of my eARCs from NetGalley, so thanks to the publishers for this opportunity.

3.5/5 stars! I've read other books by Vincent Ralph and enjoyed them, so I was excited to read this YA thriller. The pacing of this book was great. It was a quick read and the twists fit the story. The issue was that the characters felt really two dimensional so I didn't really care what happened to them. But a quick YA thriller with good twists and turns.

I received an advance review copy for free through NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily

This story was interesting, but it was missing something that I can’t quite put my finger on. It did get better once the big twist was revealed, but even that didn’t end on a great note. Still, it was worth reading, but I wouldn’t read it again.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC. This review contains my honest, unbiased opinion.

this book was very slow to begin--after the first chapter or twpo, I wasn't sure that I'd make it through this one. Thankfully, it picked up. Secrets whispered into the wind, blackmail, and lots of twists and turns. Readers who like a good mystery will have fun trying to figure this one out, as long as they can hang in there.

Everyone had secrets, including Sam and his friends, so every year on Halloween, they ventured into the Dark Place to unburden themselves of their pasts. When the truth comes to light, they'll find themselves questioning their friendships, but sometimes it's not your secrets that will come back to haunt you.

I was not expecting the plot twist, and I really want there to be a future sequel following Sam's new quest. Either way, it's a great story and will forever be a fall read for me.
