I love a good small town closed door romance. Might be one of my favorite types of books to read. In that note I wish there was more relationship development.

Lovely for a cozy, small-town, second chance romance read. I'd compare it to a weekend escape catching up with old friends. I thought the the setting was lovely and the chapters offered uplifting messages. From the close relationships with Grandma, to caring for family, to empowering friends, and trusting in love again. Particularly, I enjoyed the journey to both parties finding passion in their careers and strengthening each other.

I recommend this book!

I felt like this book is going to be made into a Hallmark movie.

Serendipity by the Sea is a light, romantic, and atmospheric summer read filled with young love and second chances! It was a fast- paced and such a fee- good and heartwarming story. A perfect and quick read for an afternoon at the pool or a breezy morning at the beach!

Knox left Gull Island years ago to pursue his dreams of professional photography. But his grandfather requires a surgical procedure, and he is needed to help him out during his recovery for a few weeks back on the island. When he returns, Cate and their friends can't help but wonder why he left in the first place.

Cate was heartbroken years ago when he left without an explanation, and now, finally, the opportunity to fulfill her dreams of advancing her career is right there in front of her - along with her old feelings for Knox. A sweet and uncmoplicated second chance at love is what these two need...

3.5 stars!

This was the perfect read for me at this time. My life was very busy and I needed a " get away ". This took me to a wonderful island with a very sweet romance. Although this book was short, the characters were well developed and enjoyable to get to know.

This is the first of the Gull Island series. I will be looking for the next one. I want to see where all the relationships go and who else will come to the island.

Cate is about to start her dream job when an ex-boyfriend returns to town. They still have a connection, but she is hesitant to risk everything a second time. Meanwhile, photographer Knox is back in town and when he meets Kate, there is an undeniable spark.

This was a sweet, summery romance. I loved the setting of Gull Island; this would be a great read for summer vacation! Something about small, seaside towns makes sweet romance that much sweeter. If you enjoy clean, second chance romance, you may like this one. Thank you to Getredpr, Wild Rose Press and Jennifer Vido for the ARC! “Serendipity by the Sea” is out now!

This is a beautifully written second chance romance. I loved everything about this book: the setting, the characters, and how the author makes you feel like you are there. It's a great start to a new series.
I received a complimentary copy from The Wild Rose Press via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

This second chance contemporary romance was such a sweet beach read! Set in the low-country of South Carolina, Cate and Knox are reconnected years after their high school romance when Knox returns home to help his uncle. The spark was still alive despite years apart and I enjoyed watching these two reconnect. The small town setting was uniquely highlighted through a fun scavenger hunt and it had me counting my days until summer returns.

Lovers of low-spice beach reads with idyllic settings will adore this new series.

I love second chance romances and enjoyed the small town/island feel, but it is just a bit too slow paced for me. Sorry!

This was a sweet second chance romance between Cate & Knox, high school sweethearts that went their separate ways. Knox left for college and to follow his dreams while Cate stayed in their small town of Gull Island to work in Guest Services. Now Knox is back on Gull Island to help his uncle and hopes to rekindle his relationship with Cate.

I loved the setting of Gull Island. A seaside town with lots of character. The author did a good job of bringing the town to life while also including aspects of sustainability. There was a scavenger hunt in the story which was a great way to showcase the island, and it’s small town feel.

Cate and Knox’s relationship was cute, but I really wanted more of their romance and less about their careers. I get that their jobs were pivotal to their relationship working out, but it overpowered the story and put the romance on the back burner. I don’t need my romance books to be super steamy, but a little spice would have been nice.

Read this book if you like:
- Second chance romance
- Seaside settings
- Small town vibes
- Scavenger hunts

Thank you for the review copy via NetGalley. I enjoyed this gentle story that is an ode to small town life. It is somewhat slow paced, like a gentle small sea town itself, and explores a story of second chance love and life in the Low Country. This is recommended for readers looking for a light low steam/low spice story, perfect for a Sunday afternoon with some sweet tea.

I love a good second chance romance, especially when the original romance was a high school one! This delivered. Would definitely be a good beach read.

Cate is working toward a promotion to her dream job. Life seems good and she spends time with friends and family.

Knox is a freelance photographer. But his uncle's surgery brings him back "home" to assist temporarily, but he will likely be on the road again soon.

It isn't long befoe Cate and Knox cross paths. There still seems to be a spark. But he broke her heart when he left previously and she isn't sure she wants to allow herself to become in a situation where she could again be heartbroken.

They can't seem to deny the spark and start spending time together, often with their friends. Cate finds herself falling again, but she is wary. Knox feels the feelings. But when a job offer he can't refuse comes along, will he run again? Or will he decide to stay and allow his relationship with Cate to grow?

This was a good read. I liked the mains and was rooting for them. I enjoyed the supporting cast of characters as well. And the descriptions of the scenery made me long for summer and a beach day!

Many thanks to NetGalley and The Wild Rose Press, Inc., for an ARC in exchange for my honest review!

I received this book from Netgalley. This was a quick and easy read for me. A typical beach read where you know how the story is going to end. Overall, I enjoyed it. I liked the characters as well. However, I also felt like not too much actually happened in the story.

The one thing that irked me was that Knox was offered an amazing opportunity and his friends didn't even seem supportive. Like they were more concerned about how it affected them. Props to Cate though because she actually did give a slight thought to the possibility of them being able to do the distance thing. Also, Jackson changing his mind from swimming to cooking felt a bit odd. I have no problem with the fact that he changed, but he didn't seem to be training all that much in order to actually make a career out of it.

Overall, a nice, quick read.

This is the 1st book of The Gull Island series, it can be read as stand alone. My first in this series and this book is good. Old flame reunited, the spark still there, lead to posibble reconcile. Then life happend, biggest carrer opportunity threat shaking love boat, i annoyed how Knox wishy washy feel like smal island not his life, running from Cate. What a coward.

Thank you to NetGalley for provide this book, it is pleasure to review this book.

Serendipity: a chance encounter that turns your life upside down for the better. Such is what happens to Knox when he returns home to take care of his uncle. His encounters with his old flame, Cate, rekindle all his old feelings for her. She is love-struck by him again. All is not sunshine and daisies as Knox has to decide to stay or chase his career away from Cate and the island he loves.
