This is the second book in the series Broken Bonds and It’s a young adult paranormal fantasy romance. Honestly I don't know how Raven More managed to ratchet up the tension, anticipation, and total need to find out what happens next from Of Blood and Crowns.

The sequel was keeping me on the edge of my seat from the first page to the last - meaning that I ABSOLUTELY MUST have the next book to find out what happens!

I am completely hooked on this series. The characters are believable and realistic, the situations are relatable to the point where you're feeling the emotions as if you're in the room with the main characters, and each victory or defeat is felt as if the reader was personally involved in the rebellion.

"Of Blood and Betrayal" is the perfect merger of Collins' "Hunger Games" series and Aveyard's "Red Queen." I cannot wait to find out what happens next.

Thank you to NetGalley, Author Collective 20, and Raven More for the opportunity to read Of Blood and Betrayal in exchange for an honest review.

Of Blood and Betrayal is the second installment in the Broken Bonds trilogy, following Of Blood and Crowns.

Picking up about six months after the events of the first novel, this story follows Valencia, her romantic interest, Ryker, and the band of rebels they have gathered. In search of allies to face against the queen, Valencia's mother, they find opportunity in negotiations with the European Council.

Mualites are the ones with special abilities. Are they seen in Valencia's country as lower class citizens because of this power, or are the leaders in fear of this power, shutting these people down? Not only do Ryker, his sister Emery, and some of the other people Valencia rides with have powers, but she has a power of her own. As the war against her mother wages, she finds that it may be time to use these gifts in order to win.

This second installment is an exciting addition to the series, escalating the action as the war progresses, as well as further developing and deepening the romance between Valencia and Ryker. While Book 1 felt a bit fast for the romance, it fits well here and continues to grow intensely, adding that need of romantic intrigue for the reader. The world building continues to add flavorful elements with new locations and technologies to progress the story.

While I wasn't quite as engaged as I was with the first novel, I still found this book to be fast-paced and exciting. A really great addition to a young adult trilogy perfect for teen readers who are fans of romance and science-fiction/fantasy genres.

thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy of blood and betrayal. this is the second book, i did read it even though it didnt love the first. again i think pacing is off and the world building is lacking. we are flying through adventures and theres not enough to back it all up

Nooooo not a cliff hanger! I also didn’t realize this was book 2 so I had to go read the first one. Tons of action in the futuristic dystopian novel. Lots going on, so sometimes it was a little hard for my to picture and follow, but entertaining for sure. Some fade to black romance between Ryker and Valencia. I enjoyed this one.

Thank you SO MUCH to NetGalley's Author Collective 20 for allowing me to read the second book in the Broken Bonds series prior to publication - I found the first book the same way, and as soon as I saw there was a sequel, I KNEW I had to read it. And let me tell you, I was NOT disappointed.

I don't know how Raven More managed to ratchet up the tension, anticipation, and total need to find out what happens next from Of Blood and Crowns to the amazing ride that is Of Blood and Betrayal, but oh my goodness, did she ever succeed.

The sequel surpassed my wildest expectations, keeping me on the edge of my seat from the first page to the last - meaning that I ABSOLUTELY MUST have the next book to find out what happens!

4/5 stars! I was drawn to this book because of its interesting cover and the fact that I enjoy a good fantasy romance. I hadn't realized this was book 2 in the series, so it took a little time to fill in the blanks from that story, but overall it still worked for me. Raven experienced so much growth during the story and her and Ryker's romance was just the right level of spicy.

I received an advance review copy for free through NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily

I got about 25 percent in and thought “something is missing here” and there was… book 1. I’m an imbecile and didn’t realize or see it in description (though I am pretty sure it was edited to add that after I received) what I did read was VERY promising, promising enough that I bought book 1 and will come back to book 2. When I do so I will edit this review with my thoughts. Thank you so much for the arc and I am incredibly sorry I missed the “book 2” in description.

I loved this. The second installment of this series was just as amazing as the first. Seeing their love blossom more and more was fantastic. Seeing they fight for their freedom and fighting for their friends and the people they loved, I loved that. There were some twists and I liked them all. It ended in a cliffhanger and I'm dying to know what happens next. I need the next book so freaking bad

Thank you NetGalley for a eCopy of this book to review

Having not read the first book in the series I struggled a little with the back story, who the different characters were and what the different beings were. however, I did enjoy the story of how Raven made it to a place of safety and the difficulties she faced along the way with her friends. It did get a little confusing in places and the it was a little slow at times. Overall it was a good fantasy adventure

This was a great book that hooked me right from the beginning of the story! Raven does a great job with world building in this book as well as creating complex characters that you're instantly curious about. This book was definitely a page turner that featured great characters, intriguing storylines, action packed scenes, and some good old fantasy!

The cover of this book is so cool & definitely one of my favourite parts of it! I can't wait to get more of Raven's works now that I'm immersed in this book! Of Blood and Betrayal is definitely a book to look out for because you're not going to want to miss this story!

Thank you NetGalley for an eArc of this book in exchange for an honest review!
