I love Carolyn Brown's quirky characters, and the Lucky Shamrock is full of them. This is the story of 3 (rivaling and very different) cousins brought together by the grandmother who owns a floral shop. Each girl is facing their own life issues, but throughout the summer in Texas, they grow to know each other and become closer than ever before. This is a fun book with some pretty funny scenes and lines. In the end The Lucky Shamrock is about family, love, trust, and forgiveness. I would highly recommend this book and any book by Carolyn Brown to anyone. Pick this book up for a fun, lighthearted, heartwarming, and entertaining read!

Taryn, Anna Rose, and Jorja return to their hometown, Shamrock, TX, agreeing to assist in their grandmother's flower shop, The Lucky Shamrock, as she cares for her friend Ruby post-hip surgery. Unbeknownst to them, each cousin harbors secrets, leading them to rely on one another more than anticipated. Residing above the shop is Clinton, an attractive war veteran with family wealth, deemed the town's most eligible bachelor. Despite several ladies vying for his hand in marriage, Clinton is dedicated to supporting veterans with PTSD. Remarkably, he even considers temporary custody of a charming baby to help one of his fellow vets seek assistance.

The book is a heartwarming tale of these women’s transformation from reluctant helpers to supportive friends, emphasizing love, tenacity, and strength in the face of challenges. The trio faces challenges, from mean girls to family dynamics. The surprise ending has a profound impact, with a particular character confronting their issues. Amidst the main story, a subtle romance develops between Taryn and Clinton, growing through shared responsibilities and friendship. The satisfying epilogue offers a glimpse into everyone's lives a year later.

This is a good book. The three main characters are Jordan, Anna Rose and Taryn. They are cousins, who have come home to help their grandmother run her flower shop. They each have had heartache and are learning how to deal with it. They are all three looking for romance and they find it and fall in love.

When their grandmother becomes ill, three cousins return to Shamrock, Texas, to manage her flower shop, The Lucky Shamrock. The cousins don't get along and hold many grudges against each other. Clinton, who lives in the apartment above the flower shop and helps out where needed, finds himself refereeing. There is some romance and relationship repair as the cousins learn about each other and their grandmother. I enjoyed reading The Luck Shamrock.

Three cousins arrive back where they grew up in Shamrock Texas and the floral shop where their grandmother owns, to help her as she recovers from surgery. Each cousin has secrets but between them, they must begin to rely on each other. Slowly they all the while watching women from the town throwing themselves at Clinton Wheeler, later they find out why. The story though has moments of closeness between the cousins and times of pain being shared but they all become too lean on each other. There are also times of laughter and fun as well. A really good story with many good characters, very much worth the read.

three cousins returned to their hometown to take care of business for their grandmother while she was having surgery, however, the cousins aren't as close as they used to be.

it was a fun read about family, their relationship with each other, and their life in a small town as well as the hidden secrets that have to be told in order to move forward.

Thank you to NetGalley, Carolyn Brown and Montlake for the Arc of The Lucky Shamrock. This is my personal review.

The story was ok mostly and I enjoyed it, but it just didn’t hold my interest. It was an easy read, but it was just as easy to put down. It felt very unrealistic, I couldn’t get invested in the characters and it dragged a bit for my liking.

Carolyn Brown is a new author to me and even though this isn’t a book I can rave about I will look for another to read.

Any book by Carolyn Brown means a great book to read. Shamrock is not in Ireland but Texas. Family helps family even when you have to return to help grandma with her florist shop while grandma helps her best friend recover from a fall. Three cousins with three different personalities return to where they spent their adolescence working in grandmother’s shop. Delightful story.

It may be hotter than a firecracker outside in this Texas small town, but that is nothing to the heat this trio of feuding cousins can generate when they all come back to their hometown to take care of their grandmother’s flower shop when she needs them.

It has been an age since I even bothered to look hard at a blurb for a Carolyn Brown book before I just dove right in knowing I’d love meeting her new cast of characters in the latest situation. In this case, we have three girl cousins who are about to face up with their pasts, with each other, and see their way clear to a happy future. Even their painful past associations with Shamrock, Texas and their bickering behavior around each other don’t stop them from rushing to help their special, sassy grandmother when she needs them.

I like how The Lucky Shamrock introduces the women and the situation and then slowly paces out as they work out their lives and grow close as they share their darkest secrets. There is a lovely blend of three generations from their gran and her friends to the little baby who captures Taryn’s heart especially when she helps Clinton look after one of his military clients’ baby while the woman is in rehab.

Ah yes, Carolyn Brown might make her readers chuck with the sassy comebacks and downhome dialogue and daily life, but she dug deep into a few different mental health struggles such as what those associated with military combat face, abuse from a relationship partner and a case of high school drugged and raped. My heart broke for these situations, but also warmed by the tight knit crew of family and friends in this one.

The antics of the gold-digging women over Clinton and the bantering around the flower shop were a nice sweet and funny balance to the darker issues going on inside some of them.

I love the way I settle in and get comfortable like with a long-time friend when I get my hands on a Carolyn Brown women’s fic. The small town atmosphere and relationship connections adds country cozy experience not to be missed.

This was a family saga/drama that brought them back to Shamrock, Texas when there was a need. Taryn, Anna Rose and Jorja were all cousins who couldn't get along. When their grandma Irene needed their help to run her flower shop in Shamrock, Texas, while she was helping her best friend, they all came together. Grandma Irene was determined to help these three build a bond and she wasn't going to intervene unless there was blood or broken bones.

When the three cousins arrived at the flower shop, they discovered a handsome veteran was living in the apartment above the flower shop. Clinton had been hired to help Irene with deliveries and around the flower shop. Clinton became an integral part of this wonderful story, along with baby Zoe and Forrest, and Quincy.

There is so much more to this story than romance. It's about family bonds, healing from past hurts and learning to trust again. This author does a fabulous job of weaving a story that draws you in and makes you feel like you are a part of the family.

I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.

This book was so sweet! I loved that it was a small town feel, and it was a small town near where I live, which made it all the more fun! I had a bit of trouble right at first remembering who was who and keeping stories straight. But I love all three cousins and each of their journeys was well described! Their Grandmother and her friend were a delight as well. This was a great read for sure! I'll definitely pick up more reads by Carolyn Brown!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy to review. All opinions are my own.

The story is about three cousins that have to help their grandmother run the family flower shop while she is away. The cousins have a lot going on within their personal life. It was just a bit too much going on for me.
Overall, the storyline seemed to drag on in parts and my mind would wander. It was a ok read for me.

Carolyn Brown takes readers to a small town in Texas in "The Lucky Shamrock". Three cousins come together for the summer to assist their grandmother in the running of her floral business. While in town, they come to terms and face down some demons of their pasts. Each has moved on from this small town where they grew up, but will they learn to love it and stay? Clinton was a great addition to the story. His outlook on life and his steadfastness was a pinnacle for these three cousins. I loved this story and felt like I was right there in the pages with them.
