This Spells Love was so cute and immersive. I fell in love with the charcters and with the town of Hamilton. I'll be reading more of Kate Robb

Very fun and super cute. Dax and Gemma are so adorable. I loved the spells. It was funny and heartwarming

Amazing and adorable! I loved this book from start to finish! I could see it like a movie in my head.
I cannot wait to read more from Kate Robb and recommend her to others!

Was a very cute book, I did like it. Was a little slow at times for me but would recommend. I wished it was a little more witchy.

The parallel universe/road-not-traveled plot is showing up a lot in romance novels lately. This Spells Love was entertaining but not my favorite of the lot this year.

“About Time” + “Practical Magic” + ”Groundhog Day”=“This Spells Love.” This books was a cute little witchy story about what could happen if you took a chance on love, dreams, and goals! I will say the lead was pretty oblivious and a bit self absorbed. But the other characters were quirky and fun.

I received an egalley of this book in exchange for an honest review from NetGalley.
I gave this book 2.5 stars. It wasn’t terrible and it was a quick read, but nothing really stood out to me. I love the premise of the two main characters being connected across multiple timelines, but something about the story seemed really surface level to me. The characters weren’t well fleshed out and I didn’t feel a connection to them. This would make a great old school rom com movie, but it’s a bit shallow for me to consider a worthwhile read.

Fun, flirty and definitely magical! I love Kate Robb and found this tale of mistakes, mishaps and magic to be exactly what I needed it to be! This book is about meeting and remeeting the love of your life, and your best friend all in one person and the self growth it takes to make a mistake and learn from it! and I loved it! The characters are flawed and real, tangible and touch able and everything that this book required!

A truly captivating read! This book masterfully combines compelling characters with an engaging plot, keeping me hooked from start to finish. The writing is both elegant and accessible, making it a joy to read. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an unforgettable literary experience. Five stars!

This was such a sweet read, and I loved it! If you are a fan of a love story with whimsical magical elements then this is a perfect book! It was unique, quirky, and had me laughing along with Gemma. What if one moment, one decision, could change the entire path of your life--would you go back and change it? Gemma lives in the alternate reality of "what could have been"... but is it still what she wants? Think friends to lovers and he's been there along!

3.5 Stars
This was cute. Overall I enjoyed the story and the character growth; however, for some reason I felt like something was missing. I can’t put my finger on what it is, but it prevented me from connecting fully with the narrative. At the beginning there is so much about Gemma and Dax that doesn’t fit with what is being said/shown on page. A lot of the plot devices where a bit too easy and I wanted more.

What an unexpected delight! This was such a light and fun read with a set of endearing characters that you can't get enough of. The romance and relationships between characters were so well done and the magical realism was fun and quirky without being completely over the top. I loved the dual timelines and the friends to lovers storyline. Definitely would recommend!

This was okay. Too insta-love for my tastes but the concept itself was interesting and there wasn’t too much pining.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for the opportunity to read this!
This was such a fun and charming debut novel! It has slow-burn romance, alternate timelines, and a cozy feel.
Gemma decides after a night of drinking with her closest relatives and friends to cast a spell to forget about her most recent break up. When Gemma wakes up the next morning, she is living in an alternate timeline where her ex didn’t exist, and her best friend Dax is no longer her best friend. Gemma decides to pursue her friendship with Dax again only to realize that there is possibly more to their relationship than simply friendship.
What I really loved about this book was the character growth and development that Gemma exhibited throughout the book. Dax is literally the sweetest MMC and gives such cinnamon roll vibes. This book was emotional and filled with so much tangible chemistry between Gemma and Dax. I’m not always the biggest fan of the friends to lovers trope but Kate Robb executed this beautifully.

I almost DNFed this at 50%. I just didn't really care about the characters. I perserved, but the story and characters were just okay.

DNFed 34%
Here’s the thing, like I get the concept of this book and probably any tiger time I would’ve love it. I guess just the dynamics between Gemma and Jax grossed me out. First of all, I think it’s not a genuine friendship when one of the two sides has *very* strong feelings for the other person because they always expect that maybe one day they’ll realize they are meant to be together.
Secondly, the amount of alcohol consumption in this book is worrisome, for me.
Third, the concept of “sex date” screams purity culture to me.

This was really good for a debut novel! I always love a good alternate reality storyline and this one was done so well, It was very easy to keep up with and I really enjoyed the characters. Emma and Dax were fantastic and who doesn't love a good friends to lovers story? Dax is the perfect golden retriever MMC and I loved to watch Gemma grow so much throughout the book. These two are so relatable and that made the book so easy to read. Along with the side characters which just added more to the book as well. Loved this one for sure!

I fell in love with this book. It's such a cute and feel good storyline. It has a good moral too - - you definitely have to watch what you wish for because you don't know how it can impact others around you. The Butterfly Effect and all ....
Dax and Gemma are best friends and that's all they've ever been. But events happen and Gemma makes a wish wanting to erase her ex-boyfriend, Stewart from her life. She forgets that in erasing Stewart, it will trickle down to a lot of other things in her life - - including the day she initially met Dax.
This story is all about how Gemma tries to restore her life but along the way she finds that her old life wasn't the greatest in some ways. Yet, she still needs to bring it back because in the adjusted timeline, she's set other things into motion that may not be good for others. It all just needs a reset.
Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book. I was mesmerized by the storyline and the characters.

This Spells Love is a second chance, supernatural romance. Although I'm generally not a fan of time travel/parallel universe stories, as the scenes of the main character trying to explain their predicament always gets old to me, I really liked this one. I did find some issues with the pacing, and Gemma seemed a little illogical at times. Additionally, the transition from Gemma hard-core friendzoning Dax to being obsessed with him was a little awkward, but once the two of them started spending time together, I really liked the romance. Dax is a very kind character, and I love how sincere the romance felt!
Thank you to the publisher for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!

Absolutely loved this book! Friends to lovers is not my go-to trope but this book did it SO WELL! I will say the cover led me to believe this was a witchy book but in actuality, it really wasn't. With that said, I wasn't disappointed because the plot was absolutely perfect. 5 star read! Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!
