We have other books in the series Little People, Big Dreams (Ghandi & Stephen Hawking) and enjoyed them. So when I saw this edition on NetGalley I had to snag it.

I read this with my daughter and she loved it. She enjoyed all the pages and it kept her attention until the end.

I don’t know much about the royal family but it was fun to learn a few facts about the new King.

With thanks to the author, publishers Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books, and NetGalley for providing me with a digital ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

This is another worthy instalment in the excellent Little People Big Dreams series, which is always a favourite with my family.

The subject this time is King Charles, and the book tells of how he was thrust into the limelight at just 3 years old when his mother became Queen. It describes how after struggling with loneliness at boarding school, he then excelled at college, where he also got to explore his artistic side. While in college, he also developed a love for the outdoors and a deep appreciation of nature, and vowed to use his position to help protect these resources. The book also references the many good causes that he supports, and the charity work he has done down through the years prove the lives of young people, work that he intends to continue now that he has become King.

The mini-biography of Charles (complete with a timeline) at the end of the book is a great resource for young readers to cement the facts learned in the book, and offers advice on how to learn more about the new monarch.

It’s 5 stars from me, and I look forward to seeing what subjects are chosen for future instalments in the series.

King Charles was a great book introducing young readers to the King of England. It is non-biased and the illustrations are beautiful. The timeline in the back is helpful and there are photographs as well. Overall, I think this is a great biography for readers of all ages.

This is a good introduction to the life of King Charles just in time for the coronation. I particularly like the fact that the author emphasizes the causes Charles has championed over the years, like climate change. The illustrations are adorable and children will enjoy them.

Just in time for the coronation, here is a children’s biography of Charles. Kids will learn about the ways in which he is both like and different from them. Interestingly, Charles has had to live with a more clearly defined role than many others who are profiled in the series.

The author gently mentions things that have been difficult for Charles. When he was a child, his parents were often away. He went to a boarding school where he felt quite alone. Also noted is that Charles and Diana had little in common. However, Sanchez Vegara also acknowledges when things got better.

While some of Charles life was laid out for him, kids also learn about things that became important to him on his own. For example, he has had a long standing interest in and commitment to the natural world. Charles’s interest in caring for the planet long preceded current concerns. Charitable contributions are also acknowledged as is his desire to be a good king.

The illustrator does a wonderful job of capturing the look of Charles. He adds greatly to the book’s appeal.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group. All opinions are my own.

Another excellent addition to the series. This is going to be great for showing the kids when the coronation comes around. They may not understand the full depth of the monarchy, but this is going to be great beginning to explain about kings and queens.

The ARC of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The ‘My First Little People, Big Dreams’ series provides informative and inspirational biographies about people who left a mark on this earth, no matter what difficulties they have encountered.
These stories are very short, but that’s because they’re books for children, so it’s totally understandable.
I think they are a very smart and wonderful way to introduce little children to such important figures. This book here is about King Charles. Since he was a little boy, a little prince, he was very aware that the day he would inherit the throne of the United Kingdom would come. Before becoming King, he developed a passion for a cause: the environment. And, as the Prince of Wales, he spent all his efforts advocating for climate justice and sustainability. Now that he's King, he has promised to devote his life to his people and the cause he has always had a soft spot for

I accessed a digital review copy of this book from the publisher.
This book covered Charles from his childhood, and education, glossed over his early adult years, gave mention to the fact that he married Camilla, then focused on his charitable work in his later years and how he became king. This was a good book for this series, seeing as it is for younger children. However, some of the more difficult topics like divorce could have been given more time instead of almost being ignored. Because of the light touch on some topics, this book did not feel as complete as others in the series.

This is another great book in the Little People, Big Dreams series!
The author did a great job telling about the life of King Charles. It’s weird to call him
King because he was Prince Charles my entire life. I never knew that he was so involved in the environment. The author also handled his marriages to Diana and Camilla in a sensitive way without sugarcoating it.
As a mom and a teacher, I recommend this book! Many thanks to the author and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of the book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

An absolutely beautiful tale of a man who has been through a lot. I absolutely adored the illustrations, how bright and colorful. The uniqueness of them was also very eye catching, as though they were hand drawn.

The story left out the minor details and ensured all information contained was accurate and told in an appropriate manner for children. The real-life timeline at the end was a spectacular addition as well.

Thank you for the opportunity to read!

As a huge fan of this series I was delighted to be approved to read this book.

All Little People, Big Dreams books tell the life story of someone influential but in child friendly language. This one tells the story of possibly one of the most famous men in the whole world, the new King Charles.

This will be an excellent resource to use both at home and in school with the upcoming Coronation.

This is such a cute book explaining the life of King Charles.

The young boy, whose mum unexpectedly became our Queen. The young man who waited for the day he would be King.

The illustrations in this book are so well done, and they help to tell this story in a way that readers of all ages will enjoy.

Thank you to Netgalley for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really appreciate the direct language and highlights of King Charles' life - providing a really good picture of the new King for young kids to start from. The illustrations are fantastic. Even though these are geared for young kids, I really enjoyed this glimpse into the current monarch's areas of interest and the causes that he has championed. Another good installment in this series of books - I really enjoy the continued additions focusing on current people in our global society.

Thank you NetGalley for letting me read and review this book.

first of all, WOW that was relatively quick for an illustrated book, since its only approximately 5 month when Prince Charles became King Charles

this was my first Little People, BIG DREAMS book I've ever read and I really love the illustrations. the narrative was simple yet effective, perfect for introducing King Charles to little kids. There's also historical timeline at the end of the book to support the story. Looking forward to read another book from this series!

This is such a sweet little book! I read this book because I am a huge fan of the British royal family. As a collector of books about them I would definitely add this one to my collection. I was curious about how the story would include Diana and Camilla, and was very impressed with the way Charles's relationships with them was portrayed. I would recommend this book and I would like to thank Netgally for making it available for me to read.

I enjoyed this book very much. The book kept the facts short, explaining the life of the King of England the illustrations were succinct with the text. Yes, I think it would be an excellent book for a classroom or library this relates to current events. Since the coronation will be happening this year..I did think the book should have gone one step further explaining his first born son has now become the Prince of Wales and will one day become king and his first born son will become king. One day. A tradition that has been happening for hundreds of years. I was given an early copy to review. All opinions are my own and honest. Thanks to the following for allowing me to review early,
