There's music, mischief, and murder afoot during South Cove's Battle of the Bands during the Moonstone Beach Festival. Can Detective Greg find the culprit before they strike again? All he needs is a little luck...and Jill, of course!

I'm always entertained while reading this series. The characters, the mysteries, and the red herrings keep me enthralled as I read and try to guess whodunit.

Many thanks to Kensington Publishing/Lyrical Press and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation.

Another fabulous whodunit from a top notch cozy series.
Do yourself a favour and read from the beginning if you have not picked one this series up.
You will not be disappointed.

What a crazy case where we got to see another town business as sorta the spotlight of the story, Darla from the winery and her boyfriend Matt who was in a band that was competing in the festival that weekend. Toby, Aunt Jackie, and Sadie/Pastor Bill each had their own mini side stories which I was relieved all had good outcomes. Toby's a great character and I love the bro banter between him and Deek. Aunt Jackie's changed for the better since she married Harrold (he's such a sweetie!). Sadie and the good pastor were too adorable as well.

It didn't surprise me as to whodunit and with this perp, the arrest action took place behind the scenes which is always a refreshing change for me (especially if I just read a book with a showdown and a crazed killer). Jill and Greg are always an awesome couple, but they were growing even more as they went through a finance class together and Greg actually got Jill to use a planner, amazing right? Those two are gonna be great parents someday! Can't wait to see what happens in the next book!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book provided by Lyrical Press via NetGalley, and my opinions are my own.

Coffee, Books, and More is still drumming up business. This time with the Moonstone Beach Festival. Business may be slow but they’ll have a food truck at the festival. And of course, a murder. Jill and her store family have lots to do this weekend. I really enjoyed this book. There’s a lot of character and relationship building and it will lead to more fun in the future. It’s probably my favorite in this series.

This is the fifteenth in the Tourist Trap Mystery series by Lynn Cahoon. I was ready for a trip to South Cove. I love that Esmeralda’s trip to New Orleans also occurs in the first book of A Haunted Life Cozy Mystery.
In this episode, we have a music festival, Greg and Jill looking at financial classes, and the Preacher and Sadie’s relationship.

The death revolves around a lead singer of a band in the festival competition. In the course of this story, I could clearly identify a potential future victim, Tina, the mayor’s wife. What a piece of work.

There are plenty of twist, turns, and mis-directions to keep the reader on their toes.

I was given an advanced readers’ copy and am not required to leave a positive review.

Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Publishers for a copy of "Songs of Wine and Murder" in exchange for my honest review.

This is our 15th visit to South Cove with Jill Gardner and her coffee/bookstore - Coffee, Books and More. The story starts at a business-to-business meeting which Jill always hosts in her shop. This will be a very busy weekend for some of the shop owners as there is a band competition on the beach, a kite flying event for the children and Deek is running another of his successful author events. Jill has her food truck at the event and she spends a lot of time moving her staff around to keep both the store and the truck covered. She even hires a new part-time staff member.

As usual Jill is at the wrong place at the wrong time or rather things just happen to her even when she is minding her own business. This time Jill's friends Darla and Matt are in trouble and she has to help them - she can't resist involving herself in police business. This leads to some fun debates with her fiancé police detective Greg King.

Adding to everything else going on in her life Jill is preparing for her wedding, they're taking a couple's financial class and Jill has decided to return to university to get her MBA.

There is a lot of fun attitude from Emma - Jill's dog - who feels the world should revolve around her doggie schedule of running on the beach and eating!

This is a wonderful addition to the Tourist Trap series and I'm hoping there will be another book soon!!

Songs of Wine and Murder is book #15 in the Tourist Trap Mystery series by Lynn Cahoon.

Jill is busy with running her store and the food truck during the Moonstone Beach Festival with the Battle of the Bands. When someone is murdered, can Jill stay out of the investigation?

I love this series! The mysteries are good and keep me guessing, bit it is the characters are what keep me coming back to this series. I liked seeing Jill and Greg taking finance classes before marriage. You don’t usually see that in books. The support the friends and family have for each other is wonderful and I really liked how the book wrapped up. I look forward to the next book!

Thank you to the author, Kensington Books, and NetGalley for the Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Jill Gardner is back in Lynn Cahoon’s newest Tourist Trap mystery, Songs of Wine and Murder. A solid entry in this series, Jill, though trying to honor her fiancé Greg’s wishes for her to leave the investigating to the professionals, frequently finds herself picking up clues, whether by witnessing a conversation or finding physical clues in South Cove’s most recent murder, which is connected to its latest festival, a rock band competition that awards the winning band with a recording contract. Coincidentally the lead singer of one band is murdered the night before the competition begins and is almost magically replaced by the lead singer of another competing group. Jill’s business, Coffee, Books and More has a food truck at the venue which lands Jill smack in the middle of the ensuing drama. This is an enjoyable small town cozy complete with recurring characters. I am a fan of this series and truly appreciate how each book progresses relationships, particularly Jill and Greg, as they work hard during their engagement to lay a solid foundation for their upcoming marriage. This is especially difficult during the murder investigation because finding any time together is very difficult. For the most part, the supporting characters add to the story.  I especially like Deek, who is a rock for Jill.  I could do without the mayor’s wife Tina, who is more a distraction than a benefit to the book. And why does Lille hate Jill so much?
This is a quiet, low key mystery, which works for me.  It is more character driven. I like that Jill did not put herself in unnecessary danger.
Lynn Cahoon has crafted an entertaining, easy read and I give it four stars.
Thanks, NetGalley, for an advanced coo6 of this book.  I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions expressed are my own.

It's festival season again and this time it's the battle of the bands, but someone has taken the battle to a deadly level! Once again Jill finds herself pulled into the investigation by happenstance and Greg is still none too happy about it! Greg needs to find the killer fast before someone decides to take out Jill for being in the wrong place at the right time one too many times! I love these characters so very much! Visiting South Cove is really like visiting a favorite vacation spot and all your vacation friends! I really wish this were a real place as I would definitely be a regular at Coffee, Books & More! The author does such a fantastic job of weaving the characters personal lives throughout the mystery and wrapping a variety of plots throughout so you can count on getting your money's worth with each read! I absolutely can't wait to see what happens during my next visit to South Cove!

This is another great mystery by Lynn Cahoon. It is easy to recommend to a wide variety of readers. This a book that stands alone, but is best red in order of publication.

What fun to be back in South Cove with Jill Gardner and all the characters I have come to love. Darla has sold the town on a beachy battle of the bands festival, but all does not go as smoothly as planned. In large part due to the Mayor's spiteful wife, Tina, and her surly nephew. As the mystery opens, a vital person in one of the bands is killed---murdered? Detective Greg King asks Jill to refrain from involving herself in the fray. As her fiancé, he would like her to concentrate on the upcoming couples finance classes at the church. This mystery is not as front and center as the relationship between Jill and Greg. I found the low key rhythm of this book refreshing -- the characters, and their various difficulties, are real to me. I enjoy learning more of their backgrounds---not to take away from the mystery, which I also enjoyed. This 15th addition to the series fits right in with the rest. Don't miss Songs of Wine and Murder by Lynn Cahoon.

A beach festival, with music and food sounds fun until a body is found. Another good cozy murder mystery by a great author. Would recommend, especially for an easy summer read.

This is a fun cozy mystery taking place on the California shoreline in the small town of South Cove. The Business to Business meeting is finalizing plans for the Moonstone Beach Festival (where there will be a band competition) on the upcoming weekend. Esmerelda the psychic who works in the police station is going on a vacation. Jill, Darla, Amy and Esmerelda go for a girls night out before Esmerelda leaves. They meet Jules, who is a drummer for the Atlantis Survivors, the band in which Darla's significant other, Matt, plays. Then, before the competition begins, the singer in Matt's band is found in Jules' truck, dead with a guitar string around his neck.

Hans, the Mayor's son is in another band which is competing, and Tina, the Mayor's wife is constantly complaining to Jill, Greg (the police chief and Jill's fiance), and others that he isn't getting fair treatment. The Atlantis Survivors have hired the singer away from the band in which Hans plays. Tina is angry about that and also claims that Matt's band is getting better times to play as well. However, Greg, Jill's fiance is very busy trying to solve a murder while Jill is running back and forth to the beach where her food truck is and her store where she sells books. She still has a little time to try to solve the crime! Fortunately, Esmerelda has a feeling that Greg needs her help and arrives home a day early to organize the police station so the crime can be solved and Gregg and Jill can spend more time together.

I thank Netgalley and Kensington Books for providing an ARC. The opinions are my own.

A beach festival hits South Cove and the locals are busy with the crowds and opportunities it brings. Jill is no exception in that she is running between her brick and mortar and her coffee truck. With a local band in the running to win a recording contract, and the mayor’s nephew in another band, people are pumped.

When the lead singer in the local band is murdered and the lead singer from another band defects to take his place, the question is who benefits most from the man’s death? Jill can’t help but hear the things people say and she finds herself in yet another case. Will this be her final chapter, or will she help her fiancé Greg find whodunit and make it the killer’s swan song?

There is nothing more pleasurable than grabbing a cup of coffee, a sweet treat, and one of Cahoon’s books! I have loved everything this woman has written and can’t get enough of her cozies. She has several series, so be sure to start with this one, if you have never experienced her writing, and move on to the others. You won’t be disappointed.

Another delightful visit to South Cove. All the familiar characters along with a music festival providing additional individuals. Great catching up with the lives of the protagonist, her significant other. employees, and friends. Her unfriendly fellow townspeople add some fun, too. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

I've often wondered while reading this series, whether people realize what they are getting into when they visit a festival in South Cove. Either way, this book seemed more like it was focused on filling out some plot holes and setting things up for the next ones rather than as a standalone book. The ending was a bit of a letdown, I was actually a little surprised when I got to the end of the book.

I received a copy of this book for free, in exchange for a fair review.

Songs of Wine and Murder is the fifteen cozy mystery in the A Tourist Trap Mystery series. When a Battle of the Bands comes to a South Cove festival, the town is full of tourists and visitors. A murderer strikes and Jill Gardner, local coffee and book shop owner, finds herself in the middle of the investigation.

This is one of my favorite cozy mystery series and I’m always excited to be pulled back into the South Cove world. The main characters are always entertaining and the town full of festivals is fun. I enjoyed this newest mystery, but sometimes Jill got to me in this book. She was a little too blunt and straight forward at times, but if I remember correctly her character has been trending this way anyway so it wasn’t a huge shock, just not the way I wish she was going. Overall this was an enjoyable read and the mystery was fun. I really enjoyed the Battle of the Bands idea and enjoyed seeing how the bookshop and food truck could be a part of it. The ending wrapped up a little too quickly for me, but I liked the resolution and look forward to seeing what comes next!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book!

Songs of Wine and Murder by Lynn Cahoon takes readers back to South Cove for the Moonstone Beach Festival. The battle of the bands is going to draw a number of tourists to the small beach community. Jill and her team at Coffee, Books, and More are going to be run off their feet between the shop and their food truck. The weekend hits a sour note when a musician in a popular local band gets murdered. Songs of Wine and Murder is the fifteenth A Tourist Trap Mystery. While the story could be read as a standalone, you would be missing pertinent background information regarding the characters. Also, Jill’s name is not mentioned in the beginning. Songs of Wine and Murder was one note. The story has Jill going about her day-to-day activities (getting up, having breakfast, letting Emma out, running on the beach, working the morning shift at the shop, reading ARCs, etc.). Jill and Greg are going to a financial class in preparation for their marriage. Jill is hesitant to mention her Miss Emily fund to Greg. The mystery has an unpleasant musician being murdered. It was obvious who would die from the beginning. The killer can easily be identified. Jill did little to no investigating. Greg does not like Jill probing into the crimes (I am liking Greg less and less). She occasionally comes across information that she passes along, and Greg reminds her that it is his job to catch the bad guys. Greg also does not like her to run on the beach with Emma, her furbaby, when there is a killer on the loose. I have stuck with the series because I hoped that Greg would evolve and understand that Jill is curious, smart, and careful. The mystery is quickly and neatly wrapped up at the end. We get to catch up with all the regular characters. Personal relationships are at the forefront of this story. Jill is worried about Aunt Jackie, Greg is busy with the murder, so he is spending less time with Jill, drama between pastor and his girlfriend, financial classes, and adding a new staff member to Coffee, Books, and More. I found the mayor’s wife, Tina, to be a pain in the backside. She makes people’s lives miserable when she does not get her way. Tina likes to use her husband’s position to get revenge. I found Tina to be an immature and petty woman. I would love to see Tina become a victim in a future book. I can relate to Jill’s love of reading and her enjoyment of reading ARCs (advanced reader copies). Fans of A Tourist Trap Mysteries are going to enjoy Songs of Wine and Murder. Songs of Wine and Murder is a beachy cozy mystery with a battle of the bands, copious quantities of coffee, a kite contest, a murdered rocker, a fiscal class, a vindictive Tina, and a beautiful beach.

Another fun addition to this long running cozy mystery series. There’s another festival in town this one a battle of the bands, and of course there’s a murder. Filled with old characters and a few new ones this delightful series about bookseller Jill and fiancé chief of police, Greg..

I have read this series from the beginning and enjoy Jill and her crew. I felt let down by this book. It seemed as if the main plot was about Jill's envolvement with the music festival and her everyday life. The mystery was almost a side story. There were some points that I had questioned. Why was the band still in town a week after the festival ended? This is a small town that had only one restaurant. Jill went around and accused everyone of being the murderer so of course at some point she had to be right. But the ending had me wondering where was the rest of it. It was an afterthought. It was a bit of a letdown.
