I loved every single story in this anthology! End of the world .. what do you do when you’re bunkering with that one person! All the feels and all the Steam!

The humor in this anthology is just brilliant and so well placed. Quite perfectly sitting with the heavy emotional and the romantic drama.

Rating: 3.5/5

A. Love this concept
B. Got to read some short stories by love authors + introduced to some new ones
C. Great on audio

This was a fun set of short stories set around an apocalyptic event.

Some of these were really good and others were not my favorite. They all followed the same basic formula of being trapped together, having some past history and then steam. This could get repetitive for people.

Denise Williams was definitely the stand out story for me!

From the moment I started reading the very first story in this book, I knew I was going to love it. I loved how they’re touching, heartbreaking but also heartwarming tales that I couldn’t seem to put them down.

A really fun anthology of romance short stories with varying levels of spice written by some of my fav BIPOC authors! Standouts for me included stories by Farah Heron, Denise Williams and Sarah Smith. This was good on audio with a full cast of great narrators too. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

I picked up Even If the Sky is Falling, a collection of steamy short stories centered around an apocalyptic event, because I love a good disaster story, and have enjoyed several other anthologies similar to this, such as the YA genre’s Whiteout and Blackout.

I am not much of an erotica reader and did not realize that sex played a central role in these stories. If I had, I might have thought twice before selecting it. With that being said, the erotica wouldn’t be as problematic for me if the stories were better developed, but it quickly became apparent while reading that every single one of these stories was following the same formula. A man and woman (in a singular case, woman and woman) are thrown together amidst the impending end of the world, encounter insta-love, and have sex. Every single story was written the same way - chat each other up and then jump each other’s bones.

I quickly became bored filing through the same scenario time and time again; however, if you like your books served up on the lighter, fluffier side, or are looking for an escape, you may very well enjoy this collection.

3.5 out of 5 stars.

Bunker Buddies and Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better are my favorite stories but the whole book is solid.

This anthology has a great premise, but the stories felt already done. Most of the time I had a hard time keeping my attention to the short stories even though I like most of these authors.

This was fun!

Anthologies can be hard: short stories that are all good? Rare. This anthology isn't perfect but I still enjoyed reading it. I went into this having forgotten what it was about and that is not YA, as much as the cover may have you thinking that it is. It is spicy and I loved it.

It would be great to see another anthology like this but with stronger stories, and more of them.

I'm genuinely upset that I couldn't get into this one. These are some of my favorite romance authors in one book, and it was really difficult for me to get invested in each story. Maybe if each were full length I would vibe more?

This book is spicey! I was hoping it would have just a little more substance to it, but there's nothing wrong with it just being a fun read, and that's what it is. I love the title, and it does make you think about what you would do if the world was ending.

Overall, I really liked this collection of novellas! These stories are all set in the same day in which the world mistakenly thinks an asteroid is heading to earth to possibly destroy life as we know it.

ALL THE STARS by Taj McCoy
Rated: ★★★
Steam Level: PG-13 / Only 1 descriptive sex scene.
Review: This was a 2nd Chance Romance which was a pretty slow start to the book. I know it had to set up the premise, but it felt really heavy on the technical scene-setting and light on romance. The author used the term "barefoot and pregnant" which was a big OOF for me.

KEEP CALM & CURRY ON by Farah Heron
Rated: ★★★★
Steam Level: PG-13 / Only 1 descriptive sex scene.
Review: I like this author and I liked this novella. It included a heroine with anxiety and a hero reads romance books!

MY LUCKY STARS by Lane Clarke
Rated: DNF/★
Steam Level: unknown.
Review: I love a queer romance (this one was F/F), but I didn't finish this novella. The leads both read as really immature and I didn't connect with this author's writing style.

BUNKER BUDDIES by Charish Reid
Rated: ★★★
Steam Level: PG-13 / Only 1 descriptive sex scene.
Review: This was a quick insta-love between a bookshop owner and his repeat customer. I liked the quirky heroine, but the Role Play sex scene was just a little cheesy for me.

INTERLUDE by Sarah Smith
Rated: ★★★★
Steam Level: R / 2 descriptive sex scenes.
Review: I liked this novella. This romance felt unrushed, even though it was a novella in a quick time-frame. I loved that the leads pets played a part in this love story between a contractor and apartment owner and Sarah Smith always makes me crave Filipino food with her writing!

ANYTHING YOU CAN DO I CAN DO BETTER by Denise Williams
Rated: ★★★★★
Steam Level: R / 2-3 descriptive sex scenes.
Review: This was my favorite story of the bunch! A badass woman in STEM reunites with her college academic rival and the acting out of sex fantasies is paired with a wonderful emotional connection, then and now.

Overall, this was a really good collection with a fun premise and lots of heat!

This multi-author story gives you the best of all our favourite authors in one book. All the romances steam from a significant event in which everyone believes the world will end via a meteor shower for some time.

Now I don't say the characters interlock - the event is the same for each person, but there is no relationship between each story. They are separate other than the event.

That is significant to me because although I enjoyed most of the stories, I was looking for a link between each other than the main event, which I did not find.

However, each story was different and beautiful in its own right. And let me not forget sexy - the sex scene was out of this world for each story I loved - you could also see each author in the stories and how they played out, which was fantastic.
All in all a great collection from our favs

Even If the Sky is Falling is a terrific romance anthology by six top romance authors who are great voices in the genre. The premise, of couples trying to survive the end of the world, was so engaging. I appreciated the consistent theme, which played throughout each of the stories. This aspect of the stories kept me wanting to read more. The couples in each romance had great chemistry. The sex scenes were steamy and romantic. The stories ranged from enemies to lovers, second chance romance, and crushes requited. The short stories delivered memorable happy endings that will keep me thinking of the characters for a long time.
Thank you to NetGalley, the authors, and the publisher for the opportunity to read this anthology in exchange for an honest review.

I will be reviewing this book story by story. There may be some spoilers here and there. So I just wanted to give you a heads up before you start reading what I have to say. I will aim to put a spoiler warning ahead of time incase you want to read this book.

All The Stars By Taj McCoy

(SPOILERS) I wasn't a huge fan of this story as much. It took me until the two lovers were reconnecting to get into the story. I wasn't really invested. Also a bit of a spoiler so don't read unless you don't care. The guy broke up with the chick and then never said why but he still loved her?!?!?!?! I'm sorry what. Then them being in this situation he tells her that he never stopped loving her. I don't know what that is. I don't know, it seemed dumb. I think they were broke up for a year. Made no sense to me.

Keep Calm and Curry On By Farah Heron

I'm enjoying this one more. I think because food is involved. Also love that the main character's crush also owns a food truck and they're trying to compete for sales. Ah so this is the first story in the book that I would love a full
book out of. These two characters have history with each other. I would love to read their before and current situation. Plus learn more about their fathers complicated pasts. I would enjoy that a lot. This ended up being my favorite story.

My Lucky Stars By Lane Clarke

An enemies to somewhat lovers story. I wasn't super invested in this one either. This one is with two girls. I like that it's different. I just wasn't a fan of their banter. I didn't really sense sparks. Maybe it's just me though.

Bunker Buddies By Charis Reid

Ehhh I honestly pushed through this one. I read most of the story up until the bunker. I kind of skimmed the rest. I didn't write much for this one. One of the characters owns a bookstore so that is cool at least.

Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better By Denise Willams

I ended up skipping this story. I tried reading it again and I just couldn't do it. I do feel bad because I read majority of the stories here. I did skim through another one as well because I wanted to be finished. I do plan to check out books by this author and the other authors as well. I was just at that moment where I wanted to be done. :(

Epilogue By Taj McCoy

I'm pretty sure this was in the book earlier?? I read this part and I'm pretty sure it was at the end of Taj's story. I could be wrong though. It was a nice ending to her story.

*Thank you to the publisher for giving me a free copy in exchange for my honest opinion.*

Overall I didn't end up enjoying this book as much. I think a lot of these were just too short. Also, some of them just couldn't hold my interest. My favorite hands down is Keep Calm and Curry On By Farah Heron. If Farah Heron ends up turning it into a full book, I will be there. I do also have to say this book is very spicy. Each story had spice to it. I wasn't excepting that. I really thought this was a young adult book. It shocked me the first story I read. I do have to say I was starting to get bored because every story was repetitive. The author would build up the story and then they'd get a world is ending text. They either go hide or stay in there space cause it's safe. They hook up. After a bit they get the text it's okay to come out. I just wanted a little more variety. I think I need to try reading a full on book from these authors to see if I like their writing. I'm sad about this one.

This was so.much.fun. I’ll admit that at first I was a bit skeptical about this anthology because the first story wasn’t my fave but I really did enjoy reading this. I love that each story was written by a black author and the last story by Denise Williams was my absolute favorite and wish I had more time with Hale and Piper. Overall I really liked this & think it’s a perfect, fun, and quick summertime read!

This was my first anthology book and I loved it! 6 different stories were interconnected by six authors, like Denise Williams, Farah Heron, and Taj McCoy. I could see this story being made into a movie like Valentine's day, and I'd love it because of all of the black representation. I love the idea behind this book and would love to see more like it!

n international warning siren that indicates a meteor shower goes off by accident and it may be the end of life as they know it, six couples - friends, execs, crushes and rivals - must take shelter. Inhibitions are abandoned, confessions are made, and love blossoms - but what happens when the world doesn't end?

This is a collection of romantic short stories by various authors and wow, are they enjoyable! I'm typically not a fan of short stories, but these were perfect. They were short, sweet and SPICY - reading them felt like eating popcorn, once I started reading them, I couldn't stop. Forced proximity, second chance romance and one bed were just a few of the tropes in these stories. The characters were also diverse; different backgrounds, professions and personalities which was great to read.

Thank you to HTP Books for the e-galley!
