I almost DNF this one. I found the insta-love didn't work. The characters felt a bit boring. There were a lot of characters from previous books and it added some confusion to this story.

Ella Quinn is a fantastic historical mystery author. She writes great characters and puts them into fun situations. This book was a delight and I loved it from start to finish.

Lady Madeline Vivers designs a list of qualities she wants in a husband along with her two sisters. Madeline is practical and wants a house in the country long with children and a dog. It's her mother who wants her to marry a peer; however, she only has eyes for Harry Stern, a barrister turned MP..

Harry wants a wife who will help him in his career - not one who is spoilt and part of the ton. His instant attraction to Madeline isn't going to reach his goal, but she impresses him with her kindness and how she works to help people less fortunate.

This book started off well, but I hadn't read any of the series before and I couldn't tell most of Madeline's relatives apart. As a result, the constant mentioning of her family felt too much like a plot device since the plot itself was a a bit thin.

I received this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

My biggest complain about this book is that they author wrote many of the previous couples here and if you haven't read them you would be like why is that important? that being said i loved the story Madeline and Harry are just so cute to be true.

I really enjoy this author, however this book didn’t do it for me. I’m sure other will really enjoy is historical romance. Its sweet and the characters were fun! There’s a big family of people and dogs. I do hope others enjoy this one in the series!

This book seems like a fairly short plot got crazy stretched out. There weren't really a whole lot of plot points other than Madeline finding her match, but having a struggle due to her mother wanting her to marry with a certain status. Of course Harry had good lineage, but was just a new member of the house of commons.

Yes this is a continuation, but it was just too slow for me. I think that the previous book and this one could have been put in one book, with both romances developing. Eleanor was mentioning a bunch in this book, why not put it all together since it had the same events basically.

I hope the next book picks up the pace!

Thank you to Kensington and Netgalley for providing me a copy of this ARC for my honest review.

I really struggled with this book. I think it comes down to the writing style mostly? I was just not engaged and kept leaving the book to read another. The plot was cute, and the MCs were sweet. But I just struggled to want to finish it. Also, there are a LOT of family members that get really confusing. Overall it was nice but not for me.

I read until 30%, DNF. There were too many characters from previous novels in the original series, and most played important roles here, completely confusing me.. It was like a character explosion. Everyone was there, and they all had children; who also had important roles.
That got in the way of the story of Madeline and Harry; leaving virtually no plot. I also had an issue with the couple themselves. Maybe it was the writing style, but I felt neither had much of a personality, nor showed any real emotions. I couldn't feel any connection to the couple, and invest in their story. I'm sure the book would have been more of a fun read if I knew who the other characters were.
I did enjoy how everything was described. It was very visually appealing. I could definitely picture the setting, and it brought the time period to life.
This would have been an easier read had a family tree been included. This is definitely not a stand-alone novel.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Lady Madeline Vivers' mother demands that the gentleman she marries be a peer or an heir to a peer. Mr. Harry Stern is a barrister in Bristol and the newest member of Parliament for Bittleborough. He may not be the man her mother wants her to marry, but Madeline's heart knows otherwise. Harry is determined that Madeline will be his wife, but he's got competition and her mother to convince. With the help of friends and family he may succeed in checking off Madeline's list and marry the woman he loves. Never a dull moment with this family! Adults, children and dogs! I was puzzled why Madeline's mother didn't have a more physical presence.(?) Mild open bedroom door.

WONDERFUL!!! The Husband List by Ella Quinn is book 2 inThe Worthington Brides series and I thought this book was just wonderful. Though in a series this book can be read as a stand alone. What I loved about this book is exactly what the title describes that the sister had a list of what they expected from their future husbands and this was one of the sweetest stories I have ever read. Ella has a talent for telling a story and being original. I found this book to be well written, wonderful characters, vivid descriptions, had the real feel of the regency era and a delight to read. This story has a mother who wants her daughter to marry a title, a lady that wants to help others, a PM who does not have a title but got voted in, close families, good friends who give good advise, planning a sister’s wedding, a wonderful dancer and conversationist, trying to keep an open mind, helping an orphan, helping a maid that just got discharged, helping a little girl that is trying to be stolen from the streets and falling in love. I am recommending you read this book.

***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.

Jumping into this sprawling family series here puts the reader at a great disadvantage. Keeping the various siblings and cousins and in-laws and children straight was a full time job, and I quickly gave up trying. The actual leads are sweet together, and if the basic plot is juvenile, at least they are not. A pleasant time pass novel.

My thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Books, Zebra for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

this wasn't for me, there was no conflict at all and while I love all. the folks in this series, I don't need kidnapping and drama but there was literally no stakes.

The Husband List is the second book in The Worthington Brides series. I have not read the prior book, but it might have been a good idea since this is an extremely large family with brothers. sisters, cousins and more. It was a little distracting trying to keep them all straight. Maybe include a family tree layout before the book actually begins to refer to as a new relative appears in the story.

The primary characters are Madeline and Harry with each looking for a spouse that fits their list each have made in looking for a spouse. Lady Madeline Vivers is content to be a normal bride but still wanting to be able to help others, although she is not sure how to achieve that.

Harry Stern is not the man to help her reach them according to Madeline's mother. A title is the most important goal. She wants to follow her mother's wishes, but each titled man does not come close to Harry,

Harry Sterns is ambitious and determined to make his mark in Parliament by helping others that do not benefit from the existing laws. Harry meets Madeline and is sure she is the one. The more time he spends with her he becomes convinced that Madeline is just the helpmate he needs.

Madeline's mother is working behind the scenes to advance her daughter by marrying a man with a title. But Madeline, try as she might just doesn't feel the same way. It was fun to see her, and Harry try to outmaneuver her mother to avoid the men seeking to spend more time with her. I really liked this story; it was an entertaining plot without the typical bad guy trying to cause trouble.

The Husband List by Ella Quinn is book Two in The Worthington Brides Series. This is the story of Madeline Vivers and Harry Stern. This is a interconnecting series so this book does run along side of the previous book: The Marriage List: An Opposites Attract. But with that said, I did think you could make it a standalone book if you wish to do so. Madeline has a list that they have created to help them find husbands on their Season. Harry has an up and coming profession and knows he needs to find a wife. But Harry is not a man of title that most ladies want. But when he meets Madeline she captivates him. This starts their story.

I absolutely loved this book, but do feel that for maximum enjoyment, it should be read after the Worthingtons series and the first book in this spin off series. The plot centres around a large interconnected family, who have been introduced gradually through previous books. Both Harry and Madeline are genuinely likeable characters and in Harry we have that rare thing - a regency era man who is both assertive yet considerate. I’ve read many other regency romances where the man is either an arrogant rake or a bit of a wimp. This author is very talented in getting the balance, between the two extremes, exactly right! I’m a huge fan of the Worthington series and am also loving this new series - I hope there will be many more books to come!

Lady Madeline Vivers and her two sisters, Alice and Eleanor have come up with a list of acceptable traits any husband the would consider marrying must have. Madeline meets Harry Stern the older brother of Dotty, who is married to her cousin, Dominic the Marquis of Merton. Harry is in town after being elected to the House of Commons and also to find a wife. Harry is attracted to Madeline and makes plans to attend her on the daily rides she and her cousin take to further their relationship. While Harry meets most of the requirements on her list, she fears her mother will not accept a marriage between them as he does not have a title. Madeline has to decide whether to accept a duke who her mother and the duke's mother approve of or if she will go with whom her heart is telling her is the perfect mate for her. I was happy to read more of the Worthington saga and glad to see Madeline and Eleanor get their HEAs.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving a response.

A love story that is full of family. There are characters that were in the first book of the series. Harry is falling for Madeline, but Madeline's mother has bigger aspirations for her. A story dealing with a lot of Madeline's family and their relationships with each other.
I received an ARC from the publisher through NetGalley and am leaving a review by my own accord.

The Husband List by Ella Quinn is the latest book in her Worthington series, this time the Worthington Brides. This time is Lady Madeline Vivers’ turn to find love and happiness as she determines if her suitor meets the list of husband requirements she set with her sisters. Enter one Harry Stern who on paper meets her requirements except that he isn’t a peer and that any romantic relationship that they would have would disappoint Madeline’s mother. Ella Quinn didn’t disappoint. I especially enjoy the relationships between the Worhtingtons and their extend family/friends. And who can resist precocious kids and Great Danes.

Harry, a cousin by marriage, is newly arrived to town as an elected Member of Parliament. As the story unfolds, we watch as Madeline runs a series of suitors to the test with truly one clear winner in Harry. As she navigates through her first season there is lots of help along the way from family and dogs. Madeline also comes into her own as she decides what she wants in terms of charitable and political efforts all supported by Harry as they collaborate on a number of items.

It was a story of two people coming together, falling in love over Gunther’s ices and embarking on a new life even over the objections of Madeline’s mother. What did I like about the story? I like how Madeline and Harry genuinely enjoyed the company of each other, the attraction that they felt and the friendship that they built. I loved the conversations, especially when the children were included. I’ve enjoyed this series and this book fits in nicely. It was a quick read for me because I’m looking forward to the next book. If you like connected books and characters that are involved in the primary Hero and heroine’s story, then this is a series for you. And frankly if you just want an enjoyable read, The Husband List is highly recommended.

Madeline and her sisters have a list of desirable traits for a husband. The most important to Madeline is love. Her mother does not agree. She wants her daughters to marry rank and wealth. Mr. Harry Stern is a successful solicitor and a recently elected MP. Madeline thinks he is just right for her. Mother disagrees. Will Madeline decide to please her mother, or will she choose the man she has come to love? The Worthingtons are a large interesting family, and their romances are engaging and entertaining. Now it is Madeline’s turn. She and Harry are indeed perfect for each other. They are kind, caring, loving people. This is a charming story with wonderful characters, a large happy family dynamic, a bit of angst, and a lovely romance. Very good story!
