Gordo and Mark’s love story is raw, complex, long but so worth it. I loved getting back into this series and finally reading their story since it was such an interesting and anticipated one. I love T.J. Klune’s writing, his story telling is one of a kind.

Gordo was betrayed by his pack and he left. Many years later, he returns. It is hard for him to forget the history and the love and the anger….

I love how the relationships work in this book. The characters are terrific and cares for each other. Lots of love, intense emotions and differences to work through. A terrific book to read.

Thanks to the publish for the arc.

This series continues to bring me lots of joy. I won't give too much away, as this is the second book in the series, but if you liked the first book you're most likely going to love this. I will warn you, though, that this installment made me so sad :( I will forgive you this time, Klune, because you continue to break my heart in the best way and I can't wait for more!

Ravensong by TJ Klune is a gripping and emotionally intense story about love, loyalty, betrayal, and finding joy amidst pain. The novel is a part of The Green Creek series, with Gordo Livingstone's story as the focus. Gordo is a witch who was left behind by his pack, and he sought solace in the garage of his mountain town. However, when the wolves return, Gordo finds himself once again a part of the Bennett pack, who he was previously betrayed by.

The author has done an excellent job of weaving a story that is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. The book is written in a way that allows readers to connect with Gordo's character, feel his pain and struggles, and root for him as he faces new challenges. The romance between Gordo and Mark is intense and beautifully written, with the bond between them driving the story forward.

The novel is well-paced and contains well-developed characters with depth and complexity. The author has created a world that is richly detailed and filled with magic, intrigue, and danger. The story is also filled with unexpected twists and turns, keeping readers on the edge of their seats.

Overall, Ravensong is a beautifully written story that explores the complexities of love, family, and loyalty. The novel is an emotional rollercoaster, with heart-wrenching moments balanced by moments of joy and triumph. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a well-written and emotionally charged story.

I didn't realize this was part of a series, so I need to go back and read the first book in the series. I'm sure I'll love it when I get to it though.

Dirt and leaves and rain.

This series continues to be epic and awesome. And, in this case, really sad...

I mean. I knew going in that it would be sad. We know from book one that Mark and Gordo belong but shit happened and they were separated. And then more shit happens and just when they are finally in the same place again, they get separated. Again! And then more shit happens... Let's just say it's the slowest of slow burns until those two finally get together again and damn it, it HURT. I haven't cried this heard since. Ever? I can't recall any other book where I started crying in chapter one and then just sobbed my way through the entire story. Seriously, these two take a long time to be happy again...

But, somehow, the evil genius made it worth all the tears and "but why can't they just be happy"s. I don't know how. Magic? Must be. For some bizarre reason, I can't wait to have my heart broken all over again by the next book. So. Yay!

I received an eARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Somehow even better than the first book. As magnificent as the formation of the found family was in the first book, in this one the established found family being there for each other and working through things together as an unwavering, tight-knit group was spectacular.

I do love an asshole main character hiding a heart of gold. Gordo is wonderful and kickass and stubborn and stupid and I love him so much. The book encompassed Gordo's childhood all the way to after the events from Wolfsong, providing the information about how everything you wondered about in Wolfsong came about. The author balanced so well the forces breaking Gordo and Mark apart and bringing them back together again, creating a delicious tension in which the reader understood where both characters were coming from and wondered if and how they would ever reconcile.

As with the first book, Ravensong progressed with a lyrical intensity that sank its talons into me and pulled me in. The reader experienced the same emotions as the characters and worked through them together. Klune paced everything perfectly and included just the exact right details to transport the reader into Gordo's mindset. Klune used repetition of ideas and thoughts to maximum effect from page one. I lost count of how many times my heart soared and ached, how many times I teared up. The story was both deeply serious and ridiculously funny.

It took epic and awesome to new levels. This book is a little darker from the beginning, a little more action-heavy. The intensity of the action throughout and my investment in the stakes involved had my heart thudding. It's not the kind of series where characters get through unscathed, and I literally held my breath in parts as I continued reading to see who would survive and in what condition.

I can't even begin to describe how organically the plot, relationships, and worldbuilding flowed and grew, how well the author set up the main and side plot points for the following books. I was hooked into the next book before I even finished this one. If you heard an unholy screeching around 4:30pm ET on 3/17/23, it was me putting a couple pieces together near the end of the book. I couldn't put it down and am dying to read the next one.

I love TJ Klune's books. He writes so beautifully and I just get completely lost in his stories and I read them in one sitting because they are so good. This book was no exception I simply adored this book and hearing about Gordos life.

Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read this eARC.

This was such a good story! T.J. Klune knows how to break hearts with his words and how to make it better again. I went through so many emotions in this story and it has everything I love in regards to dynamics between the pack, the banter, the characters themselves, and the plot. It's a book that stays in your head.

I really enjoyed getting to know Gorgo and going on this journey with the characters. TJ Klune has a great writing style and it worked well in the story. I was invested in what was going on and thought it worked well in the genre. The characters felt like real people and were written well with the story. I'm glad I got to read this and look forward to more.

"Some nights I dreamed of the moon and blood and Mark dragging his broken body toward me. Other nights I dreamed of kissing him on a warm summer afternoon. “You say his name, sometimes,” Carter told me once. “Who?” “Mark.” “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

'Ravensong' is the excellent sequel to 'Wolfsong' by TJ Klune.

Following up a blockbuster like 'Wolfsong' was a heavy task but Klune did it perfectly. Gordo Livingstone was such an enigma in the first book, clearly haunted by the past and the intensely complicated relationships with the Bennett Pack. After the events of 'Wolfsong' we're left with so many questions that it seems impossible to answer all of them. Gordo's story is told in pieces. Alternating between the past and present, so much of Gordo's life is marked by suffering, betrayal and placing duty above all else. Through all that, is there room for second chances? Is it worth it to work for? When does love, both familial and romantic, stop being something you have to sacrifice for?

Gordo and Mark's love story is one of my favorites. I love fated mates but especially when it goes wrong, when the "fate" part isn't enough. You still have to choose each other. These are two grown men who have been through a lot separately and together and maybe it's not worth it after everything? But maybe it is.

I cannot recommend the Green Creek series enough!

Ravensong by TJ Klune had a lot to live up to after the heartbreaking story of Wolfsong. Naturally, knowing TJ's writing, it did just that and more.

Ravensong is a story about Gordo Livingstone, the witch of the Bennet pack. We dive deep into his past as a young witch, his first encounter with the Bennet pack, his growing love for Mark, and the eventual betrayal that came with that. Nevertheless, with the arrival of Ox, everything changes. So does Gordo's relationship with Mark, even if the wounds are still fresh.

This was great. Amazing. Wonderful. Heartwrenching. Hopeful. I-Want-To-Murder-Someone-If-Gordo-Does-Not-Get-His-Happily-Ever-After because he deserves it so. But most of all, my heart warms at the diversity in this series. The character development, the friendship, the love, family, friends, mates, It's just- It's everything.

The characters are diverse, they have recognizable voices, diverse voices, banter I would kill for, etc. The series focuses entirely on characters, so if you're not into a plain, foresty, non-explored world, please stay for the characters.

A big thank you to Netgalley and Tor Publishing Group for gifting me the re-published version of Ravensong by TJ Klune in return for an honest review.

This book broke my heart and put it back together.

Gordo is the son of the Bennett Pack witch and is raised near the pack to the point where he was held down for magic to be tattooed directly onto his skin as a child. After Gordo’s father goes off the rails, he’s basically abandoned while the pack moves on without him. His mate, Mark, leaves with the rest of the pack and finds Gordo is not the same when he comes back.

Years go by and the simmering resentment Gordo has never really goes away. All of a sudden Mark and the pack are back and he’s tasked with helping the pack that turned their backs on him when he was vulnerable. It is not a seamless process to get back on the same page especially when he leaves with Joe for a few years tracking the big bad in book 1. He never truly resolved things with Mark and my god, my heart for these two.

Then a face from the past shows up and puts everyone and the city of Green Creek in danger. I listened to this book and when I say my heart was pumping, I’m not lying. This scene was horrifying and excellent.

This book sets up the remainder of the series and man, I just can’t recommend the whole thing enough. The highs are high and the lows freaking hurt.

Thank you to Tor and Netgalley for a copy of the updated copy in exchange for an honest review. My opinions are my own.
