The cover of this book is what initially peaked my interest and I’m so glad I received an ARC copy! As someone who primarily reads thrillers, it’s hard to find one that doesn’t follow the same, repetitive formula. This book is the opposite. It was original and incredibly interesting. I didn’t predict what was going to happen and I just wanted to keep reading. Pick this up if you’re a fan of thrillers. You won’t be disappointed

Thank you NetGalley, Bookotoure and Casey Kelleher for letting me read “The Babysitter’s Secret” in exchange for an honest review.

The title of this book drew me in instantly. I absolutely love domestic thrillers, particularly if babysitters or housemaids are involved in some way.

I really enjoyed this thriller, I finished it in two days as I was absolutely absorbed in Sasha’s mind!
I had, however, trouble connecting with Emily’s storyline. Who was she? What was happening to her? How was she connected to Sasha? Of course you get all the answers towards the end. Although Sasha’s chapters were alluring and captivating, I found myself absent minded while reading Emily’s POV. I needed to know more about her in order to connect with her and care about her journey.

All in all, it's dark and surprising turns hooked me and I absolutely recommend it!

After finding out that she was adopted upon her mother's death, Sasha shows up at 64 Maple Street the house that she once lived in as a child. She just wants to see if she can have a look around, hoping it will bring back memories of her childhood. To her surprise, when the door opens a frazzled Cecelia assumes that she was the new nanny and welcomes her in. When the opportunity presents herself she doesn't pass it up. Instead, she is introduced to the children and jumps right in to help where she is so desperately needed. The kids love her, and she gets some time to explore the house and the memories it holds. It's a win, win.

Meantime, a patient named Emily is released from a mental hospital after being convicted of a murder 20 years earlier. She is unstable and suspicious of the caregiver that are assigned to athelp her adjust to the outside world.

I really enjoyed this psychological thriller, I finished it in one day as I just couldn't put it down. I didn't find Emily's storyline as enjoyable at first, as I didn't love the characters or how they fit into the book. As this story unfolds with it's dark and surprising turns, the pieces come together to a chilling and unexpected ending.

It took me a while to get into this story. Once I did, I was frustrated because the two storylines never connected--at least for quite a long time. I nearly gave up because I couldn't understand a point to this long story or where it was headed. The ending nearly made up for all of that though. Darkly delicious and totally shocking.

I have to start by saying BUY THIS BOOK, BUY THIS BOOK! I am really unsure how any written review will do this book justice? But I’ll give it a go anyway.

Mrs K has definitely straightened the crown and reminded readers why she is just so brilliant! This is a book that will become completely addictive until you finish the very last page. I have wanted more even after the last page.

The Babysitter’s Secret is a phenomenal, psychological masterpiece which is completely immersive and unpredictable. I have been left in awe of Casey Kelleher, I am a huge fan and have read all of Casey’s books and this is one of the best. This is tense, filled with suspense and has completely pulled the ground from under me. Mrs K never fails to deliver and each book gets better and better.

What a mixture of characters in this book! Each flawed in their own way and each on a journey. As a reader, we are really taken to the dark side in this book. I have loved every minute. Is there anything worse than a mother who has murdered their child?

This is definitely unpredictable and deeply dark but I have loved it. This is a book I have devoured and can safely say that this is a masterpiece. I would love to see this one on screen, I would definitely be watching that. My only regret of reading this so quickly, is that I can’t experience this as a first read again. It truly is magnificent.

The Babysitter’s Secret is a must for fans of the genre. This is a book that you definitely don’t want to miss out on. Mrs K has created the perfect deliciously dark masterpiece that will leave readers speechless. Five stars doesn’t show how brilliant this book is.

Sasha has returned to the house where she was born, looking for answers about her early life. When she arrives, harried working mom Cecelia mistakes Sasha for the new nanny she’s been expecting. Rather than correcting her, Sasha sees her chance to move in and gain unfettered access to the house. Before long, it seems like living there is sparking Sasha’s buried memories to surface.

Sasha’s story alternates with Emily’s POV. Emily is recently released from a psychiatric hospital. She tries to act like she’s doing better, but she can’t stop hearing a little girl crying day and night. Her carers Louise and Charlotte don’t hear the little girl, but she’s real to Emily. Charlotte treats her kindly, but Emily is convinced Louise is trying to sabotage her recovery.

I love a multiple POV story, and this one intrigued me from the get-go because Sasha and Emily didn’t appear to have any connection to each other and I couldn’t wait to see how their stories would come together. I was invested in the mystery of what happened in Sasha’s childhood home, as it was obviously horrible. The twists are shocking and dark, and I am here for it!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing me an advance copy of this book.

The Babysitter's Secret by Casey Kelleher alternated storylines told from the perspectives of Emily and Sasha. It is a very dark story and deals with mental health issues and trauma. I was able to read this book in one day. I needed to discover the secrets and what would happen to each of these characters.

Returning to the house where Sasha was born, she finds a family living the life she'd always dreamed of. And when Cecelia, the mother, mistakes her for the new nanny, Sasha seizes the chance to move in, hoping to spark some memory of her living there and find answers about her early life.

But this family is not the happy one it appears from the outside. Cecelia is angry, unpredictable, and unstable. She is not the mother these children deserve. They are scared of her, and rightly so.

As Sasha's memories begin to crystalize, she is determined to shelter the children from harm.

The other main character is Emily. She is in her own apartment after leaving a psychiatric facility. Louise and Charlotte are her carers and come to check in on her and watch over her. Emily suspects Louise of stealing her diary. Emily likes Charlotte and feels that Charlotte protects her from Louise's meanness. Emily keeps hearing a child crying but is told it is her imagination. Things are not easy for Emily. Is she imagining things, is her mental health slipping again or is someone trying to drive her to another breakdown?

The story's outcome and the revelations about some characters are intriguing and jaw-dropping. Definitely had dark, twisted turns and revelations.

This story had twists you will never see coming. It is a gripping psychological thriller and perfect for The Housemaid, The Widow, and The Housewarming fans.

Wow this book is a major head twist. Just when you think you know what happened it’s all turned on its head and you never know what happened. We follow Sasha who in a case of a misunderstanding becomes a babysitter for Cecelia in a house that Sasha seems to have some deeply buried memories of. Along side this story we follow Emily who has been released from a secure hospital after committing an unspeakable app and as she tries to settle back into society her past seems to not want to let her go. As this story weaves into a dark conclusion it appears no one is completely who they say they are. I won’t spoil this one just read it as you won’t be disappointed.

The Babysitter's Secret by Casey Kelleher is another addictive read from this not to be missed author.

Sasha has just discovered a shocking secret and returns to the house where she was born to search for answers. When she is mistaken for the new nanny, she accepts the position and is thrown into the deep end by frazzled single working mother Cecilia. It seems that this house still holds secrets, and Sasha is not going anywhere until she is certain that she can shield Cecilia's children from the harm that she herself has endured.

This is a dark and twisty tale that will have you hooked from the word go.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.

Sasha is still reeling from the confession her mother made in a letter left with her lawyer. That Sasha is adopted.

She decides to visit the house where she was born, and finds a family living there, and is mistaken for the new nanny that is supposed to arrive that morning. She takes the job, hoping that something in the house will release memories of when she lived there as a child.

Emily is released from an institution and has two carers, Louise and Charlotte. She suspects Louise of stealing her diary and Charlotte protects her from Louise's venom.
She keeps hearing a child crying, very loudly, and is told that it is her imagination.

This is a very dark story, with numerous twists and the reader is left guessing during every chapter.

There is a very dark twist at the end of the book as well.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was in the mood for something quick, eerie, and thrilling today. I wanted a paperback Lifetime movie, and Casey Kelleher delivered! No lie, I neglected my housework and read this in one sitting. I needed to know what was going to happen, so I refused to put it down until I had answers! Some of the twists were predictable from the start, some weren't. There were numerous twists... Something my thriller loving soul will never complain about. This was a great read!

Whoa! Oh Wow! I just love this authors work.

This family is hiding much more than the truth.

A truly addictive twisted stand alone novel, once again has hit me as unputdownable!

What has she done?
Emily Pickett once again listening to the roaring crying baby next door.
Is the baby ok? is the mother struggling? should she check? No she popped two sleeping pills she must get some sleep.

Sasha Hammond arrives at 64 maple Street is this the right house? a big Victorian house she expected a squalor and rings the copper bell thinking of the newspaper article, memories of forgotten years came flooding back this is where it all started. The door is answered by flustered single mother Cecelia Clarke and before Sasha can get a word in edge ways she becomes the new nanny the house use to be a hostel for vulnerable women and has history.
Sasha needs answers and they lie in this house.

Such a dark physical story. chapter after chapter, as I read I craved more more more with tears falling as my heart pounded, I seriously recommend this book as a must read on your pile, two dangerous women characters hiding the most despicable secret ever imagined.
Absolutely fantastic right to the very end. I need a large glass of red wine now.
