This would be a beautiful gift for a new mama! The devotions are short and sweet and truly hit home during the newborn season of life. One of my favorite verses mentioned was in devotion 3, that says "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps," Proverbs 16:9, and isn't that the truth of parenting and motherhood? The sweetness of having another mama share her experiences along side you where you aren't feeling alone, when things may not go as planned, but looking back after the fact, knowing God's hand was at work in all that we as mamas have accomplished.

I also loved that after each devotion a prayer was listed and it helps put into words some of the bigger feelings, and again, feeling like lifting each other up in this season.

Truly a gift, Ellie!

Incredibly life giving! As I am writing this, it is 2 AM and I am rocking my sweet baby in my arms - I think that sums up what this book is about. A 52-week devotional (but I read it in one!) designed for new moms, this book will surely bless you. I felt truth wash over me as I read Scripture and encouragements from someone who is a little farther along in my journey than I am.

Thank you, Ellie, for this precious gift and for
pointing me to Jesus.

A few favorite quotes…

"This season of life will contain both joy and
exhaustion, both deep meaning and new levels of stress. The good news is that Jesus is equally real and tangible in each of those
circumstances.”

"He created your arms to be your baby's
favorite place to rest, your face to elicit their
biggest smiles, your voice to soothe them like no one else's can.”

"When you feel anxious about the future,
remember this: God has so much goodness
planned for you and your baby, and there is so much to look forward to.

As a mom to a young baby (5 months old at time of review) I found these devotionals to be very applicable. I felt that the content was encouraging and uplifting for new moms. I have an older child so this isn’t my first time in the postpartum period, but each time is different and I felt that any mom could get something out of this book. I especially enjoyed the third devotional regarding your birth story being special no matter what transpired. I would get this as a gift for expectant moms in my life.

This is a weekly devotional prayer book, I would say, for new mothers. I do feel this is a period which requires more nurturing and care for the mother’s health and well-being. It’s a difficult period too trying to adjust with the new changes and emotions.

I do feel this collection will be really helpful. The content is very relaxing and filled with amazing writing which provides enough understanding and grace.

Gift this book to a new mom. She will really appreciate it.

Thank you, Zeitgeist and the author, for the advance reading copy.
