This is turning into one of my favorite series. I love that the author Rebecca Zanetti has made a character that is neurodivergent but is thriving professionally as well as personally.

FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow is very much aware of how lucky she is. Her half-sister is, after all, psychotic. However, Laurel is having difficulty proving it. During a grueling winter in the Pacific Northwest, men are being murdered, their bodies naked inside tents and with Valentine’s Day candy stuffed down their throats. Laurel and her Fish and Wildlife Captain boyfriend, Huck Rivers, are in the middle of discovering these individuals’ pasts when Laurel’s shows up on her mother’s doorstep. Laurel’s estranged rapist father, Pastor Zeke Caine, has emerged from nowhere after being missing for 5 years.

Normally, thrillers like this begin to become repetitive (Hello, James Patterson!). However, I have found Zanetti’s plots to enhance the character developments of all her characters and not just the primary ones. For example, Laurel and Huck’s decision to date and work on their communication. There is also Walter and his healing and friendships. Each of these characters brings a new spark to the novel. They are much more than supporting characters, they amplify the parts of the main characters that drew readers in to begin with.

The plot was all consuming. I really wanted this to be the One, where Laurel caught Abigail, but even I know it won’t be that simple. I do hope it doesn’t drag out to long, because sometimes that can cause those same repetitive issues. I suspected a different character that who was actually the murderer, because I wasn’t really expecting the connection, or the motive. I didn’t fully understand the reasoning, but I guess people have committed crimes for much more far-fetched reasons.

Overall, I rate this novel 5 out of 5 stars, and can’t wait for the next book.

Special Agent Laurel Snow is on the hunt for another serial killer. The race to find the “Broken Heart Murderer” was gripping and had me on the edge of my seat! I had a hard time putting the book down. However, the confrontation with the ending felt a bit rushed, and there were a lot of loose ends left to tie up hopefully in the next book….if there is a next book?

This is fast paced book with lots of action and suspense with so many suspects that everyone is in danger. Never a dull moment for Agent Snow as she runs her team to stop the killer in their tracks. I highly recommend this suspenseful series!!

FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow has agreed to take on the Violent Crimes Unit for the Pacific Northwest. Having just returned home from solving her most recent case on the east coast, Laurel is thrust into another serial killer case. Men are being brutally murdered, their bodies left near places of worship with Valentine's Day candy shoved in their mouths. All the deaths appear to tie back to one Law Firm. To complicate matters, Laurel is still trying to tie her sister to the last case she solved and her good for nothing father has returned to town. Even though the cases are occurring outside his jurisdiction, Washington Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers is available to assist Laurel as needed.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I have really enjoyed the Laurel Snow series. Rebecca Zanetti has hit another one out of the ballpark with this series. Zanetti has written such a perfect character with Agent Snow. Laurel is extremely intelligent and insightful, it's what makes her an amazing profiler. Having attended college at an early age she sometimes struggles with social cues and interpersonal interactions. Her ability to emphasize with others is something she constantly worries about but her concern for her employees and friends is real. Zanetti has contrasted Laurel with her older sister who is equally as intelligent but is a narcissistic psychopath. This third installment of the series I have enjoyed greater development of the secondary characters. I am excited to read the next murder mystery that Laurel and her team will solve.

This is the third book in a series by Rebecca Zanetti following FBI agent Laurel Snow and her investigations into the serial killings happening in and around her small home town in Washington state. Beyond the “how can there be so many serial killers around this lady”? question in my mind I find the main character to be a little bit unengaging. I understand that as the books progress her character will become more likable as choice she makes change her for the good. I do have a hard time moving beyond that feeling when I read this series. She’s very smart but can’t read peoples emotions well yet her adversarial and also very smart sister can? Dunno. The smut level was low here with only one spicy scene and the rest of the storyline was a little bit boring for me. Would I read again? No. Will I read the next book? Probably. It’s getting a little bit better but there was a plot twist at the end that I don’t know if it is a good or bad thing for me and this series.

This is the first book I have picked up by this author and I loved her writing style. You instantly get drawn into book and can’t wait to see what happens next. Laurel Snow is a genius who is investigating a murder. She believes her sister is the killer. The rivalry between the two sisters and all the witty banter was brilliant.

A great FBI series that goes straight from A to B.

This was a fast-paced serial killer mystery with a little slow burn romance mixed in. I did not know when I started this book that it was part of a series and that was not made clear in any of the advertisements of the book or in the description. I was able to put things together, but I think that missed some things especially about the sister.
Rebecca does well with misdirection. You think that you have things figured out and then things take an unexpected turn, and your theory is all wrong. Great character development and wonderful story. Definitely a different kind of FMC but i really liked her.
There were some details that were either overlooked or added for no reason (i.e., the mom and the tea). Felt unnecessary. Overall, a good book and I'm looking forward to the next one!

“You Can Die” is book number three of the Laurel Snow series, and definitely not the last, thankfully 🙏🏼

The plot line to book three is similar to book two, except instead of women being killed with black dahlias around them, it’s men being killed, with their bodies found near churches, charities, and counselling centers—each with valentine candy hearts shoved down their throats. The case takes a personal turn when the father she’s never met, a former pastor, is attacked in exactly the same way.

Besides solving the case, Laurel is on the hunt to discover where her father has been for the last five years. Complicating things is Laurel’s half-sister, Abigail, who I feel like is slowly playing a bigger role in each book, telling Laurel that “if she were a serial killer, she’d never get caught.”

Again, the plot was similar to book two, however we are learning more and more about the psychopathic, narcissistic sister and I have a feeling she will be more of a focal point in the next book!

Wow wow wow! A rollercoaster is twisty turny suspense. Amazing characters we have come to love make this book perfect. It was fast paced and spine chilling throughout. This one starts off at breakneck speed and grabs you and sucks you in. Chilling this the very last page and that jaw dropping plot twist.
Well written, well done, absolutely amazing.

A good solid 4 ⭐️ Crime Thriller.

Laurel is with the FBI. She is assigned to a case where men are coming up dead with candy hearts stuffed in their mouths.

I didn’t realized this was the third book in the series but now I’m going to go back and read the first two. I was a little confused in the first couple chapters since they were talking about information that happened in the first two books. Once the crimes started going though I was so involved into the storyline.

Laurel also reminders me Temperance Brennan (TV version) type person with that logical and straightforward type of person and I loved it!

The crime and what follows is so intense that you get drawn in and you can’t stop reading. I was up late to find out who the killer is. I was on the tip of my toes the whole entire book.

Did I guess the killer. No. It was a great plot twist toward the end of the book.

I really enjoyed this book. This has been a great series. I love the two main characters from the series. I was not able to put the book down. It was so good, I was sad when it ended. I can't wait for the next book. There is lots of romance, steam and suspense. Each book keeps getting better. The only thing I would like to see is more detailed love scenes between the main characters.

Thank you #NetGalley and #Kensington Books for the eARC of #YouCanDie. I thought this book was a very good story. I have not read the prior books in the series so it took me awhile to catch up. I would say this story is a slow burn.

I now need to read the other two books.

Laurel is one of my favorite characters. She is extremely smart yet emotionally stunted. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t know how to love. I love watching her evolve as the series progresses. She grows as each book comes out. Her relationship with Huck is getting more intimate too (yay!). Yes they have already had sex, but I am talking about the emotional investment they are both making.

While still trying to find evidence that her sister is a killer, Laurel is also trying to find a new serial killer who leaves a calling card of Valentines heart candies. Enter a person that Laurel hoped never to see again and you have a hot mess.

I love this entire series and hope to see it continue. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book provided by Netgalley.

Just wow! Third installment - Quirky yet brilliant female lead, and equally brilliant and highly manipulative villain- who is her sister. Add in diverse and interesting characters, including a hunky boyfriend and his dog, and ritualistic serial murder - I dare you to put this down until the very end.

Rebecca Zanetti's "You Can Die" takes readers on a thrilling journey through the snowy and atmospheric rural Pacific Northwest, where FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow finds herself yet again entangled in a complex web of family secrets/drama and a relentless hunt for a serial killer.
Set against a backdrop of deadly winter, the story begins with Laurel Snow and her team investigating a series of murders that target seemingly good men in the community. Each victim is found with valentine candy hearts forced into their throats, leaving a chilling signature. As the investigation unfolds, Laurel's own father, whom she has never met, becomes the latest attack victim, turning the case into a deeply personal matter.
Laurel is not only determined to solve her father's attack but also to uncover the truth about his mysterious past. However, her deeply troubled half-sister, Abigail, adds a dangerous twist to the narrative. Abigail, a brilliant sociopath, seeks to prove that both she and Laurel have inherited their father's malignant narcissism, further complicating Laurel's quest for answers.
Laurel continues balancing her relationship with Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers, her dangerously narcissist sister Abigail, her loving mother and investigations for the FBI. This book brings Laurel out of her self contained cocoon and further into the world of messy relationships and friendships and all the drama that it contains.
"You Can Die" is a captivating thriller that seamlessly blends family drama, psychological suspense, and a race against time. Rebecca Zanetti's engaging writing style and her skillful execution of the plot make this book a must-read for fans of fast-paced, page-turning mysteries.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensignton Books for the e-arc.

This was 3.5 stars rounded up for me. I have not read the first two entries in the series. It was clear I was missing backstory details but I don't think reading the first two is necessary to enjoy You Can Die. Having said that, I think reading the second book in the series before this one probably adds some appreciation to references in the text that I recognize as being reference to prior events but have no context.

I really like Laurel Snow and her matter of fact approach. Nothing about the FBI felt at all realistic to me but that has only a minor impact of my enjoyment of the plot. Huck is great a both a character and romantic interest.

For me, this falls squarely into the read it and enjoy it for what it is category.

Rebecca Zanetti is a master at combing suspense, romance and a major adventure ride. “You Can Die” has all this and more and I’m just so amazed at how this book reels you in and has you ripping through pages desperate to know more. A must read.!

Another excellent addition to this series! I loved the progression of Laurel and Huck's relationship and that ending 0_0. Rebecca Zanetti continues to build the best villains. Abigail is still playing a cat and mouse game with her sister and dodging being held accountable for her actions. Their dad's return further complicates and already complicated family dynamic between the sisters. The ending leaves some many questions on what is going to happen next. I can't wait to read another book in this series.

In this latest addition to the Laurel Snow series, we got an interesting development in the romantic department.

Anyway, to the meat of the story. I have to say that the first half, was a little boring for me. I would say this one is pretty much a continuation of the last book (which if you can, I recommend reading these two books in tandem since we have a lot of reoccurring characters from the previous book). Sure, we have another serial killer on the loose, this time, victims bludgeoned to death and surrounded with Valentine's candies. This part is probably the slow part for me. Especially since it kinda using the same pacing (?), and plot (?) as the second book (except this one was more focused on male victims).

Then, the second half started with the introduction of Zeke Caine a.k.a. the absent abusive father of Laurel Snow. From then on, with the addition of that *twist*, grabbed my attention immediately. Only then, I started to connect the dots together and began to pay attention to what was happening. What I can say about this part, I wished the father character was introduced sooner in the book. We barely got any scenes with him and then, he was attacked. But then again, I guess this mystery would continue into the next book.

All in all, I think this series is starting to shape itself up and I'm excited to see how things will go from now on.

I love Laurel and Huck, who I affectionately call Luck, their chemistry is off the charts. Abigail scares the crap out of me and I'm glad her attention is being diverted by her Laurel's dear old dad, insert a sarcastic tone please. The author kept me hooked until the very end I didn't see the twist coming and it was genius. If you enjoy psychological thrillers with an investigative team full of endearing characters this will be your new favorite series.
