Another gem from Mandy Baggot. A fabulous setting, several unhappy people and a village full of characters make for an enjoyable story of village life and life after loss. I really warmed to all of the characters and was rooting for a happy ending! A really enjoyable read that transports you to Corfu.

Under a Greek Sun tells the story of Eve, who desperately needs some time off and so heads to Corfu to visit her best friend Gabby.
While there, she begins to think about some of the things that have been holding her back over the past few years - the death of her father, the addiction of her brother, her fragmented relationship with her mother and her stalled career. Propelled into the mix is handsome coffee magnate, Italian Gianni, also processing the death of his father and the dramatic death-bed revelation that he is actually someone else's son.

Their stories intertwine and the two develop passionate feelings for one another. But when both of their pasts threaten to de-rail their future, they need to decide how to work through their issues.

Written with attention to detail, especially accurate descriptions of delicious Greek food and sumptuous Corfu settings, Under a Greek Sun is the perfect holiday read with heart. Many thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This was just okay to me. I can not imagine taking my brother anywhere. I just couldn't relate to the characters at all. 3 stars I think many will enjoy this one just wasn't for me.

Eve turns out to be an interesting character who has her vulnerabilities and I particularly liked the way that you could understand her adult behaviours when you knew the full story of her early years. Perceptive and tuned in to others’ problems, she has been struggling to cope with her grief at her father’s death. Wary of trusting men, she has buried herself in a version of her life which feels like her safe place. This has made making new relationships hard.

Alongside Eve’s story, we have Gianni’s which turns out to be surprising. He has come to Corfu looking for answers. All his ideas about his childhood have been thrown up in the air. Corfu is a delightful setting for the story and there are plenty of locals to add humour and colour. Family is an important component and there are several relationships to follow. This is a great read for the coming Summer.

In short: secrets from the past have far reaching consequences

If there is a book written with the setting in Greece, I'm there! This is my first book written by Ms. Baggot and it won't be my last. Well written, entertaining and the setting couldn't be more glorious. My thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this perfect beach read and could imagine Corfu in the sunshine. What a gorgeous story and so well written. Worth more than five stars in my mind. Recommend this one if you like a story you can sink into. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

I visited Corfu 20 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed revisiting it in Under a Greek Sun. A great holiday romance, perfect for a beach read this summer (or at home, when you're wishing you were at the beach, or on a Greek island).

I enjoyed reading this book, filled with friendship, family & finding your true self … and obviously romance.
An emotional plot-line at times, but on the whole a feel-good story & another hit for Mandy Baggot.

Eve works two jobs, and as much as she likes her life, it's time for a break. Her best friend Gabby works at an animal sanctuary in Corfu and is eager for her to visit.

Eve imagines a relaxing time on the beach, but it's a bit more chaotic than that. Not only is Gabby spread too thin and in need of help, but she also took with her brother, who lost his job. She is desperate for them to connect, but nothing seems to work.

And then there is Gianni, an heir to the coffee empire in Italy, who just lost his father. His life was shaken by his dead bed request, for Gianni to find his biological father. He had no idea and his whole identity goes through a wringer.

Under a Greek Sun is a love story, of two very different people finding each other in the midst of chaos and falling in love. But before their could a HEA, they both have to deal with their past and family issues.

There is mad chemistry between the characters and the sparks just fly from the screen. The story deal with heavier issues, but in a light tone. The writing is very addicting, I couldn't put the book down.

I got the ARC, all thoughts are my own

I had heard good things about Mandy's writing, but had never read any of her books yet. I am so glad that I have now read one and really enjoyed it. Now I understand what people are talking about and I want to read more of Mandy's books!

This is Eve and Gianni's story, set on Corfu (Greece) and a bit in Italy. It is a really cute story, with lovely characters and the whole community around the animal sanctuary on Corfu, run by Eve's best friend Gabby is just lovely. I loved the animals and also the villagers there. There were some really memorable characters there and we had quite some experiences! I thought all the villagers and the place itself just really came alive and I feel like I was there with them. I liked that there was more to the story than just a meet cute, but also family drama and grief and secrets.

This is my first book by Baggot and I really enjoyed it! Now I wish I wasn’t married so I could go to Greece and find a holiday romance! Baggot made it sound so wonderful. Not just the romance, but Corfu itself. Baggot writes the perfect plot that makes you want to cozy up with a blanket and get lost in the book. I read this one so fast because I couldn’t put it down! I really liked all the characters in the book, even if I didn’t like them at first, they eventually grew on me as I learned all about them. Eve and Gianni are so cute together; they have great chemistry. The extra special plus in this novel is how much the animals are loved and cared for. It was so sweet how everyone came together for the animals and how the animals really help people. I would recommend this book to anyone that’s a sweet romance, with a lot of flirtation. I can’t wait to read another Mandy Baggot novel!

My Review: I had an enjoyable time on this easy to follow read. We find ourselves in the UK, Italy and Greece. Eve and Ben travel to Corfu to find some relief and healing. I love the mention of Animal Crossing, I adored that game for the wii when someone very close to me passed away, I hid in the game. We also meet Gianni who discovers a truth on his fathers death bed which leads him to Greece. It's a journey of discovery, grief, love and healing.

📖📖📖

The Greek isle of Corfu is a lovely setting for growing love, long held secrets, and delicious food. To Eve, it is a vacation to spirit her brother away from life in England. For Gianni it is a time to find his biological father. Ben, eves brother comes alive while working at the animal sanctuary. Eve and Gianni become closer but each have obstacles they need to deal with.

This is a weighted romance. I felt like the emotional burden of the book took it down for me. The subplots and side characters weren't just fillers. They each had their own issues and obstacles to over come. The main characters came with a lot of baggage. The romance in the book fell flat and didn't intrest me that much. Overall this was cute story with exotic locations but I wouldn’t read it again and hesitate to recommend it.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

Under A Greek Sun is an emotional and character-driven romantic tale in Corfu. The setting is vibrantly brought to life by the author, who knows it well, and I enjoyed the descriptions of culture, food and places that gave this story its authenticity. Italy and England also feature, so it's an armchair travellers delight. Complex characters and family drama drive this story full of community, friendship and romance. It's an entertaining read with a great setting and believable characters, making this story heartbreaking and heartwarming.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

This book was a very special treat that had me tasting the wonderful Greek food and enjoying the feeling of the sun on my skin. Granted, I never left home but I felt like I was actually on Corfu. I particularly enjoyed the story where it revolved around the animal rescue centre. The mysterious board who never actually attended to carry out their inspections and the wonderful array of mischievous animals. They kept me entertained with their antics.
Eve was a wonderful character who truly needed her break in the Greek sunshine, having been worn out by her job as a counsellor. She is now intent on relaxing with her best friend and her brother. Despite the fact that Ben, Eve’s brother wasn’t originally included in the itinerary, it was good to see their relationship strengthen.
We then meet Gianni, tall, dark, and handsome he was visiting from Verona, Italy. His motivation was to seek out a man mentioned to him on his Father’s deathbed. He has no name or idea how he’s going to track him down, but he really must.
There is a wonderful chemistry between both Eve and Gianni, and I was certainly hopeful that they make take a leap of faith and get to know one another better. I certainly didn’t spot that Ben had any romantic overtures, but they worked perfectly.
For me, the stars of the story were the villagers. Dabbling in tarot, there is plenty of fun to be had from seeing their predictions and interferences come to fruition. They were a wonderful group who had me smiling each time they appeared on the pages.
I was left feeling contented by the twists and turns in the book and adored the way in which all the characters interacted to bring a truly marvellous story to a perfect conclusion. There’s a lot going on but there’s nothing complicated about it and the story just washes joyfully over you. Mandy Baggot, this is another smashing story.

I love a good summer romance and this one completely stole my heart. Eve and Gianni are wonderful together. I also loved the fact all the characters had their own personal battles, but still pulled together to help each other cope. The Greek and Italian heritage and landscapes were beautifully described and it made me feel like I was there with them, If I want a holiday romance Mandy Baggot will be a go to author.

http://www.theintrepidreaWelcome to the next stop on my European book tour. I have read many, many books set in France. And I have read lots of books set in Italy! I have read a couple of books set in Portugal not too long ago. Next stop - Greece!

Eve Collins hasn't really moved on since her beloved father died 6 years earlier. In addition to her job as a school counsellor, she also works a couple of nights a week in the pub her father loved. She is still looking out for her younger brother, Ben who has had some issues over the years. Oh, and she still can barely spend any time with her mother Glenda.

Eve is using her school holidays to visit her friend Gabby who has moved to Corfu in Greece to run an animal shelter. Her plan is to relax and enjoy any idyllic Greek island holiday. However, Ben ends up accompanying her and her idyllic holiday is further disrupted because Gabby is working 4 or 5 jobs just to make ends meet.

Gianni has also lost his father, but it is much more recent. The man who has raised him shared a deathbed secret which has Gianni running to Corfu to see if he can find out the truth of his identity. Gianni is part of a successful family coffee business, one which he now needs to run with his mother and he needs to find a way to work with her for the good of the business.

When Gianni meets Eve, there is definitely a connection, but the question is will the ghosts from Eve's past spook her, or maybe Gianni's grief and anger will be the obstruction.

One of the reasons I love reading these kinds of books where people go off to new locations is that when you have a skilled author describing the places, people and food, you can see the place, feel the atmosphere and get hungry at the thought of the food. I had heard of Mandy Baggott before and had intended to read her but just haven't done it before now. However, having seen how skilled she is at taking us with her characters to Corfu (with a short trip to Verona in Italy), I will definitely be reading more. I really wanted to be joining in a celebration at the village taverna, meet the locals and to eat Fanouropita cake! And maybe even visit the animal shelter, although I would be sure to stay away from Savage the bird.

Next time I feel the need for some Greek sunshine, I will be picking up one of Mandy Baggott's books!

Happy Friday - it’s my turn on the blog tour today for this fab book and I am totally wishing I was in this pretty cover! ☀️🇬🇷

I really enjoyed reading this and do love a good romance, especially when there is a travel element to it. I thought it was an hilarious meet cute, where you could feel the chemistry right away.

I enjoyed getting to know all the characters, I felt they were all really likeable.
I also felt it had such a warm community spirit feel. As well as the warmth of the book it also had some deeper issues which was a great balance. Mandy got this spot on.

The descriptive writing of all things Greek made me feel like I was there at the tavernas in the villages; with the delicious food, ouzo and the love of the local people.
The food was mouth watering and Mandy took me right back to my Greek eating days when I lived in Cyprus with the mention of all this.

It’s definitely a book to pick up this summer and it will make the perfect beach read or a great read during these awful rainy days wishing we were on a Greek Island.

If you love a great romance in a stunning, beautiful location with lovely descriptive writing of the setting and food then you will love this.

Corfu is on my list and Mandy made it sound wonderful.

Favourite quote which is so true; Without the highs and the lows, there is only ever “OK” and who wants only “OK”?

Eve and Gianni meet in Corfu, for once a holiday romance runs relatively smoothly, its everything else that causes problems. A good holiday read, I really enjoyed the book.
