NEED MORE RIGHT NOW!! This was an incredible ride to be back on, and from his perspective made it that much more enjoyable. I devoured this as fast as I possibly could, so happy to have returned to their world!

This was a wold that brought me back to early high school finding the first book on a walmart shelf. I got it on an impulse, and it started a whole new ride for me and my friends since. Trust me, you can't be a book from this world, especially in Bones view.

Both Feet in the Grave is the 8th book in the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost. I've only read one of book in the series, even though I've always wanted to read all of it.

Both Feet in the Grave is told from Bones' perspective (and I think is an updated retelling of One Foot in the Grave, Book 2 in the series) and I love hearing things from his side!

I thought this book was incredible! I loved the story line. There was so much going on and I loved how fast paced this was! I was truly on the edge of my seat and I could not put it down!

I loved the characters and found them to be fascinating! The romance was wonderfully developed and was hot and steamy (definitely NSFW)!

The narration by Will Watt was incredible! What a voice!!!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I'm not sure what to say except that I love Bones, most ardently. Like I said about The Other Half of the Grave, I never knew I needed his POV until we got it and book 2 just reibsures it even more. Because I was introduced to Vlad first, it was an instant love for me, but Bones might be taking the #1 spot... Until we get Vlad's POV, of course.

So much more emotion comes through especially since we see how he has been when they were apart. Agony, I tell ya.

I really need to reread this series again because I have forgotten so much. But what an elevated experience it has been to revisit older scenes, but some newer ones. Or even just the ones we were eager to see what he was thinking.

Jeaniene, thank you, THANK YOU for blessing us with Bones' books, I'm forever in your debt!

Narration: hats off to Will M. Watt, pure perfection bringing Bones' to live. I can't comment much on the accent, but it all sounded great to me.

This is the second Night Huntress book told by Bones‘s perspective. The first one felt like Bones was getting his bearings, and this book jumps in full throttle, and gave us the full Bones experience, and it is awesome!

Telling the flipside of One Foot in the Grave, we get such different perspective and view of the events leading up to the reunion of Cat and Bones and the results of said reunion and consequential teaming up.

This book really flushed out Bones’ character and gave life to his angst as he searches for Cat in the five years before he finds her. I really enjoyed getting to see his search and getting to see his friends and the other side characters react to his pursuit of Cat.

As a fan of the series, this was an excellent addition, and I could not put it down. It had the same excitement and freshness is the book it tells the other side of.

I had the pleasure of l listening to a narrated version by Will Watt, and was impressed on his take of bones. As I said, I’ve read and listen to the rest of this entire series, and I absolutely loved the narration provided, thus was hesitant starting with this new narrator. Watt surpassed my expectations and did a great nuanced performance for Bones and the rest of the characters. His narration added a lot of emotion and tone to the story and provided a fun backdrop.

Both feet in the Grave got me super excited again for the Night Huntress series as a whole. I loved seeing the reunion of Cat and Bones from a different perspective and seeing other series favourites like Denise, Rodney, Spade, Ian and Menchares show up in this new and modernized retelling of the story.

At this rate I think I could read anything if it was from Bones’ point of view!

Thanks to the author in NetGalley for this advance reader copy. Opinions are my own.

Book #8 in the Night Huntress series and I loved every single word. Bones & Cat are my favorite vampires and I loved reading about them. I am a huge Bones & Cat fan I could not wait to sync my claws into this book.

Both Feet in the Grave
Rating: 4.5 Stars
I received a free ARC, but this review is my honest opinion of the book
In general, I’m really not a fan of reading books that are the same story from a different POV, but this series is special enough that I was willing to give it a read. Overall, I really enjoyed it and I think that it was worth reading. Despite already having read this from Cat’s perspective, I still found the plot interesting. Also, it’s been a while since I’ve read the books, so it was probably helpful that I had forgotten some of the details.
I loved seeing the story from Bones’ perspective. It was interesting to learn the backstory of Bones’ relationship with Anette, Ian, and other characters from his perspective. Of course, it was also great to see his feelings toward Cat and how their separation impacted him. Jeaniene Frost did a good job of getting me to feel empathy for the characters.
Note: I actually read this audiobook, which is not something I usually do. The narration was pretty decent, especially for Bones’ and Anette’s voices. At first, I cringed a little when the narrator did Cat’s voice, but by the end, it didn’t really bother me.

This is an ideal series for someone who really enjoyed the Buffy and Spike relationship in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It wasn’t for me for an assortment of reasons, but the primary one was the violence that was portrayed on her mother. Yes, her mother absolutly sucked, but it's still elder abuse. Also, the nickname Kitten was not my favorite and there was way too much actual eating of people going on. The narration was good, but the production could use some work.

Thank you Jeanine Frost, Nancy Yost Literary Agency, and Net Galley for my advanced review copy.

Both Feet in the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
Night Huntress #8. Aka #2.5 IMO, One Foot in the Grave from Bones POV. Vampire stories with romance.
It’s taken Bones four long years to find Cat. While searching, he also accepted kill orders where she was the target. Of course, he went after the payer rather than Cat, because he can’t have anyone actually harm her! And he has to convince his own maker that Cat shouldn’t be ended. Bones has quite a task list to keep Cat alive.

I absolutely love reading Bones POV. We were told he loved Cat. But he also beat her to unconsciousness during training! Yes I have a hard time getting over those scenes from book 1. After listening to the two books in his POV, I am so happy or actually feel his love.

🎧 I listened to the story by audiobook narrated by Will Watt. His performance is phenomenal. His voice and accent is exactly what I would want to bring Bones to life. The emotions, the timing, the way the various voices are produced, all factor into believing that Bones really does care for Cat.

The underwear stalking discussion was hilarious. Even Bones couldn’t keep his laughter contained.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley and Dreamscape.

I LOVE the nighthuntress series, and i was so excited to dive into this retelling of the same story from bones POV since he was such a mysterios character and one of my first book boyfriends 🥰. This was my first time listening to an audiobook and i have mixed feelings, it really took me a long time getting use to listening to the narrator because i am not really use to this, and i had a hard time picturing the characters, this is definitely my problem because everyone else seem to love it. Also i felt really weird listening the spicy scenes 🙃 but overall the story had the same esence, i just would prefer to read the book instead. Thank you to Dreamscape media and Netgalley for the ARC audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

When I started this audiobook, I didn't really think about how this book would start. Of course, I've reread One Foot in the Grave multiple times so nothing in the plot is a surprise to me. However, I was extremely surprised and delighted that we get a few chapters of Bones looking for and pining for Cat! We get to see the events play out that was only hinted at in One Foot in the Grave. I wanted to protect Bones with all my heart! even though I knew he and Cat would meet up at a later date.

Both Feet in the Grave also give us more time with our favorite secondary characters! We read more about Rodney, the ghoul, and Randy, Denise's fiance! We even get a scene when he and Bones first met, and Bones' reaction when he smells Cat on Randy!

I absolutely love this book. It did help that I was reading The Other Half of the Grave and the dramatized audio of Halfway to the Grave prior to listening to this audiobook. I also listened to One Foot in the Grave right after listening to this audiobook so it added more to my enjoyment.

Will Watt comes back and reads this book since it is in Bones' POV. Watt is perfect as Bones! He doesn't use a Cockney accent, though but he does use a standard British English accent, which I also love.

Watt's pacing is perfect. As a caveat, I sped up my audio to 1.25x and his voice still sounds amazing in that speed.

Recommendations

Overall, I highly recommend this book, most especially if you are a fan of the Night Huntress world. I recommend listening to book 2 right after listening to this because it just makes it more of an immersive experience, especially if you haven't reread One Foot in the Grave in a while. Both Feet in the Grave is a 6/6 read for me!

Both Feet in the Grave (Night Huntress, #8)
by Jeaniene Frost
A re look a the story the Bones point of view and how he finds Cat four years after their tragic parting. The book looks at Bones struggle with what is important to him. He redefines his life and what is important to him. It also looks at Cat's struggle to accept Bones knowing who and what he is. Cat coming to term with her greatest questions, who is her father, who is her family, and how will she spend the rest of her life. The book is an rollercoaster of emotions and personal growth. The love scenes between Bones and Cat are very dynamic and erotic. They connection is overwhelming.

When I saw I was approved for this ARC I was extremely excited. Thank you so much for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook.
The Night Huntress series is one of my absolute favorites and I have read the books multiple times. This story stayed true to the original and getting Bones’ point of view was amazing. His humor and his love for Cat is even better than I remember. The narrator had an excellent voice and I enjoyed his storytelling. While there wasn’t a whole lot of new information, it did make me happy to be back in that world with some of the best characters out there. I hope she continues with these books and other spin-offs.

Both Feet in the Grave is the second book in Jeanine Frost's retelling of her Night Huntress series as told by Bones. There will be some spoilers here so stop reading if you haven't read the first book (from Cat or Bones' points of view) in the series.

This is one of the early series that was my introduction into the paranormal romance genre. After the cliffhanger events at the end of the first book where Bones and Cat are parted, originally the series picked up with Cat telling the story. I remember being so happy, at the time, that I was late to the game because the second book was already out and I could immediately pick it up. I cannot imagine having to wait. Suffice it to say, this was the book that I was waiting for when Jeanine Frost started giving readers Bones' perspective.

I feel like narrator Will Watt brought Bones to life. Pretty much exactly how I "heard" his voice in my head for years while reading the books. I felt like It was Bones telling me his story. I think he did a great job narrating the other characters as well. Each voice was distinct so I knew who was speaking without the need of dialogue tags. I hope that he continues to narrate the remainder of the series (this is me really hoping Jeanine Frost continues!)

The first book felt too much, for me, like a play by play, just from Bones' point of view. I didn't feel like we were learning anything NEW about the characters that wasn't already established by reading things from Cat's perspective.

Both Feet in the Grave changes all of that because by the start of the book Bones and Cat have been separated for years. Getting Bones' point of view puts a new spin on some of the events. I know that I was most interested in how Bones perceived Cat's absence. We got an in-depth look at how much Bones was effected by the separation and the almost manic way he searched for her.

For me, the most interesting part were the interactions with Annette. Annette was a long-time foil for Cat in the original series having been sired by Bones and has known him for centuries. It was interesting to see the way that Annette - while a valued person in his life - doesn't really register as a romantic partner for Bones. Also, how he has blinders on when it comes to anyone else besides Cat kind of reinforcing the whole idea that this is true love for him. It's something that he hasn't truly experienced before.

In that regard, it means he still doesn't understand the potential animosity that could rear up between Annette and Cat. It was quite funny to see how caught off guard Bones was by this because he's usually so formidable and self-assured. He has a solution for everything, so it puts him out of his element a little bit.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book told from Bones' point of view. I'm hoping Jeanine Frost will continue with the rest of the series in this way. I know, like many fans, there are certain moments that stick out that I would want to get Bones' internal reaction.

I'd say if you are a fan of this series, you'll definitely want to pick this one up.

I started out listening to the audiobook and I kind of wish I had more patience because the narrator was great. It was the prefect voice for Bones, but I read a lot faster than I listen and I hit the point about a third of the way in where I couldn’t wait for more. And while I’ve read the companion book of Cat’s I will admit I don’t remember every detail and this was like getting to experience one of my favorite couples all over again. I like that the books are modernized a little bit, it helps to get lost in the story when the technology matches current day. Bones is determined to find Cat. He knows she left to protect him and he’s determined to prove to her just how wrong she was. But in his search he discovers several dangers pointed at Cat which only make him more determined.

I was thrilled to get an early copy of this book, which is the next book in the Night Huntress series, this time told in Bones’ own words. The story is very familiar, of course, but hearing it from the sexy Brit’s point-of-view gives it a totally new spin. First, before I go any further, I must admit how much I love these books, and having read the entire series several times it never gets stale. The romance is HOT, the LOVE Bones has for his Kitten is swoon-worthy and the writing is laugh-out-loud FUNNY!

For those that don’t know, the series is about Cat and Bones; Cat being Catherine Crawfield, a 20-something woman who is half-woman, half-vampire resulting from her mother unknowingly sleeping with a newly formed vampire. Her mother raised her to hate vampires and she spends her nights stalking and staking the undead. Staking, meaning killing them. She is quite successful until she runs into Bones, the gorgeous 200-year-old master vampire who is so impressed by her audacity that he kidnaps her and convinces her to go into partnership with him.

Bones puts Cat through a vigorous training routine and as a result of spending so much time together, she soon realizes that not all vampires are evil. And of course, as a result, they end up in a powerful relationship. Cat fights it at first because she knows her mother will go crazy when she finds out, but Bones has found the ONE and he is not giving up.

I was lucky enough to listen to the audiobook which is always fun in this series (I own all the audiobooks for the earlier books) and the narrator, Will Watt is perfection! I fell right back into the series and was in love with his voice.

As I said, this book is told from Bones’ POV and I loved it almost as much as I did the first time I read the first book. I know this genre is not for everyone, in fact, paranormal is not something I often read. However, as a sixty-something woman who loves a good romance this ranks as one of my all-time favorite series. I recommend this book to everyone. If you are new to the series, you could start with this book and easily follow along, but you might also want to start with the first book, Halfway to the Grave.

Many, many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher, Nancy Yost Literary Agency for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest opinion. I am so looking forward to the next book in Bones’ POV! I gave this book five fabulous stars!

Bravo! Jeaniene has done it again - another spectacular book. I am enthralled by this retelling of the original series, it is such a fun way to relive the original story but from a completely different point of view. This is what Stephanie Meyers was trying to do with Midnight Sun - but Frost is a master and gave a love story retelling with a POV swap SO MUCH BETTER.

Hearing the story from Bones' POV (with a few changes here and there) makes the reader feel like they are hearing much of the tale for the first time. You get to know Bones on a deeper level and learn more about his emotions and past history - gosh it makes me love him even more! I'm thrilled that Jeaniene is continuing on in rewriting the stories from Bones' perspective - keep going because the readers are loving it!

Also I need to comment on the audiobook itself - I've listened to only one other of Frost's books on audio (it was one of Ian's stories) but this audiobook was so much better! The narrator nailed Bones' voice in my head and he did amusing accents for other characters. Honestly, it was probably the best audiobook narration I've ever heard (as Ian's book kinda put me off audiobooks since I didn't like the narrator) - so I was worried at first but soon discovered this audiobook is a fantastic production.

Again bravo to Jeaniene for writing these retellings even when some people told her 'nobody would be interested in that' - well they were wrong because this book was top notch. Frost proves time and time again that she is a master storyteller - one who is able to breathe fresh life into a story we've heard before but yet enthrals us as if it is the first time.

I received an ALC (Advanced Listener Copy) of this audiobook from NetGalley & NYLA.

As a fan of the series I have to say getting Bones' POV has been so refreshing. I am loving each instalment and can't wait to see the rest. 🙏🏻
Saying that I am also loving that somethings have been upgrade to match the times. It keeps the books relevant.
I LOVED the Night Huntress audio from Cat's POV, but Bone's voice well it wasn't so great so I am going to say it... THANK YOU WILL WATT for making Bones the Bones he always should have been. This audio was a delight. I loved getting to see the gang again from Bones side, but also we get to see just how gone he is for Cat. I mean we always knew it but when you get his side of things, it was her or no one. LOVED!

Now that we get Bones' POV I am loving him even more. I am really happy to be revisiting these books and getting the other side of the story. I also really like the updates that the author added to these stories for 2023. This has always been such a fun and sexy series and it's made even better with Bones' POV! Can't wait for the next one!

I am so glad that Will Watt is narrating these books. I love Cat & Bones but always had issues with the narration of Bones in the original books.

The story itself was as incredible as the rest of the series- I couldn't put it down, and felt invested in the lives of each of the characters.
This was my first experience with this series in audiobook form, and the narrator was impressive. He creates different personalities and voices for each character, moving the story along in an enjoyable way.
I would absolutely recommend this title to any library patron who likes Urban Fantasy.

I’m going to sound like a broken record as I review these new books from Bones’ POV— I LOVE WILL WATT!! I’m so glad he’s the narrator for these books. I love The Night Huntress books but Bones’ voice in the other narrations is an absolute no go so I have to read the books when I want to spend time with Cat & Bones. Now I can just listen to Will and have that be the voice of the series!
It’s a pleasure to revisit these books from Bones’ POV, with updates for today’s tech, and more insights into the characters in his life. Please keep them coming!! 🙏
*Thanks to NYLA and NetGalley for the advance audiobook copy for review.
