This was a decent read however I felt it gave too much information concerning Line of Duty and not enough about real-world police corruption scandals.

In the name of Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the wee lamb - The Real Ted Hastings is a supplement to the great show Line Of Duty. True crime and real life corruption, this book is so interesting and a must for fans of the series or those that would love to be part of AC12. I wouldn’t recommend reading unless you have seen all seasons of the show and for this.

This is a great book for those who want to revisit the great show that is AC12 and the gang. It’s a shame it focuses so much on the show and not enough on the real events the show is based on. The order is off to me but I’m tough to please

A must for any true crime fan. The real life corruption that inspires tv's line of duty. Just be warned it contains lots of spoilers for the TV show

This genre is one of my go to books, however very few are very good. I found this one just went on and on about Line of Duty. Now this was one of my favourite series and I watched every one but I didn't want to read about it. - I gave up about a quarter of the way in.

Thank you for allowing me to read the book.

Although reasonably well written I was very disappointed. Before even getting to the work of Sir Robert Mark the book was padded out with a review of a deeply flawed TV series. When the author does discuss the work of the Commissioner it was clear that their research is limited, Is anyone wanted to know about Sir Robert I would suggest that they read his own far superior biography

Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this book early via an arc copy.

I previously read a book talking about events that inspired Line of Duty as I loved the series but unfortunately I DNF’d that book as it didn’t really have much substance.

The real ted Hastings on the other hand is a really interesting read! It has many references and comparisons to the Line of Duty TV show whilst focusing on the real stories more themselves!

The main thing that let this down honestly was the version I was reading. I read via my kindle and at the time of reading it hadn’t formatted properly. Some sentences had no gaps whilst some were partially missing, so I found it difficult to read at times. However, I did check the NetGalley library version of the book and the formatting is fully functional there, so I’m sure when this is published it will be a great read on the kindle also!

I’d like to thank Ad Lib Publishers, Mardle Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The Read Ted Hastings’ by Robin Jarossi in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

‘Line Of Duty’ has to be one of the best crime series ever produced for any television channel, as it concentrates on high-level corruption in the police force based on factual and often well-publicised true events. AC-12, the department most hated by police officers even those who are completely honest, is headed by Superintendent Ted Hastings, often compared to the Met’s most renowned anti-corruption officer Sir Robert Mark, and although Hastings isn’t perfect by any means he’s determined to root out dishonesty and crime in an institution that the public expects to be trustworthy – the police force.

The author of ‘The Real Ted Hastings’ writes about fictional (and some not so fictional) crimes serialised in ‘Line Of Duty’ but also includes real life crime and criminals. I’ve found it difficult to read as it jumps around too much and just as I’m getting involved in the thinking behind the programme it moves on to real stories and characters which I found discombobulating at times. I’d expected it to feature more on the series and what went on behind the scenes and although it was good it could have been so much better if it had concentrated on one topic at a time rather than keep moving around from one subject to another and back again.

Line of Duty is one of my favourite programmes and I needed to read this book! A good insight into the real workings of a team like AC12 and what it is like to work in that area of policing. A great read for fans of Line of Duty!

Corrupt Police.
The Real Ted Hastings book had its moments but sadly when I first started this book it spoke more about the TV programme In The Line Of Duty. This I thought would disappear once we started reading the first corrupt police story. The book sadly jumps from each story with a series in a police programme on TV and the comparisons or how the series matches the real story.
If You are happy and watch a lot of TV programmes this book will be for you but sadly, I had looked forward to reading the stories about the corrupt police but was disappointed as I just wanted to read about the different stories from around England. I finished the book, but I could not engage in each story so for this reason I marked the book down to 3 stars. Thanks to NetGalley and to the publishers of this book for giving me a free advance copy of the book to preview and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Easy enough read. As a fan of Line of Duty I could relate to the thread of the book. Obviously for those who haven't watched the TV series it won't make a lot of sense.

There is nothing new in this book that isn’t available in other career tell alls. I didn’t find this gripping or particularly informative. It’s not a good time for the police and this certainly didn’t add anything.

It's difficult for me to give a review on this book. The book is recommended for those who watched BBC Tv series 'Line of duty'.
