I enjoyed the book, I honestly read it in one sitting because I wanted to know who was behind the deaths. I would read the sequels, overall I'd rate it 3.5/3.75 stars, it was entertaining and a quick read (for me).

Thank you to netgalley for sending me this arc and allowing me to read it and review it.

I loved this book so much. It is very near and dear to my heart. I felt as if each character was apart of my family. This book evoked deep emotions from me i didnt know i was capable of feeling.

I love a good K drama book and this on did not disappoint. It is a paranormal YA book, which is what drew me in. Aera begins to experience episodes where she sees people dying. She does not like this at all and then she has one of a boy she knows from her childhood. She tries to prevent him from dying and of course, the two spark a connection. If you are a fan of paranormal K drama, you will love this book!!

This was a fun, sweet, and fast-paced paranormal romance read that revolves around Aera Song, a 17-year-old student, who recently got dumped by her boyfriend Cole, right before prom, and her birthday.

As Aera is trying to cope with a breakup and high school, she begins experiencing vivid visions and dreams of people nearing their death. Initially, she tries to ignore them until she has a premonition about the death of Gray Yoo, her ex-boyfriend’s cousin and her childhood friend. In her attempt to prevent Gray’s tragic fate, she embarks on a journey of self-discovery, confronting her repressed emotions and realizing that she’s not the only person in her town who has supernatural abilities.

The enemies-to-lovers trope is done well (even though it’s more of a friends-to-lovers trope), and I enjoyed alternating POVs. Even though it’s a cute love story, it felt like most of the characters are a bit underdeveloped, but that might improve in the next sequel. The story is exciting and action-packed, but there were so many different plots being added to the story, especially in the second half, which made the storyline seem a bit all over the place. That being said, I still enjoyed reading it, and I’m looking forward to the sequel.

The comic strips were such a fun idea! I loved it!

Thank you, NetGalley, the publisher Absolute Author Publishing House, and author Samantha J. Won for the ARC copy! I received a free copy of this book, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This was a fun read and right up my alley. If you like k-dramas and paranormal is your thing, you will like this YA novel.

Moon Dust is a fun and quirky paranormal Y/A novel about a high schooler named Aera Song who suddenly develops physic abilities including dreams and visions. One day, amidst turmoil in her love life, she begins to have visions about her nemesis Grey. Despite their rocky past she is determined to do the right thing by preventing his death- time and time again.

However, ignoring her mother's "advice" comes with unseen consequences and entangles her fate with Grey's, for better or for worse.

If you love the humor and love triangles of a K-drama you are in for a treat !

I absolutely adored Grey and loved seeing his side of the story .

Poor Aera did not have the best sense of direction concerning the men in front of her for a while and that's why it was easy to relate, like, and sympathize with her.

The supernatural aspect is delightfully more in depth than I anticipated.

There are so many layers to each of these characters and the world building that kept me coming back for more.

Towards the end of the book there was a twist I did not see coming and it pulled on my heart strings. I was not expecting Moon Dust to hurt me but it did. The epilogue helped in the after math but now I have even more questions and can't wait for book two.

Thank you to the publishers, author and NetGalley for the free copy of this book.

This was a quick, decent read. A little too scattered at times, and a bit too juvenile feeling for me but not bad overall.

My 16~17 years old self would totally devour this. The story is actually interesting, but I think there's lacking some depth and development --character's wise. Aera's narrative is so hilarious and fitting the 17 y.o girl mind totally, while Gray's being so obsessed with Aera is so cute too. Overall, it's a fun quick read.

This was a quick and easy read but lacked development and depth.

As others have mentioned, the writing has a Wattpad-ish feel to it. Additionally, there was an abundance of telling rather than showing, making it difficult to form an emotional connection with the characters.

The concept and idea are good, and I enjoyed the ending, but the overall execution could have been better.

*** Thank you to NetGalley, Samantha J. Won, and Absolute Author Publishing House for graciously sending me a copy of the novel to review. As always, all thoughts are my own.**

This book seemed so fun, and it was don’t get me wrong, but I just don’t think werewolves are really my thing. Aera was hilarious in some moments and Gray’s obsession with her was adorable but I just didn’t like the werewolf bit.

Do you like Korean culture, or is this something that makes you shiver? If you are into it, then I think you would find mentions in Ms. Won's book (or rather references), and when you like not such a strict and mature style (as it can seem a little bit Wattpad-ish from time to time.
Aera is the main character here - a girl that can get on our nerves, but I find it true to her age as when teens we are judgy, hypocrites - who was not, then please throw a stone! Her reactions can also seem childish, but I found it well written that she was not made a too mature character. And then she will have lots of worries on her plate, and she will hesitate about what is good and what is real when she gains outwardly powers.
Then there is Gray - I found him hard to pinpoint at first as he was not giving away a lot about himself. He has his secrets, that with him comes to another PNR element that gives another nice layer to "When we lost the Moon." There will be a lot of stuff coming his way, and they will need the attention of the leader.
I would have loved this book if there was more tight plot in this book - like concentration on elements that got me curious for the whole read (like hunters, wolves, powers, etc.). This would make it much, much better in my eyes. As this book is a debut, I hope that the style of this author will get more solid and the plot concentration will be put on more intriguing parts (pretty please!)

Cute enemies to lovers romance. Lots of fun to read. The characters were great. Lots of fun kpop references.

Thank you to the publisher for providing a review ebook.

Whilst the premise sounds promising the amount of pop culture references and the most unnecessary descriptions made this a hard read. If I were younger I may had like this more, as I believe ‘Moondust’ is better suited to middle grade rather than YA.

this was okay, but read a little juvenile and i didn't feel connected to the characters or what happens to them at all. i can see other reader enjoying this a lot tho!

I have to echo some of the other reviews I've seen — the premise is promising, the world being created was intriguing enough for me to pick this up, but the writing itself didn't click for me. It felt a little juvenile, which was a shame because I was very interested to see where it went, but I couldn't make myself continue.
Thank you for the opportunity to read.

Title: When We Lost the Moon - Moondust Book 1
Author: Samantha J. Won
Publisher: Absolute Author Publishing House
Publishing Date: April 30, 2023
Pages: 333
Genre: Romance, Fantasy, YA
Rating: ☆☆☆☆

Very enjoyable, fun, YA read.
The scifi/fantasy elements that were brought into this story were so fun and added an intriguing element to the story. I LOVE a slow burn enemies to lovers plot, and the way the relationship was set up between Aera and Gray was everything I hoped for. The way Gray feels for Aera is so sweet and I really loved following their story and the moral compass of Aera.
The language/context is very YA and is very juvenile. I would have liked a little more maturity, but it was still very cute and fun. The plot twist really set up the anticipation for book 2 and I’m really excited to get my hands on it!

Thank you to NetGalley and Absolute Author Publishing House for sending this book for review consideration! All opinions are my own.

Aera is an avid lover of Kpop, Kdrama and things supernatural. Living in the same small town since childhood, Aera has grown up with her current boyfriend, Cole and his cousin, Gray. Their town is full of oddities. There are werewolf hunters and Aera has suddenly developed the ability to predict death. After seeing the death of several town folks, she sees the death of Gray and she does everything to prevent it. Gray and Cole both are hiding secrets of their own.

As a Kdrama fan, it breezed through this book. I found myself quickly being engrossed in the characters and story. Samantha J Won weaves a tale that is fun, engaging and suspenseful. There is plot twist that I did not see coming and now am anticipating book two! Hopefully it’s soon!

"I usually don't enjoy slow burns, but the enemies-to-lovers dynamic between the main characters in this book was absolutely captivating. The gradual transition from adversaries to lovers made every page of the story incredibly engaging. Although it took me a few pages to fully immerse myself in the plot, the payoff was definitely worth it. Overall, it was a satisfying and enjoyable read.
