This is a good book. The two main characters are Jessica and Walker. Jessica is a widower and home improvement artist. Walker is a major and on medical leave. They meet at a retreat for people and their families in the service. There is an instant attraction. They start dating. They each have issues but together they work it out and fall in love.

I want a soldiers series like today!! Move aside cowboys. This was a really great story that explores deep emotions and connections. These characters have complex emotions they needed to process in order to be happy together.

I wished for a little more spice, but I did enjoy the taste we got.

A good romance of heartbreak and pain. She is a widow and he was injured in battle. Both have issues, and both feel the power of attraction. Liked this one and was a quick easy read. Would recommend.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

Jessica is healing and looking for a fresh start after grieving her husbands death. He died serving his country. When she meets Walker at her retreat she tries to deny her feelings as he was in Special Forces. Guarding her heart was her concern as she didn’t want to be hurt again.

Walker is trying to decide where his future is going as well but he can’t deny his feelings for Jessica. As the two grow closer they know their time together is coming to an end. Jessica feels she can’t stand the heartache of losing another soldier that is in her heart.

This love story will grip your heart and bring you to tears at goodbyes but will goodbye be forever?
