I read this a few months ago before the rest of the story was published and was so disappointed I never thought i would be interested in Dino smut but I definitely was after I saw the author announce the story is now complete i requested this book so quickly and I was not disappointed I am so happy that I got to finish this story and learned what happened to tanis and big al where it had ended. This book was so intriguing I have never read anything like it but you wont be disappointed in the weirdness and the wholesomeness of this book .

** spoiler alert ** So apparently even dinosaurs are unfaithful???

I’d previously heard about it and I recently got a free copy to read.

The dino has a software engineer degree. Dinos can communicate with humans. The MC Tanis falls for the dinosaur. Logistically there’s so many questions to be addressed but the story is pretty straightforward.

My only complaint would be the MC being 17. It costs nothing to make the MC older. The story still works if she’s older.

Also in the epilogue they propose a plan to have dinosaurs replace humans in slaughterhouses? What’s going to happen to all the human workers??? We have to be replaced by ROBOTS AND DINOSAURS??? Also this is never kind of explained but why didn't they put the communication device on other animals? I will say it is totally human of us to revive dinosaurs and immediately try to put them to work

1.5 I didn't like the book much but it was also exactly what I thought it would be walking into it. It is pretty easy to guess what you will be getting from this book so it isn't too much of a surprise. There were a handful of spelling and grammatical errors which was a little frustrating but otherwise it was an easy and entertaining read.

This was truly the worst book I’ve ever read. It isn’t even close. This book was horrendous. The only saving grace was that it was so short that I was free quickly.

I get that it’s not to be taken seriously. I get that it’s a dinosaur erotica book. That isn’t my issue. My issue is that this book isn’t even campy enough to be funny. It’s ridiculous, but I don’t think it’s in the way it hoped to be. Naming a dinosaur Big Al was at least a little campy. But I just needed more camp. Which I can’t believe I’m saying about a book titled Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer….

Genuinely, the best part of the book was the trigger warning list, cause that could at least become a “tag yourself” game. The only way I would recommend this book in any capacity is to show your friends the list and have them pick one to represent themselves. (Personally? I’m inaccurate dinosaur anatomy.)

I regret reading this. I regret even finding out it existed. I regret that now I also have to wonder if my partner would still love me if I was a dinosaur who ate their arm.

While I can understand why some may enjoy this novel, it was not for me. I feel it lacked depth, and just as the characters were becoming interesting and less impulsive, the story ended.

Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. All opinions are my own.

Although the preface did warn me of what to expect, it was still a little jarring. Completely different from the last book I reviewed by Lola Faust which was slow burn with little smut. This had smut starting right awaway, which I'll be honest, had me googling dino penises and wondering if this was humanly possible. Was she a virgin first? I think so. Yeah I think I need a middle ground smut book that doesn't give me questionable Google history. It was well written, just not my thing. Will I read the next one ?yes. Do I find it erotic? No. Do I find it entertaining?yes, very much so

Absolutely stellar read. I'm not entirely sure how you review quite possibly the most depraved smut I've ever read. I knew I was onto a winner when the worlds most comprehensive trigger warning list made me giggle.

It is definately, well...an acquired taste and not for the squeamish. If blood and gore make you feel faint, I would give it a wide berth. If you are looking to genuinely get your rocks off, having not read a great deal of monster smut, I am unsure whether this will do the job.

If however, you are looking for something that makes you want to bleach your brain afterwards, then this certainly fits the bill.

Do I have a new dinosaur sex kink - absolutely not. Would I read something else by the author in future? Possibly.

It's certainly different, you can give it that.

5/5 for the novelty.

These books just make me laugh. They are absolutely bonkers, but you sometimes have a good time. I just can’t believe they ignored the arm bit afterwards. Ha ha ha.

I thought I knew what I was getting into when I started this book. I read the content warnings that the author has included in the introduction. I didn't think anything of it because I have read some DARK mafia romance books in the past. Well, let me tell you, I was not prepared for this gem of a story. I'm still not entirely sure what I just read but it somehow sucked me in, ahem, and keep me reading all the way to the end.

More like a 2.5

Started off with juvenile YA writing, then on the same page moved into a sex scene, finishing the page by calling a penis “his sex” - chapter 1 🙄

It did in some ways have a plot line, which gave this an extra star, but to be honest, there were a lot of gaps in the plot that could have been filled out much more.

Also, how come this woman didn’t die from the amount of times his talons were in and on her?

Wow. What a wild journey. I don’t know why I’m posting this for all to see, but here we are. If you know me and happen to see this, no you didn’t. Don’t read it. But since some of you stranglings cannot be stopped, here’s a review anyway.

I have to give this book its credit. It was the most fun I’ve ever had whilst reading a 1 star read. Having read the content and now being left to carry those images around in my head makes giving this novel any stars feel a bit odd. And yet. Lola Faust, I don’t know what you’ve done to me, but let’s be honest, I’ll probably find myself reading your 1 star trainwrecks again when I need to shock myself back into feeling something.

I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this read to anyone, but I’m sure some of you will find yourselves intrigued anyway.

Thanks (I think) NetGalley for the ARC of this book.

Ok get ready for a massive backflip! (My 2 stars just went to 5!)

I initially read this book and was disappointed about the abrupt end to the story.

It is now being re-released (Thanks NetGalley for the ARC) in its full glory!!!!

So where the initial book ended very abruptly, this point is now the end of chapter 2!

Start with the content Warnings, they are hilarious and give very good context to the book. This book is bonkers, and ridiculous and may be a lil bit squicky in some places... but it is both a story in its own right and a parody of Monster Romance as a genre...

We start with "But, Daddy, I love him!", followed by and escape to a Love Cult, followed by "on the run", and ending up in Dinosaur becomes Self Made Man.

I found myself laughing out loud at a number of points.

This is perfect for people who want to read something a bit out there, and Chuck Tingle fans!

At no point in this story did I ever come close to predicting what was going to happen next. It was absolutely wild from page one all the way to the very end.

HOWEVER, I don’t think that was necessarily a good thing. WAY too much happened over the span of such a short novella, that nothing really had any umph.

Was this sexy? no. It was not. Definitely not something avid readers of Monster Smut would really go for. It’s mostly just shock value.

Happy to have said I read a book about a Wet, Hot, allosaurus though, I suppose? Seems like an accomplishment 😅

Review in progress and to come.

I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review

I thought this had the potential for a fun time, but I think too much happened for such a short novella. It was insta lust/insta love, and then we have a series of crazy events, finally leading to these two living happily ever after. I would’ve enjoyed more of a build up to the two being together, and there was a certain plot point I would’ve skipped.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. It's completely different from what I read normally. This was my first dinosaur spicy novel, and it was funny to read. Some parts where shocking, like the arm thing with the girl. But overall it was a good written story and if you are in dinosaur kinks then this book is definitely a good recommendation, its a short story and easy to read.

Uh, well, this is certainly a thing I have read now.

Far be it from me to knock someone else's idea of a good time. I'm not stranger to a good monster-fxcker book, and while dinosaurs have never entered my mind as a bangable option, you never know till you try. I think.

Or maybe I should've known. There's a very long list of trigger warnings at the beginning, and even though it was almost absurdly thorough, I feel like maybe somehow it still wasn't enough to really buckle me up for the ride I was about to go on.

Is it sexy? Nope. It's mostly... gross. Everything is gross. Stanky, nasty, unclean, gross. And again, I can get down with weird to a level that puts off the average vanilla bean, but this is apparently the moment I learn that a telepathic dino eating a woman's limb (but y'know, in an erotic way!) is where my sense of adventure abruptly ends.

Honestly, I had no idea what to rate this. It's exactly what it claims to be, which normally would put it at a minimum of 3 stars for me. But is it wrong to want more from a story about getting spicy with a dino? I don't know, because I don't think I will dip my toes into this particular sort of erotica pool again... but on the bright side, it's a quick read, if you don't count the times I stopped to dry heave for a while.

This was…certainly something.

When I see this was a book about dinosaur sex, I was expecting a very comedic, satirical story. I was expecting graphic erotica, so that part didn’t surprise me, but I was not expecting a romance plot, and certainly not one this fleshed out.

Our main character has always loved dinosaurs, and one day Big Al whisks her away from the dull farm life under the eye of her horrible father. On the run, the two lovers move from place to place and come across an array of events to interrupt their frequent and gratuitous…relations.

This story was absolutely ridiculous and that made it hilarious in itself, but I felt like it was almost too serious? And don’t get me wrong, I guess if Dino erotica is actually your thing, this would be great. But as someone looking for a parody, it was lacking some of the parody aspects that made it feel more just like it was catering to a kink (which I guess if that was the intent and I misunderstood then go for it). For a story that should have been 15 pages, I just feel like there was too much content.

I love the cover though. great pulp vibes.

I laughed the entire time. I don't know if I'll read another dinosaur book in the future, but this was wild.

It seems to me that the book is an anthology, but I only received one story in my digital review copy, “Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer”. This story delivers on its promises. There is erotica and there is science fiction. And since I knew from the description what to expect in terms of story, I was not shocked or even surprised. I will not claim that the story is great literature, but it was fun to read. What sold me on the book were excerpts of reviews from Goodreads that the publisher shared, along with reviews on Netgalley, many of which were funnier than some “humor” books I’ve read. Thank you to Netgalley and BooksGoSocial for the digital review copy.
